@lololulu19 said in Upload privileges revoked for 90 days?:

@fredfranco I think I have been hit with the same penalty.

I didn't have any DMCA issues for several months.. maybe even for over a year.. but 2 days ago I got 3 in less than an hour, and I can't upload anymore.

It seems that all torrents with the word "Staxus" in them have been removed from the system. Removing Staxus from the site is like removing Florida from the map of the USA.

      Sigh...

Some of you act as-if you have an inherent RIGHT to download Staxus content without paying for it!

Having been a member here since 2008, I can tell you that this kind of thing is not new. (Look around: how much Bel Ami or Freshmen content do you see? There are other entire studios that are totally absent as well!)

The site owner has always made it clear: his intent is to provide a platform where people can share their porn, and their thoughts about porn, openly and freely. And when that sharing is demonstrably shown to be in violation of the law, he will abide by the law!

Why is it that you accept the rule about banning pedophilia, but you argue about the rule that says that a legitimate DMCA take down request will be honored?

Sometimes studios go through a "spate" of these things - there was a time when Corbin Fisher was actually SUING people who shared their content online!

Typically, these enforcement periods come and go - ebb and flow... in the meantime, find other porn you like!

    • RE: Why is everything new being deleted from the "Fan Sites" category?

@massafera said in Why is everything new being deleted from the "Fan Sites" category?:

Literally every single torrent is being deleted for the past week, every single one. Admins should be transparent and tell us why this is happening. It's only fair with users! Why would we waste our time uploading huge files and trying to download something if it's just going to be removed in a few hours?

What is happening? Can someone PLEASE explain?

It sounds like a DMCA "sweep"

My understanding of OnlyFans is that THEY claim copyright ownership of the material on their site (apparently in conjunction with the artists? I don't see how that would work...)

So, if that's true, my guess is that OF has some way of accessing this site and they're DMCA'ing the OF content.

      Any other explanation, gentle readers?

    • RE: Onlyfans should have gone under...

@iaman said in Onlyfans should have gone under...:

onlyfans is not a porn site, you shouldn't sub if you don't care about that person

OnlyFans was created to be a forum for artists to create/sell access to their works (originally intended to be art and music) without the need for the "art establishment"...

As has been noted, it turned out that the "art" most people were interested in was pornographic.

At first, OF tried to "turn a blind eye", which failed - 75% of their content providers are peddling pornographic material.
Next, OF tried to "purge the porn", which failed - 75% of their content providers are peddling pornographic material!
NOW they are simply sitting back and squeezing the "goose that laid the golden egg" for as long as the ride lasts...

As for complaints about the contributors, that's like going to the Mall Management to complain that your Mrs. Fields Cookies were stale! If the content sucks, you're following (paying for) the wrong providers! OF is just the "mall management" (or, perhaps more accurately: the flea-market management!) - they are not responsible for the quality of, nor any real part of, the contents that are "for sale"!

For what its worth: I agree that most content on OF is of little to no real value... and when you factor in the time it takes to obtain the material, it's even of negative value!

I can't remember the last OF content I even bothered to D/L from here, much less pay for! But that's not OF's fault! Just like those ultra-cheap socks you bought at the flea market that fell apart the first time you tried to wear them aren't the flea market's problem!

Yes you did your job briliantly, you did solve a "problem" well and you did not harm the community of this formerly russian gay torrent site. And yeah I am a drama queen, for sure

Not that I have a dog in this fight, but I want to be clear - as a 20 year member of this site (as-of this year! - Y'all even REMEMBER 2016?), the original site being gaytor.rent was NOT because it was housed in Russia - rather because registering a site with "gay" in the name wasn't allowed by many TLDs (Top-Level-Domains), and the .ru was not only accepting, but also CHEAP!

YOU pay the overhead costs for a site this size - esp with security needed (DOS and DDOS attacks against a GAY site? never!).

If improvements to the site are something you want, consider making a (or better, more than 1) contribution! This site may be free to you, but it's not free to run it!

Also, even tho they make mistakes, and overreact, and under-react, and otherwise breathe - as-if they were human - I'm very grateful to the staff that runs this site! They are both overpaid and underpaid: they volunteer (or so I'm told)! Without them, this place would be a useless morass of unformatted & unrecognisable data!

    • RE: How to choose a good freeleech torrent to increase my UL?

@setecho said in How to choose a good freeleech torrent to increase my UL?:

I'm pretty layman about it, once I downloaded a torrent that gave me 10 gb of UL. but most just give me kb

Which torrent criteria provide the most UL points?

I've suggested this approach several times before, and I stand by it:

      • The point of downloading a FreeLeech torrent is to get something other people will want to download - AND - to be one of the people that they download it FROM!

