@cp2000 The 3 white things are WiFi smart switches (well... plugs). The ones for the cable equipment are tied to the WiFi on the DSL line, and the ones for the DSL line are tied to the cable WiFi so that I can remotely reboot one network at a time from anywhwere. The bigger white thing I think is a scam. It's supposed to somehow modify the wave frequency of the hydro (electric) service to reduce your bills, but I think they're a blatant scam.

I use the premium version of Cyberghost VPN. No noticeable drop in speed and performance. And I download torrents moderately and frequently change IP location

We must celebrate any modest success over the rampant technology  I'm not quite sure I read the bit about search and clicking correctly. Whether you had VLC already open for that. Have you tried clicking on a file in Search without VLC open just to see what happens? I have no idea if anything will be different but it might be worth a try. Not sure where it takes you after that. Click/double-click, entirely a matter of personal choice. I choose single click because I am very lazy. You will have to explore the mTorrent jungle without me I don't understand torrents, except to upload and download them (and getting them deleted), mostly without bother. And I only ever use uTorrent 3.0 these days. Good luck

First, potential upload speed is (nearly?) always a low fraction of potential upload speed - my ISP offers 100 mbs down/6 mbs up. Second, what are paying for that makes you think you are not getting a good speed. Third have you tested the maximum speed of your connection using something like http://www.speedtest.net/ (only click on the 'Begin Test' button. Fourth, remember your speeds are only as good as the speeds at the other end. But it can be frustrating…

@MrMazda: I would be inclined to recommend the Kodi app… It's the app that Android TV uses. From my experience, with the right add-ons, you name the content and it's there. You will never have to pay for cable tv ever again with the Kodi app.... You can get it at through the following link: http://kodi.tv/download/ ***** Note: If you're using Ubuntu, you can also get this app by doing the following: sudo apt-add-repository ppa:team-xbmc/ppa sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install kodi Once installed, you will want to add the Genesis add-on, as it seems to be the most popular add-on for watching just about everything. You can find instructions on how to install the Genesis add-on at https://seo-michael.co.uk/how-to-manually-install-gotv-for-xbmc/ I need to try this.  :blind:

Just looking, and I notice that I have the "42.0 beta update channel" version. In computer-ese, "beta" usually means "being tested," and thus is typically less stable/more buggy, yes? Perhaps i should re-install a slightly older version.

If you're asking what player is best to play the video files that the torrents contain, the default media player that comes pre-installed generally works perfectly fine for me. If you're referring to torrent client in which to download the torrent's contents, I would recommend uTorrent for Android, although realistically, just about any Android Torrent app will suffice to retreive the torrent's content.

It's best to use one of the servers which allow file sharing, I doubt CA does (pretty sure). I use a NL server and my speeds are fine. Also go into the advanced settings in the PIA client and enable port forwarding if you haven't. Mouse over the tray icon to get the port # PIA is using, then enter it into the utorrent connection settings. Don't port forward on your router if you use one, not needed. The port # will change each time you connect so you'll have to update it in uT.

I strongly discourage the use of Edge or any other Microsoft product for that matter. Not only does it use the same base technology as Internet Explorer is based on, but like all things Microsoft, it also comes with some potentially serious security hole potentials, depending on how you use it.

it stores your torrent for limited period of time. However, you are able to watch video and listen to music online using any device. This part. I suppose you need to pay to keep the torrents alive there. It's a cool idea, but I don't like the idea that they will disappear in a needed moment ahem lol

Thanks for the tip. I hadn't thought of doing it that way. I move the whole torrent into a new location. Then I right-click on the torrent in the main window and choose Advanced/Set Download Location and then point to the new location. You may have to 'start' the torrent again. Another thing to remember is that you can choose the download location before you start downloading. A lot of people seem to have a default download folder in uTorrent. I don't I choose the folder each time I download. If you click on the arrow at the right of the save as dialog you will get a list of recent folders and you can always go into Explore mode by ysing the little box with … on

If you are trying to increase your ratio you could use the manual upload page - it's not difficult as long as you remember to download and seed your own torrent. Otherwise you try the freeleech torrents
