@allyigator-0 It's a database error, that only the site owner can fix. It usually only happens when you change emails linked to your account.

Thanks for reporting this, and sorry for the mixed signal it gave. The email notifications now use the same anonymised name as the on-site inbox, so a name that is kept anonymous on the site is no longer shown in the off-site mail. The mismatch is fixed. Appreciate the sharp eye.

@Lancej Why not simply take a look at the lists at the bottom of your Profile, under "User Details"? All the torrents that you are currently seeding are shown under "Show seeding torrents", and those you're still leeching under "Show leeching torrents".. [image: 1783772268501-523b4945-9c35-457d-8161-057360e57cec-image.jpeg] The totals of each should be the same as the numbers shown in the middle of the bar at the top of the site: [image: 1783772430613-b91ae8c6-07a8-4f03-b4d3-29f4588ebcd5-image.jpeg] Beneath these, is "Show completed torrents". When you stop seeding a torrent that has fully completed - e.g. you pause it, or delete the torrent from your client - that torrent will move from "Seeding" to "Completed". If the torrent you're interested in is in either "Seeding" or "Completed", you should get notified of any reseed request. If it's still in "leeching", or not shown at all, you won't be.

Welcome aboard. Short version: ratio is how much you share back versus what you download. New accounts get a bit of starting buffer, and the trick is to keep seeding what you grab and look out for freeleech torrents (those don't count against your download). The folks above gave you good tips too. Shout if you get stuck.

@raphjd said: Most staff use uTorrent v2.2.1. It's ancient, but it still works well. It's the last uTorrent before it was loaded with bloatware and other crap. I won't touch any uTorrent after that. Yes... To make sure I never loose the installer again, I have placed it on my private server here: https://www.tech911solutions.com/docs/uTorrent-2.2.1.exe Every time I need to install or reinstall it, I use this copy of the installer.

Staff note: thanks for all the testing in this thread, it was genuinely useful. The concrete points raised here (seeder columns, uploader name display, list contents, .torrent creation date, download issues after the switch) have been picked up into our internal tracking, and several are already fixed. Closing the triage entries for this thread; anything still broken for you today, just open a fresh thread or a helpdesk ticket.

@justmejon There is a known issue that creeps up from time to time when the database needs a tune up. I have alerted the sysadmin to the issue and it should get resolved soon.

@ianfontinell That's because the .tw domain is for HTTP and isn't meant to be used with HTTPS

@justmejon It's a mystery to us all but don't give up. I heard that the owner is still working on security first before working on the rest so let's be hopeful. I am staying away from mainstream titles for the mean time but I don't know. My mind can change anytime.

@BummerBoy When a torrent is made free leech it gets pushed back to the top of the listings and is far more likely to get noticed and reported. With that title it could have sat unnoticed, without any downloaders, for many years because I can't imagine anyone using "rare gay movies" as their search keywords.

@ianfontinell said in Can Gaytorrent give me a list of torrents I've previously downloaded?: It'll only show torrent's that you've downloaded fully. Note that "downloaded fully" means that you have downloaded all of the files in the torrent. If you've selected some (but not all) of the files, it won't show up here (even though your torrent client shows the torrent as being finished). Also, the system will count this torrent as one you're still downloading.

This happens when tracker is no longer active ... Failure Unregistered Torrent [remove due to copyright violation/deleted by the original poster/duplicate issues] ... you can continue seeding if you wish, however your distribution will no longer credited ...

@twinkerzzz said in POWER USER clarification: so you seem to be saying my searches will continue to display dvd-r content (vob file) and also allow me to download them even tho my 'power user' status dipped to 'user' status ? Could you confirm ? I'm not an expert or an insider here; I was only speculating on why the "no DVD for new users" rule might be there. But I might make a suggestion: If your ratio is in trouble, I would hold off downloading from any large torrents that you won't be able to seed back--a DVD posted a long time ago with no other leechers won't give you the opportunity to upload it back. To pump up your ratio, I suggest two things: Download a new freeleech torrent, and by "new," I mean something in the last hour. Your download won't count, but any upload will. This doesn't need to be something that you want to watch--the whole idea is to get upload credit. Download a very recent torrent that has many files, and select only a few (maybe 10-15%) to download. You'll get charged for the material you download, but the tracker will send other leechers to you to get the few files that you did download. If you have a good connection and leave your computer on, you can get a share ratio of 10, 20, or higher on that torrent alone. This will help your ratio. Good luck!

@vbear2 said in Tracker giving response code 404 (Not Found): I looked further and saw that I was getting this from everything from the site, including new items that I had just downloaded. It might be something as simple as not being logged in, in which case you won't be able to find a page behind the log-in wall. The forum and the torrent listings seem to have different log-in clocks, and I find that if I log in and then back up the browser, I'm all set.

Im pretty sure the issue is that QTM is trying to connect to gaytor.rent, not gaytor.rent. Same issue with manual uploading, if the tracker is based on gaytor.rent not the new one, the upload will fail to seed. Dont know how to solve the QTM one though.

@arlawson The problem you've described ("most of the time my torrent client never uploads after I download stuff.") sounds familiar to me. I've found that while a torrent is at a seeder/leecher ratio of 1 to any other number (say 1/50 or 1/100) you will pick up lots of leechers to upload to before you've finished getting the file yourself. Once the ratio tips (the moment when more than one person has the entire file) that's when the seeding drastically declines. That's been my experience. It's important to note, that while the uploading may decline, it's still a good idea to seed for as long as possible even if no one is connected to your client (you'll still get bonus points based on time seeding). As far as piratebay seeming to have more leechers for you to seed a file to, those and other open access trackers can have thousands of leechers across multiple trackers, whereas the most you'd see for a file here on our single tracker would be less than 200 per file, so that accounts for your lessened upload activity here as opposed to there. I don't think your router has anything to do with it.
