@MrMazda So, in short, this whole thing perfectly illustrates why its utterly pointless to start threads moaning about having your uploads removed and perhaps getting a 90-day ban. It serves to keep the wolves at bay.

RE: gay-torrents.org is DOWN
For clarification:
- gay-torrents.org is down, and may very well stay down. The TLD has suspended their domain, so it now shows as an unresolvable hostname. Prior to that, CloudFlare had disabled their participation (as a front-end), resulting in timeouts connecting to the site.
To the best of MY knowledge, the site was taken down by court injunction as temporary/permanent relief in response to a DMCA-based lawsuit. - gaytorrents.net (no dash, different TLD, diffrent site owners, different software running the site AND trackers) has had some recent issues with their DNS - likely a change was made to the server IPs, and there were propagation delays in getting the front-ends (load balancers, etc) aligned - but that's conjecture.
AS OF TODAY, May 19 in North America, gay-torrents.org is no longer resolving, but gaytorrents.net is operating normally again.
One last comment: ORG got shutdown, according to news reports, because they FAILED to respond to DMCA requests to remove torrents. THIS SITE DOES NOT IGNORE DMCA requests, as many users have vociferously complained when their torrents were removed in response to DMCA action. Now you see WHY!
Not that it's 100% effective, but the site policy HERE to actually act on DMCA requests should help prevent this from happening here.
All opinions expressed are mine and mine alone, and all facts stated here are true at the time of reporting and to the best of my own personal knowledge. No other warranty is expressed or implied.

You forgot "All characters appearing in this work are fictitious. Any resemblance to real persons, living or dead, is purely coincidental"

RE: bigstrongbigpower | Dean The Machine - OnlyFans
@argbear It might be worth reading the site rules again. Then you can join the elite club of about 30 or 40 people who actually have. Requests for content have been banned across the whole site for some years now, Mods regularly hand out temp bans and follow up with permanent ones for repeat offenders. If you desperately want to request something then you need to do it on another site.
I know I come across as snarky, but what I'm telling you is in your best interests.

RE: Torrents comments not displaying in dark theme
@dereksarte They're fine for me. Try clearing your cookies maybe? (No idea why that might help, but it's always one of the first things anyone says when I have a problem anywhere. Internet, car, headache... Everyone just says to clear cookies.)

RE: strong_hands4
@omgblank No. Next question.
In all seriousness though, it might be worth reading the site rules again. Then you can join the elite club of about 30 or 40 people who actually have. RE: How do you shave your balls?
I don't. I go and se a nice man who does a full back, sac and crack wax. Lasts longer than shaving and avoids stubble.

RE: Not Happy re 90 Day Suspension.
@MrMazda But uploading genuine files from your collection results in a 90 day ban with no warning so whats the difference?
Could you please clarify what you mean by "genuine files?" Do you mean files that you yourself have created without including any material by other studios or creators, because thos are the only files that would be immune to other parties sending takedown requests. Otherwise my original comment applies.

RE: Which video could this be?
I don't know if that's one of his aliases, but to me it look like Lexx Parker.

RE: Not Happy re 90 Day Suspension.
@ianfontinell I recognise the sarcasm, but don't even joke about that. There are so many examples floating around the site like oily turds that people might actually think its acceptable.

RE: Is gay-torrents.net down?
@rentboy Its probably worth noting that this thread is over a year and a half old and referencing gay-torrents.net. Gay-area.org is an entirely different site.
And yes, gay-area.org is down for everyone. It happens. It'll be back in a few hours probably.

