@allyigator-0 It's a database error, that only the site owner can fix. It usually only happens when you change emails linked to your account.

Thanks for reporting this, and sorry for the mixed signal it gave. The email notifications now use the same anonymised name as the on-site inbox, so a name that is kept anonymous on the site is no longer shown in the off-site mail. The mismatch is fixed. Appreciate the sharp eye.

@Lancej Why not simply take a look at the lists at the bottom of your Profile, under "User Details"? All the torrents that you are currently seeding are shown under "Show seeding torrents", and those you're still leeching under "Show leeching torrents".. [image: 1783772268501-523b4945-9c35-457d-8161-057360e57cec-image.jpeg] The totals of each should be the same as the numbers shown in the middle of the bar at the top of the site: [image: 1783772430613-b91ae8c6-07a8-4f03-b4d3-29f4588ebcd5-image.jpeg] Beneath these, is "Show completed torrents". When you stop seeding a torrent that has fully completed - e.g. you pause it, or delete the torrent from your client - that torrent will move from "Seeding" to "Completed". If the torrent you're interested in is in either "Seeding" or "Completed", you should get notified of any reseed request. If it's still in "leeching", or not shown at all, you won't be.

Welcome aboard. Short version: ratio is how much you share back versus what you download. New accounts get a bit of starting buffer, and the trick is to keep seeding what you grab and look out for freeleech torrents (those don't count against your download). The folks above gave you good tips too. Shout if you get stuck.

@raphjd said: Most staff use uTorrent v2.2.1. It's ancient, but it still works well. It's the last uTorrent before it was loaded with bloatware and other crap. I won't touch any uTorrent after that. Yes... To make sure I never loose the installer again, I have placed it on my private server here: https://www.tech911solutions.com/docs/uTorrent-2.2.1.exe Every time I need to install or reinstall it, I use this copy of the installer.

Staff note: thanks for all the testing in this thread, it was genuinely useful. The concrete points raised here (seeder columns, uploader name display, list contents, .torrent creation date, download issues after the switch) have been picked up into our internal tracking, and several are already fixed. Closing the triage entries for this thread; anything still broken for you today, just open a fresh thread or a helpdesk ticket.

@ScoobyDioux Exact same problem here. The problem is obviously on the server end.

@nordicblue: I had seen someone asking how to play iso files maybe they didn't get it here. Direct this person to the HELPDESK (on the blue bar) or here>>https://www.gaytor.rent/rules.php#102 10. We only allow exact copies of DVD Videos in image file (.iso, .img) or DVD folder structure (.vob) format so the downloader can keep it in it's original format or convert it to another file type with little quality loss. He/she should probably start at the beginning tho to assure they don't miss something relevant.  Also I'd suggest reading other parts of the Forum, GUIDES in particular > https://community.gaytor.rent/index.php?board=7.0 and FAQ. The answers to most questions can be found in one of the resources mentioned.

Transmission was very popular among Mac (and GNU/Linux) users, but now that a well working version of µTorrent exists for Mac, it became the most popular client for Mac users, too.

@Popper: The uploader don't get points when one of his torrents is made freelecch. My guess is that the "lost" points were given by "unknown" members, means members who's account got deleted from the data base and therefore their name (with the points given) can't be shown. Thanks Popper for the explanation… I think its clear now

No one should be torrenting on today's internet without the use of a VPN or proxy. A torrent client organizes the sharing of files, but does nothing to mask traffic to and from your computer.  Your internet service provider gives you access to the internet and logs everything you do by the IP they assign to your account and therefore all the activity you do from your computer. As metafile informed, one has to encrypt the traffic as it goes out of your computer, through your ISP, to the final destination.  A VPN service hides data traffic AND masks your IP.  The only thing that your ISP can log is random gibberish data due to the encryption.  And if a group detects your sharing of a torrent, the IP provided goes to your VPN, NOT your ISP.  I strongly recommend using Private Access Internet as well.  They do not keep any logs, which some VPN services do, which defeats part of the purpose in using them. If this is the first notification by your ISP, it likely is only a warning.  Take heed that you are actually unprotected and get a VPN if you continue in your torrent activities.

