@harry76 For your ISP, it becomes more of a legal protection. No ISP wants to be known as the ISP that allows copyright infringement on their network. In the case of a user who gets a multitude of requests, this obviously increases the risk that the copyright troll can start litigation against the provider for allowing such activity on their network. I personally do not use a VPN when logging into the site just to browse or use the forums, however on the machine that I use for the actual torrent traffic, I absolutely use a VPN. I know that in the DPI state of Canada, my ISP can most definitely see what I'm doing behind the VPN, however it is not my ISP I am worried about. It's more of a protection so that nothing attaches my actual IP address to any torrent traffic so that my actual IP address does not appear in the peers pool. This way, my ISP can most definitely still see what I'm doing, but potential copyright trolls cannot tie my identity to any specific torrent. The other added benefit of using a VPN is that if I do hit on a torrent that is being monitored by copyright trolls, they'll have to approach my VPN provider for further information, however my VPN provider has a strict no logging policy, so they are not able to disclose information that they do not actually have. This saves me from having my ISP account tied to any of the torrents I may have active at any given time, which both protects me from being tied to the torrent, and also stops my ISP from receiving any potential notice. It is generally assumed that although in a DPI state such as Canada that the big players to the market can see what kind of traffic you have going even through the VPN, they typically do not give a damn what you're actually doing, as long as they don't have copyright holders knocking on their door with infringement claims. That said, depending on where you are in the world, it may be a wise idea to use the VPN even when logging into the site, just to make sure that even the sites themselves cannot tie your actual IP address to your account. This is particularly helpful if the security of the site or its staff are compromised somehow. A person may be able to tie the VPN IP to different torrents, and may even be able to tie your VPN IP to your account, but if they are not able to sniff out your actual IP address, then the link they need to get your subscriber information is missing, thereby making the VPN IP address a dead end (assuming that your VPN provider has a no logging policy).

I'm not sure if we're allowed to talk about this, but there's a big profile that is in the middle of disappearing on thisvid. I'm trying to crawl for 12k vids on this profile and I'm wondering if there's a better way than just writing my own script to do it - I'm new to it. I feel like I'm watching my own library of Alexandria burn right now. Anybody else ever dealt with anything similar?

@mrker1234 said in You shouldnt use NORDVPN for torrenting anymore.: @bi4smooth JSYK, I sporadically see an issue with a torrent getting started when SOCKS5 is up. In that case, I make sure the VPN is on and turn off SOCKS5 and once it starts can turn it back on. It isn't often, and not a big deal to me to make sure I have torrent actually started before walking away. I'm not technical enough to know why even on those torrents it hesitated with, it works fine once downloading. My theory is that is having issue with tracker site, but once stared is dealing directly with the downloader. I have not been able to get a SOCKS5 connection going in my qBitTorrent... and since what I have works, I'm not really motivated to find out why LOL I will add one more thing... sometimes, when I tire of the limited countries that have P2P servers available, I'll connect to a "regular" location - and I've never had an issue there either. In fact, if anything, the non-P2P sites tend to be a little faster? I think maybe because Nord is so heavily used for P2P-ers, the P2P servers get more heavily loaded... just my opinion/guess: I have no way of testing that theory without too many other variables...

@marcustehkid said in Edge or chrome Extension for downloading SketchySex Videos: @thai24 said in Edge or chrome Extension for downloading SketchySex Videos: I can't seem to download SketchySex videos from their website. Anyone know of an app/extension for Edge or Chrome that can do this? I tried JDownloader, and Cococut but they don't see they video to download. I currently use Video DownloadHelper (I'm using it on Firefox, but I know the chrome version works as well). The extension basically looks for media on the page and gives you an option to download it. I don't have an account for SS either so I can't give a definite answer sadly. I have however had it work on other porn sites without a problem. The one "drawback" I can see is, for it to work correctly and reduce timeout errors/failed downloads would be that it "requires" a companion app installed on your computer. I have not have any issues with the companion app personally and I ran several different virus scans with multiple products and they all came back clean. As far as I can see, all the companion app does is offload the download to your computer instead of having it download directly in the browser. Not directly related to your post, but it also lets you download streaming content. I used it to grab Plexstorm streams as well as Chaturbate rooms without a hitch After doing some further testing, it seems like Video DownloadHelper does not work on Sketchysex Sorry

