This is a case where Conservative Media was on this and essentially forced the hand of MSM to pick it up.

To be clear tho, things aren't as bad as the right-wing media makes it out to be. From Newsweek's article:

• The kid (remember, s/he's a kid) who is accused is "gender fluid" - and yes, that apparently gives them access to use the girl's restroom... but sexual assault can happen virtually anywhere. Let's not forget that MANY cultures DO NOT separate bathrooms based on gender at all!
• The dad who was arrested was NOT arrested at the SB meeting for what he said, he was arrested because when he was approached and grabbed by a police officer, he reacted violently. I can't say as I blame him - but the policy being debated by the SB that night had nothing to do with bathrooms - it was a policy requiring school personnel to use the pronouns that the students request to be used for them.
• The school reported the incident to law enforcement, who asked them NOT to interfere with the investigation. It wasn't a "cover up", it was the school doing what they were asked to do by law enforcement - including NOT releasing information about an ongoing investigation.

NONE of that lessens the fact that TWO separate girls have reported assaults by this same individual.

BUT neither has there been any arrest or charges filed - it's not inconceivable that these stories are made up BECAUSE they're (the accusers are) transphobic!

THAT'S why we have police - to investigate and figure out what's fact and what's not.

It's a bad situation - a real shit-show - there right now... and there are either 2 cis-female victims of a very disturbed trans student, or there is a trans-female student being horribly victimized by these 2 girls.

Honestly, the best we can do right now is WAIT for the police to investigate....

• Newsome did re-iterate that his group would (again) take action should they feel the NYPD is targeting their community, stating "We will be at his front door, we will be at Gracie Mansion, we will be in the streets if he allows these police to abuse us."
• But Newsome also clarified in the same, written, statement: "I am not threatening anyone. I am just saying that it's a natural response to aggressive oppression, people will react."
• On Thursday, Mayor-Elect Adams reiterated his campaign vow to reinstate the plainclothes cop units. He also downplayed Newsome's comments regarding an uproar occurring if the undercover cops return, stating: "They didn't say any of that in the meeting" Wednesday.
• Adams added: "I ran on a very clear message: My city will not be unsafe and that is what we're going to do. Clear plan: Putting together a plainclothes anti-gun unit—that will happen—and the city is going to be safe."
• Adams also took a shot, Thursday, at the power of Newsome's group (one of several under the BLM "banner" in NYC), telling the NY Post that the group is "not representative of the Black Lives Matter movement" and adding (regarding the "threats" of violence as the Post was reporting) that he didn't think their group "had the power" to organize itself that widely.

So - lots of important parts to the story, but no threats of riots (just predictions that they would come if the NYPD targeted their communities again).

More importantly (to my mind): this is just more PROOF that the Dems can't govern! For all of their pie-in-the-sky talk when they're on the outside looking in, they can't even agree to fight crime during a crime wave when they're "in power"....

Personally, while I love the anti-Dem reporting, I could do without the hyperbolic twisting of the facts... they (Dems) SUCK at actual governing well enough, we don't have to give them ammunition to argue back by inflating the truth!

My point being, the article I quoted was not flattering to Biden (as @raphjd so gleefully pointed out) - but it did reveal his assertion that Biden was too new in the Senate to have made the trip (as a Senator) at all (if you ask me, the now-President keeps recalling this trip because it was his FIRST (obviously) as a Senator, and it made an impact on him), was wrong. And with that being wrong, his hyperbolic claim that Biden was lying all around falls apart - Biden got one thing wrong: the name of the war.

Truth matters - and that's the biggest problem I have with Trumpist followers: not that the ideas they have are so wrong, but that they keep trying to sell people on them with "misinformation" and divisive, hyperbolic rhetoric... and that's not helpful... IMHO.

On my PC, 10 times (spread over 10 days) I visit the forum, this issue appears 10 times and never auto resolves.

At least for me (and everyone else I've heard from), if you just wait about 20 seconds after you get the notice that the connection is lost, it restores itself.

