It goes back to the video I previously posted where BLM admits that they are there solely to protect black criminals.
I do LOVE IT when the Dems elect one of their own to office & then immediately turn on them when they don't "toe the line" on every liberal (aka: progressive) nutball idea out there!
But, in typical @raphjd fashion (ok, typical Russian Misinformation Troll-Farm fashion), he takes Dem infighting and proclaims it a nuclear conflict!
Once again, read your own story:
- a NYC BLM leader, Hawk Newsome, predicted (not threatened) that there may be "bloodshed & riots" if newly elected NYC Mayor Eric Adams (a Black Man) keeps his campaign promise of reinstating the NYPD undercover anti-crime unit - one that previously had been targeted at (nearly exclusively) Black & Latino neighborhoods, and disbanded in 2020 as a result.
- When shown the Right-Wing media reports (like @raphjd's source) - proclaiming a threat of violence, Newsome himself claimed that he was talking about Adams' campaign promises - and noted that when he personally spoke to Mayor-Elect Adams on Wednesday, he was bothered that they "didn't offer a comment on police reform" during those talks.
- Newsome did re-iterate that his group would (again) take action should they feel the NYPD is targeting their community, stating "We will be at his front door, we will be at Gracie Mansion, we will be in the streets if he allows these police to abuse us."
- But Newsome also clarified in the same, written, statement: "I am not threatening anyone. I am just saying that it's a natural response to aggressive oppression, people will react."
- On Thursday, Mayor-Elect Adams reiterated his campaign vow to reinstate the plainclothes cop units. He also downplayed Newsome's comments regarding an uproar occurring if the undercover cops return, stating: "They didn't say any of that in the meeting" Wednesday.
- Adams added: "I ran on a very clear message: My city will not be unsafe and that is what we're going to do. Clear plan: Putting together a plainclothes anti-gun unit—that will happen—and the city is going to be safe."
- Adams also took a shot, Thursday, at the power of Newsome's group (one of several under the BLM "banner" in NYC), telling the NY Post that the group is "not representative of the Black Lives Matter movement" and adding (regarding the "threats" of violence as the Post was reporting) that he didn't think their group "had the power" to organize itself that widely.
So - lots of important parts to the story, but no threats of riots (just predictions that they would come if the NYPD targeted their communities again).
More importantly (to my mind): this is just more PROOF that the Dems can't govern! For all of their pie-in-the-sky talk when they're on the outside looking in, they can't even agree to fight crime during a crime wave when they're "in power"....
Personally, while I love the anti-Dem reporting, I could do without the hyperbolic twisting of the facts... they (Dems) SUCK at actual governing well enough, we don't have to give them ammunition to argue back by inflating the truth!