@bi4smooth said in Quick questions about uTorrent: @eobox91103 uTorrent has a colored past. You DO NOT want the latest version, nor any of the recent versions. There is a forum post about how to install the "recommended" version. I think there is a link to it in the QTM howto? I personally use qBitTorrent... Thanks for the information. I did see the post about the "recommended" version of uTorrent, but following those instructions still got me a block from my anti-virus software (Norton 360). I'll have to give qBitTorrent a try--it seems to get high marks from many people. I don't look forward to setting up all the various options of where to put torrent files, downloads, etc., but it sounds like it will be worth it in the long run.

i know i'm kinda late on this but i use WeVPN and it works really well. I prefer it over Nord and Surfshark. (including codes so it'll be cheaper for you). I'm going to recommend you the two i personally like because of features and security. Depending how long you want to have the vpn for and what exactly you are wanting out of the VPN there are options. Make sure the VPN you're going to get has Port Forwarding so you can also seed after you're done downloading. WeVPN is a great one which for me was $63 with tax using code "Tomspark" saving you like $7ish for 2 years (Streaming Ips Included) TorGaurd is another really great one which have has multiple plans ranging from basic Vpn no streaming ips to their "Pro" plans which include "streaming" ips incase you want to watch geo restricted content. that can range anywhere from $60-100+ and if you use code "Tomspark" you get 50% the price so it'll be cheaper.

Unfortunately there is nothing you can do if the file is copyright protected ... @flozen said in Can I ask for invite to gay-torrent.org?: @bi4smooth As background, the invitation rule you provided is from a 2007 post. It's on the same thread that notes "derailing conversations, to complain about topics or individual posters, is not allowed." Now, there's an enforcement challenge that would really amount to something. I'm not trying to be a policeman - I'm in no position to enforce any forum rules. Honestly, I previously had responded to just such a post - and provided an invite to another torrent site. I was subsequently chastised/warned by a Moderator that I was in violation of the forum rules - citing that very page. I don't do that anymore: other than in the Politics section, I try NOT to annoy the moderators of the site... I like my porn! I made no threat, not even a warning... I just posted that it was a documented violation of the rules... the same Administrator (@raphjd) who posted those rules is the current Administrator. If there have been changes in policy, I'm not aware of it - and there is no reason anyone would single me out to update the policy... Also, if the policy had changed, I'm pretty sure moderators can delete posts... We could ask the moderators to clarify... but honestly, I've found the less you involve the "cops" and handle things yourself the better... you never know what the "cops" will do! And it's seldom exactly what you want them to do! As for the implication that I "derailed a conversation",I'll just point you to the original post... a question... CAN I ask for an invite to gay-torrent.org... I answered that question, specifically and directly. Sorry to get defensive...

@noyc said in ProblemwithGTrutracker: Btw, it worked perfectly until yesterday More likely to get help via the helpdesk, but you might changing the ports you're using... this is a private tracker, so there's only 1 IP/port your ISP has to block to kick you offline here... with public trackers, there are many many more, so that may explain why some others still work. You change the port in your client settings.

@eobox91103 said in Internal Error: @john32123666 I get this problem as well from time to time. The forum software went through a major redesign/downgrade several weeks back, and many people abandoned them. (They worked fine for years; there was no reason to mess with them.) I suggest hanging in there and trying back from time to time. They might eventually get fixed. That account affected by glitch/bug/error w/c I deleted and automatically replace by the system... Thanks to your attention... as an old saying says : "why messed up with things when it's not broken"... [not intended to offend anyone]

@john32123666 said in Reasons to ditch Utorrent for Qbittorrent: uTorrent 2.2.1 is the once top-rated, popular file-sharing program before it was ruined by bundleware and bloat. Utorrent 2.2.1 build 25302 is the best version of Utorrent as it was before all the ads and other sketchy things added to later versions. Exactly. It's a decade old and it's the best they have. Let's not forget that they secretly included BitCoin miners in their program in some of the v3.xx versions until they got caught.

@lololulu19 said in Invalid Characters imported from GTRUORG: @flozen I very rarely do. It seems to be something new. I generally filter out weird characters. I noticed so many files with weird characters lately that I even complained to the uploader. Two times when I tried uploading files with weird characters in the past week, I had a nightmare trying to find the problem QTM was having with them. I found the problem finally, after jackny told me what the cause of the problem was. Afraid I don't use QTM - I'm old-school in a fashion - plus I usually seed from Linux systems My knowledge of the different type-sets (character sets) comes professionally, not from torrenting... Linux vs. Windows vs. MacOS vs Mainframe...