RE: Not Happy re 90 Day Suspension.
@w0lf While I'm not sure if its publicly documented the policy of banning members for repeated DMCA strikes is not new. I understand your pain, especially as nobody knows what material is most likely to attract a strike outside of a couple of well-known studios. (A large, well-know Czech twink site springs to mind immediately.) If one of your uploads ever gets removed then I would strongly advise that you don't post anything else from that studio or creator, as they are obviously monitoring things.
Sometimes you will find vids from such sources on the site, and if they do survive it is pargely down to them not being well-labelled or attributed to the source. I would guess that publishing a list of the most aggressive DMCA issuers would attract even more attention, and perhaps mix in even more legal issues which nobody wants to see.
I'm sorry it happened to you, but in the interests of the site as a whole it is perhaps necessary to offer up a sacrificial lamb to prevent more problems. At least its only 90 days and not permanent, which really would be a pain.
As for "What happened to sharing the files??" well when someone has copyright on them they have the right to demand that we don't. The only saving grace is that they have to make specific, targetted requests to remove them. We should all thank our lucky stars that blanket takedowns aren't a thing (yet.)
Anyway, welcome back.

RE: Upload activity not registering
Can I ask for a bit more specific information?
-
What is your total downloaded from the site as shown on your profile page?
-
What is your total downloaded from the site as shown on your profile page?
-
What is your reported ratio on your profile page?
-
Please take a screenshot of the Uploaded column in your client and hang onto it for a day or 2
-
After a couple of days of uploading take another screenshot and post both here, along with the refreshed info from your profile page.
I'd like to rule out that this isn't simply an issue of scale. I've uploaded nearly 130TB over the years, so it takes a fair bit of upload traffic to see any movement. providing the info above will make it possible to calculate what we think your numbers should be and establish if there's actually an issue and how big it is.

RE: Ratio Probrem
In simple terms, don't look at the traffic figures on the website. You need to look at the upload traffic for that torrent reported by your client. You take that number, dumb it down a bit to allow for the possibility of some lost packets and then compare that to the stats in your profile page AFTER allowing an hour or so to ensure that the client and website have had a chance to sync up.
As Kevin4fm said, in the right set of circumstances its entirely possible that the original uploader may only actually upload slightly more that the total size of their torrent IF the swarm decides that its more beneficial to share portions of the upload from leechers.
Finally, since there's a load of work going on behind the scenes as the site gets updated its entirely possible that there may be a few hiccups. If anyone doesn't want to put up with that then perhaps take a break for a week and then come back and see if things are working the way you think they should. There's also the helpdesk, which is arguably a better place to ask about this as they can see your figures. Without the actual numbers from your client and profile anyone offering help here is just guessing.

RE: AT RISK torrent thread - "official"
Hi Everyone!
Looking for seeders for the following torrents please? :
Bentley Race Pack 1A - Some Updates
Bentley Race Pack 2A - Some Updates
Tomas Kyle [BentleyRace.com]
Bentley Race. Sarpa Van Rider Collection
Jason Moore on Bentley Race
Dante DeMoro on Bentley Race
Thank you so much!
Just so everyone is aware, back in the original thread it was noted that it would be helpful to keep things to 3 requests per post as it help the mods to not miss items.

RE: Would downloading my uploaded torrents, mess up my ratio or use my download limits?
Look at it this way:
You upload a 2GB film to the site, and lots of people download it. You may 30 to 100GB of upload traffic as people download it from you because you're sending the same pieces of the file to multiple people.
You then delete your local copy of the file, but a year later you decide you want to watch it again, so you download it from the site. That download is only going to be 2GB, i.e. the actual size of the original file you uploaded. So what you've done is uploaded perhaps 100GB and downloaded 2GB, leaving you with a net gain of 98GB.
The danger of trying to "store" your films this way is that there's a chance that others will delete, re-encode, trim or somehow change the file to suit their own needs, meaning that the original file you uploaded might have disappeared resulting in a dead torrent. You might have to resort to a reseed request, but then you're relying on someone having the original file, actually reading their messages and seeing the automated request, and then hunting through their drives trying to find the files and then bothering to load them into their client.
You might have guessed by now that I've opted for the "I'll just get another USB hard drive" approach myself.

RE: Unable to view some torrents
@ianfontinell That's a good idea. LOL I didn't know how to access it before. Thanks for the link.

RE: Would downloading my uploaded torrents, mess up my ratio or use my download limits?
Anything you download counts against your ratio, even if you were the original uploader. That said, the overall trend will always be positive. Uploading a new torrent will, unless there's only a single leecher, always result in more upload traffic than you'd spend downloading it again.
