@Aerethiel It is supposed to prevent that kind of thing in theory, but the big players to the market in Canada (Bell, Rogers, Telus, and Videotron) all have such DPI systems, which absolutely CAN and DO decrypt. Until Bill C-9 passed just recently, this practice was highly illegal, but since the passing of that bill, it has become the "standard" practice. There are other countries like Turkey that come to mind that have the same kind of DPI system. I don't know if their systems can read the actual traffic though to tell what kind it is, or if they can see the actual content as well, but I know in Canada (and likely also the USA), the big player providers (and by extension, the government) can not only see what kind of traffic is being transmitted, but they can also see the content of the traffic too. This means that for anyone who has smart home gadgets or appliances that connect to their home network, the government absolutely DOES know what you have, what you've got things set to, when you're home or not home, and so much more, as they read all the data from such gadgets to keep track of the people. It's actually kind of scary. Sadly even in Canada, especially with the recent passing of Bill C-9, a VPN doesn't help... It will keep other people on the internet from seeing what you're up to, or even seeing where and who you really are, but it absolutely will NOT stop the government from prying into your business.

@cp2000 there is an app on the mac app store called muxy that lets you combine videos and export them as an mp4, so you can take your faves and combine them and then watch them easily all together anytime. It is so you don't have to spend time putting the wall together each time.

@petae There's only one single software that transcodes media files, it's called ffmpeg and any software you could think of use it, so instead of downloading a fancy paid software you could just use ffmpeg directly, since it's free. You can find a very cool version here, with a friendly interface that is easy to use: https://github.com/MattMcManis/Axiom/releases/tag/v1.9.6.1-alpha Just download " Axiom.FFmpeg.7z" and extract it anywhere you want, then open axiom.exe. If you want to process more than one file at once, click the "batch" button in the bottom right, and then click the "input" button to select the folder where your videos are located. Then select an output where you want the transcoded files to be stored. [image: 1690707638584-77d1b023-94df-4446-aab7-9f73da029ccd-image.png] On the right side you'll see a few tabs, the default tab is "formats" where you'll essentially pick your desired extension in the "container" option. I'd recommend MKV or MP4. If you pick MP4, you can choose between H264 or H265 (also known as HEVC). If you pick MKV you'll have a few more options such as VP9 and AV1, but bear in mind that AV1, although very efficient, requires a 40-series Nvidia card. [image: 1690707925653-eb06e04f-5301-4328-af16-c42813f12a74-image.png] After picking your container, go to the "video" tab. First, change the HW Accel option to "On" and then set the "Decode" option to auto. This way you'll have more encoding formats available. For video Codec you can pick either H264 NVENC or HEVC NVENC if you have an Nvidia GPU. If you use AMD, pick the AMF option. (If you don't have a compatible GPU or if you're unsure, just pick regular x264 or x265, but expect it to be very very slow.) H265 HEVC takes a little more time to encode, but the output file will save 30% more storage while maintaining the same picture quality. Prefer HEVC if you have a modern GPU. Leave "Encode Speed" on DEFAULT regardless of which encoder you chose. As for the "Quality" option: If you're using H264 encoder (x264 or NVENC) Set the "Quality" option, pick LOW. If you chose H265 (x265 or NVENC) you could try either SLOW or MEDIUM and see what's best for you in terms of storage efficiency. Additionally, if you want to change the resolution of your videos, you can go to the "Size" tab and pick one of the presets. Disclaimer: the settings I am recommending here are exclusive for videos from OF or JFF, since they have a default bitrate. This will give you a result that's smaller in size without sacrificing too much on picture quality.

@lyonking I think OF is giving individual creators the option of implementing DRM for their videos. Some are using it, some aren't. Like you, I'm using VideoDownloadHelper w/Firefox and it no longer works on some OF creator pages. One creator turned it off recently, temporarily, because of complaints by subscribers that they couldn't view the videos but then it was turned back on again. Oh well...

@raphjd Personally, I use Mozilla Thunderbird myself. I have found it works with everything I want it to. My email servers, my Hotmail account, my Gmail account, and many other services I have tested it with. I haven't tried it with Proton as of yet, however I would imagine it would handle that just as well as it handles everything else I have thrown at it.

@GalloB-0 said in Downloading pictures from a view only site: I can screenshot but there are 500 pictures and then I’d need to crop each one. Just thought there would be an easier option Additionally you could use an extension to do the job automatically. You can find Image Downloader in the chrome web store and firefox add-ons. You could also use DownloadHelper but this one is a little more tricky to configure for images, but possible.

@bear1515 I tried to do everything you said but it didn't work. I couldn't find the link of the video. I even open the page with the source code but I couldn't find it.

VPNs will never be fully anonymous. However, there are things you can watch out for when choosing a VPN. First of all, check to see if the VPN your looking into operates within one of the '14 eyes' countries. These are countries that share intelligence with one another. So, for example, if your VPN is a Norwegian company, the US could ask Norway for your information, and the VPN service would give it up. However, they can only give up as much as you give them. There are VPN services that require minimal or no identifying information upon sign up. The best, in my opinion, is Mullvad. I would look into it. Also, a red flag with VPNs is if they say that you'll be completely anonymous online. That's impossible. If they are willing to twist the truth to make money, what else are they lying about? A good privacy service in general will be up front and honest about their shortcomings, so you can actually make an informed choice.

@bolero Seedbox providers vary a lot in what they provide whether it be cost, storage, bandwidth, apps and don't expect support beyond the knowledgebase. Like you, I have found that they provide minimum information upfront and you have to try them to see what you get for your money. However 4 tips - if you want to seed a torrent you have uploaded then a seedbox makes a humungus difference in (a) speed of seeding first leechers (seconds rather than minutes) and (b) if ratio is important then only with a seedbox will you get any signiifcant share of the data uploaded. Seedbox providers don't normally count in any bandwidth limitation the data you upload to your seedbox storage or the data you download from your seedbox storage. If you want to increase download speed from your seedbox don't use ftp instead 'share' your files and use a download program. They can often multiply speeds by 4 to even 10 times. Also you may find time of day makes a big difference that depends on who you are sharing your bandwidth with as managed by your ISP. It may be worth experimenting. If you want to improve speeds of uploading to your seedbox you will usually find using a Google G Drive helps. Google seems to be able to upload data placed in a G Drive folder very fast. Many seedbox providers (not all) allow you to transfer files directly from other cloud storage - Google and Dropbox are the most common. Honestly if you use a seedbox with any degree of common sense upload speed and download speed from your ISP will only be an issue if you play online computer games. Seedboxes cost a few dollars a month and are only expensive if you want many TBs of storage. Most people don't really need anything other than very temporary storage. If you really need cloud storage then you should get it from a mainstream provider, don't expect a seedbox provider to be around in the long term.

Short answer is no. There are tools to depixelate still frames, but it will process the whole image. Thing with censored porn is that the image is clean, except for a small portion of it which is the censor box, that is subject to move around with the image without following the camera tracking, as well as change its shape and size. Meaning the AI would need to process the whole image to solve what is pixelated and what is not, to then start interpolating what the content underneath it is. That's challenging enough, but there's more: It cannot solve subtle movement like the camera moving around, zooming in or out, as well as the subjects' movements happening WITHIN the censored area. This means that if a video were "uncensored" through this process would have A LOT of weird artifacts that would make it very clear that you're not seeing a real image but rather something that was generated by a computer.

@gflemings I believe that you have to be a fully paid up member of Gagaoolala to get the screen and that none of the downloaders will be able to capture the video stream directly. The only thing you can do is do a high def screen capture from the Gagaoolala app.
