@cp2000 The 3 white things are WiFi smart switches (well... plugs). The ones for the cable equipment are tied to the WiFi on the DSL line, and the ones for the DSL line are tied to the cable WiFi so that I can remotely reboot one network at a time from anywhwere. The bigger white thing I think is a scam. It's supposed to somehow modify the wave frequency of the hydro (electric) service to reduce your bills, but I think they're a blatant scam.

Late response but it may help someone else. You are inserting another point in your network traffic…. there is always going to be some impact to bandwidth no matter what the service states. Switch to another server that is closer to your location. If you are trying to get around region-based IP blocks try switching to another server &/or location in your client. The server you;re on could simply be overloaded. One with fewer users could be noticeably faster. If you are torrenting kill IPv6. A lot of providers do not fully support IPv6 and leaking occurs. Check with your provider to find out if they fully support it and hit the those "what is my IP" pages to see if you have leaks. Some specificly target IPv6.

Sounds bit like a silly rant. Not sure you even understand the subject.

@eobox91103: Thanks very much for the information! Both my desktop workstation, and laptop ("Latitude" series, not a workstation but still high end), have SSD for the primary drive.  I have lots of backup drives, always synched (they're so cheap these days).  I'm not as concerned about losing data as I am the overall hassle, but you're giving me courage.  I might try it on the laptop first. If you do give it a try make a backup image of your drive this is so it's easy to restore if you ever want to go back also recommend them to people in case they ever run into problems it's better way to revert back then using things like system restore. I find it's better to keep Win 7 on laptop if that is what it was built for and then try out new stuff on main system which should be less hassle anyway laptops can be lot more annoying. Don't buy Win10 if you do give it a try or activate it you have 30 days free use only if you like it then activate or purchase a key online for like $10 it's pro version you want. I expect you may not stick with it but it's your choice i really dislike win 10 but i have it on one of my machines due to intel on latest chipset forced people to use it. it's also worth looking into things like open-shell to give it back more of the old style

No Debrid site covers those two hosts. I did see one multi host site claiming to offer with small daily limits for those two but can't 100% say if it really works (linkifier) Upstore is iffy company which is why you don't see many offering it also expensive for restricted bandwidth limits.

Just an FYI in the RULES. GayTorrent.ru takes the privacy of it's members seriously. Therefore do not post your real name, address, e-mail address or IP in the torrent's presentations, torrent comments or forum. Please exchange personal information by PM only with members you trust.

No worse than the idiots who screw up the quality of studio rips just so they can put their 'ownership' logo on them. I see the gay-bb logo on a downloaded file and my heart sinks. It ususally goes straight to trash because the guy who makes those gay-bb rips does not know wtf he's doing. Then there are those who download a 100-200 MB file from a free site and set about 'converting it to HD', at ten to twenty times the orginal file size, in the belief that they are making a 'much higher quality rip'. No. Unless you have some very expensive hardware and know what you are doing, you are simply turning a small crappy file into a much bigger crappy file. There are so many bad rips out there. Why would anyone want to make yet another?

uTorrent and likely these other apps too are all 32bit applications, for which macOS Catalina removed support. To put in simply, Mac apps (but really, virtually all modern computer applications) usually come in 2 "flavours": 32bit or the more modern 64bit. The difference is pretty technical, but in practice this means the at the OS level, 32bit Mac apps are not at all compatible with Catalina - they simply will not run. Seeing how macOS is closed course, the problem will likely not be solvable by users anytime soon… Bet advice I can give: for torrents, switch to Transmission, and for Zip/Rar extraction use The Unarchiver

I thinks here is a way (maybe a mean way) to avoid users to upload garbage pictures and bumping the main picture… The answer is: Upload at least 10 pictures for a torrent, making the last one to be uploaded the main picture.

@eobox91103: @xxxygc: I'm getting a lot of stalled torrents when I start downloading them. I'm using qbittorrent v4.1.2, any suggestions on how to fix this would be great. Thanks I'm not exactly sure how you define "stalled," but I find that many torrents seem to take some time to start downloading.  I think it's a "feature" of the system, not of users, because sometimes there can be a dozen or more download-peers, like me, all "connected" but still at 0.0%.  Things eventually get moving after a few minutes, or sometimes as much as a half hour.  I can only recall one time when everyone seemed stalled out for days (and all at 0.0%), and I deleted the torrent and moved on. So, bottom line is I don't think you need to/can tweak anything with your system…just be patient and the stuff will come. Torrents don't stall nearly as often as they did years ago… but still, I don't understand why some torrents go 22mb / second.. while other's creep along at 2k per second.  Even a dial up modem is typically 56k.  22mb is 22000k
