I know a few people are complaining about the new site, but I for one truly appreciate the work that you've been putting in over the last few weeks. It's such an improvement! In fact, I've even gone so far a to do something I vowed I'd never do. The site felt stagnant and unloved for several years, leading me to say that I'd never donate while so much housekeeping seemed to be left undone, but the recent changes have altered my opinion.

With that in mind, I've gone back on my myself and dropped a small donation. It is a small one (I'm broke!) but it's not for the upload credit or the star against my name. It's a thank you, and I hope that at least some others will join in to reward the effort that's been put in and help to keep the site going.

There's a series of uploads on here titled <country> Twinks and Amateurs <month>" and it drives me up the wall. There are occasionally some OK files in them, but whoever is putting them together is padding them with several GBs of "Extras" which are normally just poor quality rips of full films already on the site.

It's not an isolated case either. I downloaded an OF rip that contained multiple duplicates and endless 3-second long clips of someone brushing their teeth.

I loved this site a few years ago, but the overall standard of uploads is becoming shocking. People reupload huge collections of files, perhaps adding a couple of pictures just to change the overall size of the download and it gets accepted. Proper titles, descriptions and pictures are a thing of the past, and the system actively encourage people to upload fake pics to other people's torrents with the promise of extra seedpoints.

There's good stuff here, and I don't have any intention of turning my back on the site, but I wish somebody could find a way of actively improving things, because I can guarantee I'll never donate while things remain the way they are.

Nobody is lumping you in with trans people. The trans people had a meeting and they don't want you. Get over your own bigotry and/or insecurities, live your own damn life and shut up about it because we don't care!!!

Repeating this ad nauseum does little to change anyone's mind. As I've pointed out on several occasions in the past you seem to be under the impression that something you've read online somewhere applies globally. Even if porn couldn't be copyrighted wherever you are, that does not mean that anything in other parts of the world.

As has been said many times before, this site is not a democracy. The site owner gets to decide what happens on here. If they choose to comply with DMCA, most likely having sought legal guidance on the issue from a professional and not someone with a tinfoil hat on, then that is up to them.

We, the members, do not own the site. We are not responsible for it. The site goes to great lengths to protect its members' anonymity. The owners do not have that protection, so they can do what they like as far as I'm concerned.

As I said, even if there is some bizarre law or statute wherever you are, that has limitations. Porn can be and is copyrighted in many countries, and that copyright is applied to all signatories of the Berne Convention, including the US.

A (fairly long!) article on porn copyright on Lexology reads:

"Similarly, a French court[28] recently held[29] that copyright will not be denied to pornographic work only because of its genre and that the choices governing the design can be considered as original for copyright purposes. In the Australian case Venus Adult Shops,[30] dealing with copyright infringement of pornographic films, the Federal Court held that there is no statutory basis in the Copyright Act 1968 to refuse copyright on the grounds of content or offensive subject-matter of the work in question."

Regarding the UK it goes on to state:

Look, I appreciate that in general a community that doesn't grow will fizzle out instead. However, the recent events regarding GayArea show just how careful we need to be. If we're to hand out invitations willy-nilly, especially on such an open forum as Reddit, then we would be asking for trouble.

I'm all for growth, but there needs to be some sort of gatekeeping going on. The current limited invite system pushes members to be choosy about who they use their invitations on, hopefully reserving them for friends and/or people they know will behave. I'd actually welcome a system where members face sanctions if they invite people who rapidly become disruptive and troublesome. Apply that idea in conjunction with essentially offering open signups from Reddit and the mod's workload would double and our membership would halve.

I just think the costs would outweigh the benefits. If we want more people here then let them come direct from other torrent sites where they can demonstrate good behaviour and a good ratio.

@john32123666 When someone has read the rules and simply forgotten something I can forgive that. When someone hasn't read the rules thoroughly enough to know them properly, I can sort of forgive that. (There are quite a lot of them and it's not an easy read..)

But when someone clearly knows the rules and chooses to ignore them then they're just asking for it. Any torrent site is only as good as its uploads, and it seems to be worse now than it was a few years ago. People are getting lazy, and have no interest in quality uploads. They just want the ratio.

Let's hope that the mods have "explained" the rules to him.

From the sheer number of posts you've made along these lines I don't think it's unreasonable to suspect that you have may have fantasies that lean deep into "straight buy does gay stuff" territory. If so there's nothing wrong with that, but I don't think you really need us to validate that fantasy for you. Believe whatever you want to believe about porn actors, because at the end of the day all of it is really just fantasy. That's the whole point of it. I think you're overthinking it. Imagine someone is straight or gay if you like and just enjoy it for what it is, a performance.

The only way in should be with an invite, and if he has a friend on the site then surely he must have run out of invites by now, what with the number of times he's been kicked. If he is getyting invites off a friend then they must know what's going on after bringing him back so many times, so I'd vote to kick them too.

If nothing else this is a perfect example of why I was so against someone's suggestion that we start handing out random invites on Reddit.

I sent a PM to an uploader earlier using the "Send Uploader a Message" button on a listing. My mailbox on the site shows the reciever of the message as "Anonymous" in both my inbox and sent messages. However, the site automatically sent me an email notifying me of their reply, and the subject line read "You have received a PM from <their username>"

I can't help feeling this isn't the intended behaviour and that the username shouldn't be revealed in emails if it isn't on the site.

@Kevin4fm Yeah, I don't agree to having it in priniple. I just feel that people are trying to go overboard and doing too much.

I did message one of the uploaders above about the grey text on a grey background and he was very helpful. He wrote back and said he appreciated the feedback and changed the text to white so it would be readable. Having to do so for each and every listing that goes wonky would take ages though. I think it's better to limit things, if only a little.

I have to say I'm not a fan of the (new) ability to use coding for the torrent details. In my opinion it just makes the listings look tatty when people don't know how to use it properly, and it leads to messy and unreadble info.

My personal opinion is that everything looked much better when everything was just in plain white text with line breaks.
