I'm a WASP (White, Anglo-Saxon, Protestant), so Lasagne is the "comfort food" we have for loss (just had a HUGE pan for my father's wake). No, I'm not "really" protestant - but I was RAISED protestant. I don't "practice" any religion right now. Topic for another discussion thread

I've had the Dyson regular stand-up model for a few years, but the attachments weren't long or strong enough to reach all the way under my bed, which is against the wall on two sides. Very recently I solved the problem with the Dyson Cyclone Animal, designed for the hardest-to-reach places.  This long, cordless vacuum is in a category called "Sticks."  It swivels so that you can lower the vacuum virtually level to the ground and get about eight feet under your problem areas.  It also has a ceiling attachment, and a few more that I have yet to consider. With this low-swivel ability comes the drawback of a smaller canister that needs emptying more frequently, but I am cleaning in places I could never reach before.  The two Dysons together (yes, pricey) should handle any need in your house/apartment.

I am spraying all of my house drains with a spray detergent that contains bleach as well, almost once a month and let it sit overnight. I do that preemptively anyway. When I did actually have fruit flies in the house, it seemed as though the kitchen was the problem (although I never leave food outside). However I found out that most came from that little overflow hole in the bathroom sink. So I sprayed the same detergent down there and let it sit overnight and they were gone!

I think the baking soda advice is terrible. Your hair do not get oily after a shower because the shampoo is not strong enough. They do that becuse most shampoos are too harsh to begin with and then the scalp overcompensates for the loss of the much needed healthy oils on it that got stripped away.

What do you mean? If I make soup its always fresh, not canned if that is what you mean. Canned soups are not a thing in my country anyway.

You are right. I apologize for that. @leeniedo: @andergarcia: Light gray is how the walls in my house are painted. Rooms look bigger than they really are. With the amount of posts you leave you might have missed that you already responded to this.

As an Eastern Asian, I would prefer to take off shoes. But I still walk around with my shoes on. As long as it was not yet or dirty, I do not care. It would bother me a lot if someone wears shoes on my bed though.  :blind:

Every week. It depends though. I change it sooner if I make a mess…  ::)

Start from a book, there's plenty of books for beginners in gardening. F.i. "Gaia's Garden: A Guide to Home-Scale Permaculture" by Toby Hemenway. Happy gardening:)

@DonnyDuzDick: Highly advise against plastic for any post fermentation actively producing CO2. But you know, here is where you really want to go and ask: www.homebrewersassociation.org/forum/ and subscribe to their mag (Zymurgy) while you are at it. -donny Thanks, but I avoid forums. They are too often full of people who've just started out yet happily dole out advice or pose as experts. I'd much rather google for answers to any problems I encounter in home brews. From what I have read subsequently, CO2 is simply not an issue unless the caps don't fit properly or are not properly sealed. Plastic sparkling water or soda bottles are designed to cope with pressures far higher than carbonated beer in glass. To avoid 'off' flavours caused by UV light you should not put your beer in clear bottles. Unfortunately clear was all I had. Though they all went in a dark cupboard where no light shines. I tested a 500ml bottle of my first brew. The flavour's still not there yet but the carbonation is fine. If you've made a special beer that you want to age for a few years, plastic is no good. It offers a typical shelf-life of 6-9 months. Not a problem with any of my brews. They won't last that long before being consumed. I'm now about to bottle my fourth ferment, a Turbo Cider based on 20 litres of apple juice, sugar amd yeast. I still bottle in plastic. Unless I wish to pay COVID-19 profiteers' prices for cap or flip-top glass bottles, I'll wait until they are in stock again and at a reasonable price.