I was 35 and content to know I was unlikely to ever have children of my own... then (and I'm not joking) the condom broke once, and my daughter was conceived. I married her mother (I did love her, and she/we were great for about 10 years! Then her mother had a stroke and moved in with us, and my wife turned into a very wicked witch). We tried to have more biological kids, but complications during my daughter's birth left her unable to carry more children... so we became foster parents, and along the way we adopted... and adopted... and adopted! All told, I have 9 beautiful children (and one.... no, they're all beautiful, all unique [no full-blood brothers or sisters], and all joys in my life)

I lived a wild live until 35, and you could make a case for it being a WILD almost-25 years since then... but I have no regrets! My kids are all awesome, each in their own way!

that would be a duplicate... However, a Mod told me once (when I uploaded a potential duplicate) that ADDING Subtitles to non-porn videos counted as NOT a duplicate...

But, in the example above, you REMOVED subtitles. So it's a dupe.
Just another note: Mods DO care about subtitles, they DO NOT care about pics added to a torrent - so if you upload a torrent that is a dupe, but you added 1000 pics to the torrent, it is STILL a dupe!

NOTE: This is MY UNDERSTANDING of the rules... to get an OFFICIAL "ruling" you should post something in the Help Desk. (On the Torrent side of the site, under Support)

Keep in mind that you're not downloading from or through this site itself. While you download a "tiny" little torrent file from gaytorrents.ru, you're actually getting the contents (or bits of content) from the seeders DIRECTLY. That's the whole point of the torrent technology: no one source, no one person's upload limit to slow you down. (e.g.: 1 seeder on dial-up at 56kbps gets supplemented by 10 seeders on dial-up at 56kbps equaling up to 560kbps - on dial-up! Now consider that many people have service with 2Mbps, or like me, 25Mbps, and apply the multiplier... and zoom!!)

Still, the path from their content to your system does not go through the tracker. The software endpoints (the seeder and you, the leecher) report back to the tracker about how much you've downloaded (or uploaded).

Something to keep in mind: my ISP regularly sees huge amounts of content coming and going from my IP address on my "torrent port" and they will throttle that port. (It's in the agreement you "signed" when you got your high-speed connection).
My fix for that is to change my port weekly. It's rather simple: Look in your torrent client settings, change the port, then (if you ever even had it open) login to you router and change the port forward you put in there for your torrent seeding.

I think you're missing my point....

There are always going to be errors in the accounting of who actually died from COVID-19, and who didn't.

FOR EXAMPLE:
So a guy who is in stage-4 renal failure - has 3-months to live and is awaiting a kidney transplant... and he gets COVID-19 and dies in... 3-months! Did the COVID-19 kill him? Or was it the lack of a kidney for transplant?

.... and what if he was HIV+ (not on meds), had type-1 diabetes, and was a heavy smoker too?

The truth is, there is SELDOM a SINGLE cause of death in real hospitals - real life just isn't that fragile.

With regard to COVID, though - it has been a moving target from the beginning! We learn more and more every day, and hindsight is 20/20... so while we know now that the decision to place COVID patients in nursing homes to die had TRAGIC, even horrific, consequences... but they didn't know that then.

That DOESN'T MEAN it shouldn't be investigated - improving our knowledge of how we got here isn't a bad thing.

But complaining that the weatherman got the wind speed wrong in the middle of a hurricane is kind-of pointless. What was important (at the time) was that there was a storm in the first place!
Learning the ACTUAL statistics will be important in the aftermath, but it is of no real value to blame the weatherman for getting the specifics wrong while in the middle of the storm (unless, the TRUTH WAS that there was no storm at all to begin with)... but I'm hoping that's not your claim: that COVID isn't "real"...

There are known issues with the forum site. It is believed that the issue is with the load-balancer service (CloudFlare).

The issue self-resolves, so it is not a high-priority item to the admins.

Look for newly minted freeleech torrents - they generate a LOT of traffic! If you "get in early" you can seed the masses who come after. (Not much value - for ratio - in downloading and seeding older freeleech torrents, as there are so many seeders, you won't get much action...)

MP4 and M4V are the same file type - the extensions are interchangeable.

Post at your own risk - but, unless you make a habit of it, I don't hear any complaints about mods punishing people who post dupes. So, I don't think there's much "risk"

Many torrents that are heavily seeded are "saturated" - that is, there are tons of seeders, but few leechers.

To get upload credits (not points), you need to be seeding torrents that people are actually downloading!

But keep seeding those "dying" (leecher-less) files! You get POINTS just for making them available.. 600 points = 10 GB of upload credit!

Look at some of the NEWEST posts - they typically get the most action!