The thing to remember about FreeLeeches is that, while the download is free, it's the upload (that still counts) that you're looking for! That, and because a lot of people NEED upload credits, they are VERY POPULAR to download!

So you look at FreeLeech items available right now: the vast majority of them already have TONS of seeders - and may or may not still have leechers.

MOST OF THE FREELEECH torrents you see right now will not help you!

      • After you download the content, you're in competition with dozens or even hundreds of others who are also seeding it already! (As you'll see below: they beat you to the punch!)
      • Because it's been FREELEECH for a while already, MOST of the people who want it, already have it! So the number of leechers coming on NOW is likely to be low.

So, when IS it a good time to get in on the FREELEECH wagon?

      ONLY AT THE START!

When you get in on a FREELEECH at the START of the period in which it's going to be free, there won't be many (usually) seeders yet - and the number of leechers will likely grow quickly. Get in there, get your files, and YOU can be one of those "at the start" who are seeding to dozens of leechers simultaneously.

If you actually want the content - FREELEECHes are good anytime...

If you want seed points from FREELEECHES, get in EARLY - otherwise, there's too much competition. It won't HURT you, but it won't help you the way you want it to, either.

Finally: if the goal is to seed, don't worry about the contents - if the new FREELEECH is masked Asian porn with Sumo Wrestlers - and that's not your thing - STILL download it at the start of the FREELEECH period! You can delete it later, but you want to be EARLY so that the people who DO want this content GET IT FROM YOU!

      I hope this helps....

The problem with this bill is that it (like so many other "social engineering" attempts) solves a problem that either doesn't exist at all, or is already handled by other means.

Let's be clear about this bill though:

      • the PRIMARY FOCUS of the bill is not to ban the teaching of LBGTQ+ concepts to grades K-3... no, that's a no-brainer, and a false-flag designed to disguise the real "meat" of the legislation - which is to empower parents to sue school districts over the teaching of LGBTQ+ positive messages.

This is not unlike the Texas law that empowered pro-lifers to sue abortion providers independently and separately as a method of driving them out of business.

Even so - what, exactly, is a Florida Kindergarten teacher supposed to do next year when 5 y/o Billy draws his family - with himself, his dog, and his two mommies?

Oh, and I want to lend my support to those who correctly identify the "grooming" concepts being touted by some in the media (and the Governor his idiot-self) as being anti-Science (like that's new for them) and fear-mongering at its worst!

You cannot "learn" to be homosexual - but you CAN learn to accept homosexuality as a natural occurrence! One seen in nature far beyond humans and other primates!

    • RE: If your torrents are not uploading or downloading...

ISPs are starting to use this tactic more and more - when they discover torrenting sites, they don't block them on your IP - instead, they stop resolving them in DNS (which, presumably, blocks them for all!)

As noted, one easy solution is to use alternate DNS solutions.

I, personally, use the CloudFlare DNS services at IP addresses 1.1.1.1 & 1.0.0.1. CloudFlare is a major Internet provider - just not in the "last mile" delivery of services. Their DNS servers are non-logging and if you want REAL protection, they offer DNS services over encrypted channels!

Of course, if you use a VPN, the DNS servers you use will usually be those assigned by your VPN provider - which can ALSO be overridden to use the CloudFlare (or other) DNS services!

    • RE: New York undercounted C-19 deaths

      @raphjd
The issue here, if you dig deeper, isn't as controversial as it appears at first glance. FIRST OF ALL: the report is not that they under-reported ALL COVID deaths by 50%! No, they under-counted the deaths IN NURSING HOMES by up to 50%. BIG DIFFERENCE THERE!

If you can remember back, at the early part of the pandemic, NY was taking COVID patients who couldn't be helped (or didn't need ICU attention) in hospitals and sending them to long-term care facilities - many of which were nursing homes. The issue was, they needed the beds in the hospitals, and we didn't know yet that the virus was spread by aerosol (we still thought, at the time, that it was a contact thing).

We can argue later about the tragic consequences on sending COVID patients to nursing homes to die, and the effect that had on COVID in the other nursing home patients...

So, a hospital sends a COVID patient they cannot help to a nursing home - ostensibly to die (remember, back then we didn't have the treatments we have today - that we had just 6-10 weeks later!). And, of course, that person shortly thereafter passes away... from COVID.

Is that a death in the NURSING HOME, or is that a death from the Hospital who sent them there, essentially to die?

Some nursing homes didn't report these as "their deaths" because they weren't their patient before they got COVID! They still had to worry about those numbers being public and the fact that they still wanted to care for patients AFTER the pandemic -- and who wants to go live in a nursing home where thousands of people died from COVID?