@Popper: All those got 99.74%, which means they've selected not to download the two pictures in that torrent. In reality they are seeding what they've downloaded (the movie). I'd suggest you try a Freeleech torrent which s content appeals you. Since download is "free", such torrents have all the time new downloading peers. Ah, thank you sir, that did the trick!

did you do as well the following setting: Tools –> Options...  --> Queue --> Seeding --> Auto Starting --> Auto Start all completed torrents with 0 peers selected in my options. With all these they should start, but of course uploading actual data will depend on the connection to downloading peers.

You got warned, because our system detected you had 6 accounts. A donation won't resolve that issue. You should have cleaned up that mess yourself by: deactivate all, except one account there > https://www.gaytor.rent/delacct.php and then reactivate rights on the remaining there > https://www.gaytor.rent/reactivate.php (Remark: It is recommended to keep the older account, which will make reseeding easier. In case a member believes to be warned not justified, he should write to the Helpdesk). In your case, I've cleaned it up for you, exceptionally.

I've been getting them lately as well.  But it seemed to start around the time I switched to Transmission GUI 5.01 (Windows) a couple of weeks ago. But since the torrent continues to download and upload, it really wasn't an issue. Currently, I'm seeing it on "KeptSecretXXX - Drug Bust".  So, if that file was reported as a dupe, then I guess we're the same page of "non-issue", which just leave the question of "'Why am I still here and not wankin'?"  (The question of a lifetime.)

Yes agree but IMHO he should've done a search on GTru first because I found there are 4 more of the same titles but different sizes. I think it's just rude. I guess if GT allows it, then he has the right to do it.

Yes I have, thank you. Well, maybe not too carefully but I have. I'm around here for four years now, always an occasional visitor. I was just surprised that it's relatively easy to become "power user" but then: why not?

You have downloaded the small .torrent file (the "torrent") and added it to µTorrent. Now your µTorrent tries to download the movie file, because it does not find it on your computer or external storage drive. When you add a torrent to µTorrent, there should be a window displaying the files of the torrent's file list and allowing to set the download folder. There you need to press the ". . ." button and change the download directory to the folder which contains the movie file. If this window is not displayed, you have changed µTorrent's default UI Settings. If you clicked to fast over that window, try the following steps: 1. Stop the torrent (do NOT remove) 2. Click with the right mouse button on the torrent in µTorrent/BitTorrent's list and select "Advanced" > "Set Download Location…" > navigate to the to the folder which contains the file, respectively folder, from which the torrent has been created, confirm with "Select folder". 3. Right mouse button click on the torrent in µTorrent's list and select "Force re-check". The torrent should check to 100% and µTorrent displaying "Finished" instead of "Stopped" in the status column. 4. Restart the torrent, it shall go to "Seeding" or at least to "Queued seeding"

@TMania: … Because I was having some issues with Vuze (I'm a paying user for that), I re-set the settings to the "factory default." I've since re-set everything like I had it, but now, when Vuze pulls in the torrent file from my default folder (I have it set up to import and start automatically), it doesn't start. I've clicked or unclicked everything that says "start torrent immediately" or "pause" or whatever is appropriate, but for now, the only way I can get a torrent to begin downloading is to manually go in and force start. Any suggestions? ... These settings should fix that > https://community.gaytor.rent/index.php?topic=16166.0 @TMania: … Second, unrelated question. I was killing my ratio here and wasn't sure why. Come to find out, I needed to forward my ports, which I have done. Happy that it works -- when I'm at home where I set the port forward to work! But, I also travel with my laptop to work, to Starbucks, to friends, etc. where it appears that port forwarding wouldn't work (because of the assigned IP address, I'm assuming). Is there a way to make this work -- or am I stuck seeding just when I am at home? ... You should try to have the portforwarding made by UPnP automatically. The function for that is hidden in Vuze's plugins setting. If the modem/router is set to have UPnP activated (which should be the default by the ISP, but not on company or other organisations networks) that will work. Vuze > Tools > Options … > Plugins (expand by click on the arrow before it) > UPnP > select "Enable UPnP" and "Release connections on shutdown" > click "Refresh" button
