        Buy some plants and start from there.

          An airplant would be great. You need no soil no pot just hanging the airplant on a shaded bright area like windowsill etc.

          Just remember to spray them once 3 days or a week.

            Start from a book, there's plenty of books for beginners in gardening. F.i. "Gaia's Garden: A Guide to Home-Scale Permaculture" by Toby Hemenway. Happy gardening:)