An investigation needs to occur, most certainly. But don't expect real-world scenarios to fit neatly into your conveniently labeled boxes.

-- EDIT here -- That last comment came across as somewhat snarky when I re-read my own post. It wasn't meant as such. My point wasn't directed at any one person (@raphjd especially) - rather a point about ALL of us (even me) who would like to have "life" fit into neat, clearly defined categories... and that's just not the real world in which we live.
There is actually very little BLACK AND WHITE in our world - it's truly a RAINBOW of colors.... and while that makes organizing and categorizing (and understanding) things much more difficult, it is also what makes life so wonderful! IMHO

      @lololulu19

You've made this same complaint over an over - at what point to you realize: no one here cares that you were punished, even though you have a large personal library and have been rather generous (by your own measure) with sharing that content.

      2 things:

      1. When they remove the torrents here, they are not affecting the library you have on your computer at all... can't you beat off to the OLDER Staxus content that you already have? (Specifically: so no one misunderstands: what I'm really saying here is that, once you download - or even when you upload - the site has no direct ties to the files on your system, and there are no trackers (sorry for the use of the torrenting term) either (though there USED to be some watermarked content, this site no longer does that - if it ever was done BY THE SITE to begin with!)

      2. Your analogy to a library is badly flawed: If I purchase the latest novel from Steven King, read it, then give it to the library to allow others to read it too, that's one thing.
But if I take Mr. King's novel, copy all of the pages onto loose-leaf paper, then sit outside the bookstore with a little sign that says "Why buy this novel? I'll give you a copy of mine for free!"
It'd be one thing if we had purchased DVDs of this material (or, more modernly NFTs?) and mailed them to each other... but, this ain't that...

If you're so dedicated to the content from Staxus, spend the $200/yr to subscribe to their site! The models you love so much can then be paid to perform!

Others (like @raphjd - the Administrator of these Forums) have been around a long (long... long...) while!

The viewpoint you espouse here - that anyone who disagrees with you cannot possibly be a conservative - and constantly labeling them (us) as "*liberal", as-if it was a dirty word - is going to be the death of the Conservative movement (or, here in the US, the Republican Party).

Thank God for old style Conservatives, like US Congressman Adam Kinzinger: a smart, honorable, politician who has declined to fall for (or accept) the cult of personality or the dependence on lies and conspiracy theories that have overtaken the conservative parties of both the US and UK.

So you know: the only PAC I gave money to in the 2020 election cycle was...

      (drumroll)....

The Lincoln Project... a Conservative, Republican PAC that opposed the re-election of Donald Trump. Count me a proud Conservative who is also a never-Trumper...

But don't worry: I'm not a slave to labels. I'm a registered Republican now: but, I won't stay with a political party that refuses to accept hard data, denies science, and depends on lies and conspiracy theories to convince weak minds of its rightness. And, as an American, I absolutely will not fall into a cult of personality!!!

    • RE: National Debt Exceeds $123 Trillion, or Nearly $800,000 per Taxpayer

Americans are incredibly gullible... almost to the point of being stupid.

Does it seem like the Government is just printing more money? Really?

      It should!

Because that's exactly what's happening! We're not "selling treasury bonds" to pay for COVID... we're just "printing money!!!" -- and we (Americans) can actually do this (and get away with it) because we're the "default" currency for the rest of the world (technically: the "reserve" currency).

The "concept" of US Government debt comes from a time when our currency and "money supply" were tied to "the Gold Standard" (and GOLD was the world's "Reserve Currency")... today, this ain't that! Back then, the world's economies were a "zero sum game" - for me to make more money, someone had to lose money - because there was a finite amount of gold to go around. There is no reason for that anymore - we can ALL get $1400 in cash, and ALL "win" -- without there being ANY losers, because we (technically, the US Treasury) can LITERALLY just print more money!

One of the first times we "dipped into" the idea of just pumping cash into the economy (with no real "debt" as a result) was the economic crisis that Obama inherited... only thing was, they were dumb enough to think that the "right way" to inject all that cash into the economy was to "give" it to the banks! After all, if you give THEM the money, they'll LEND IT!!! Right? That's what banks do? Lend money? (Edit: I should give credit where it is due: It was George W Bush's administration that thought up of the idea of "quantitative easing" and resolving the banking crisis with a cash injection - Obama inherited the solution! He just had to execute it, and he did that poorly... to be kind to him!)

Nope... and that's why the "economic recovery" under Obama was so unbearably slow... Banks propped up their balance sheets with that cash... bought back stock with that cash... paid HUGE bonuses to their executives with that cash... and loaned VERY LITTLE of that cash!

Trump and the Republicans were far smarter when it became clear that COVID was was CRUSHING our economy in 2020... f**k the banks, give the cash DIRECTLY to the American People! They'll do what the banks didn't: they'll SPEND IT!

Prudent people would pay off their debts (credit cards, back rent)... that's what the "professionals" (the banks) did last time.... but that's not American! No, we BOUGHT SHIT! And it WORKED!

The problem with that formula, though, is that when you put soo much (too much) cash into the economy, there is inflation... keep it up and you can ALSO get yourself back to the 1970's nightmare: stagflation (inflation with a stagnant economy!)

Long story short - we're not borrowing the $2T for COVID relief (or, the $3T for infrastructure, if that passes)... we're just "injecting it" into the economy... in layman's terms: we're just printing money!

It's only disinformation because you don't like what is being said.

You believe everything that CNN, Rachel Maddow, and Joy Reid pull out of their asses because they hate Trump nearly as much as you do. You don't care that they have been proven to be liars several times.

There you go again with the inflammatory and incendiary ranting...

For something to be a lie, it doesn't just have to be wrong, the person stating it has to KNOW - right then and there - that it is wrong... AS they are saying it!

When I walk into the door of your home and smell the dinner in the oven, I can honestly, say "dinner smells wonderful"... when I later learn that dinner is going to be Swansons in the microwave, and that what I smelled was your neighbor's BBQ... I didn't lie! But I sure as hell was wrong!

I don't watch Rachel Maddow (or any other show on MSNBC) - any more than I watch the non-news shows on Fox News... I generally don't look to the "talking heads" to tell me what I should think.

I honestly don't know who Joy Reid is at all...

I happen to know about the "national debt" (and the paper-tiger that it is) because I studied it during my MBA education. Yes, I would say my professor was a liberal... no, I wouldn't say he was wrong (at least not about everything).... He had some ideas I thought were liberal (and wacky), but the majority of the class was about economic facts - and how to tell the fact from the opinion. Also, how to detect "spun" facts.

It was the 2nd time I'd heard the Mark Twain quote:

to me it's just pathetic how cops shoot people to death the minute the situation becomes a little inconvenient. They rather someone else's life end than working harder to defuse a situation. This is what our taxpayer dollars are going towards?

Many American police departments use militarized training tactics:

      • ELEVATE tensions and exert complete and total control
      • civilians who resist - especially those with weapons - are treated as "enemy combatants" and are open ("eligible") for lethal repercussions

The vast majority of US law enforcement are never trained in de-escalation techniques, nor are they rewarded for non-violent interventions that defuse a situation, thus avoiding an arrest... to the contrary, they are often evaluated based on the number of arrests made.

A commonly cited, but equally true statement about US law enforcement training is sad, but telling: in most jurisdictions you need more hours of training to become a hair stylist than to become a police officer.

@jsl76 said in Teenage knife fights are no big deal, say liberals:

What it really boils down to is this: Under the current policing and use-of-force logic in most U.S. police departments, the shooting of Bryant was appropriate and justified. It's tragic, to be sure. But it fell within the scope of the officer's training. There's room to disagree as to whether this ought to be the logic of most police forces -- but that's a different, broader argument. People will disagree, but given the reality of the situation, I don't see an alterative that makes any sense. The Bryant case is a very, very weak hook for "police should be less violent" arguments, because there are many other, better, cases to shoehorn that perspective.

The real question isn't whether the officer did what he was trained to do: when presented with a potentially dangerous situation, escalate to the point of forced action, then overwhelm the offender with lethal violence. (Let's be clear: he brought a gun to a knife fight!)

No, the real questions are these:

      • Are we properly training our police... at all (regardless of the role we want them to play!)?
      • Do we want to train our police officers to be "protectors" or to be para-military "enforcers"?
      • Are we enabling our police officers to do anything BUT escalate and control?
      • Are we glorifying the "SWAT" and other violence-based, militarized police units (which have a role, no question) to the detriment of the increasingly rarefied "beat cop" who establishes relationships with citizens and seeks to "keep the peace" (vs. "enforce the law")....

When a cop today encounters an enraged woman flashing a knife, should he:
      a) draw his weapon and eliminate the threat - real or potential - with lethal force, as quickly as possible, or
      b) try to de-escalate the situation: try to calm her down, convince her to drop the weapon and then arrest her, or
      c) get other people away from the situation (to safety) & then try to get more information about what led to the current crisis... try to understand the situation, and find a non-violent solution

When the situation is over, what is the desired (most likely to be rewarded) result?
      a) the perpetrator is in a body bag and everyone else is safe
      b) the perpetrator is in handcuffs and everyone else is safe
      c) the perpetrator is in the back of the squad car, on the way to a hospital to be evaluated, and everyone else is safe?

Honestly, in today's policing, the answers here are a) and a)... and that is frightening!
