To be honest, I have no idea about the job in this thread. I might as well lock and unsticky it.

Dear aaliass, Thank you so much for your help. Yes, this is what I lookd for. A colleague of mine showed me the function but she is not able to do it either, her son did it for her when she wrote her books, and she thought she would be able to help me but she buggered up my word document  ;D Thanks again. I tried everything step by step as it is described and now I am reporting to you that I MANAGED! (I'm developing in computing slowly but steadily – thanks to you, guys for your help!)

@looselips: … I did move the ifo/bup files to a new folder but didn't know what to do after that. LOL - read my posting again, slowly not in a hurry: @mgr: … move (from the VIDEO_TS folder) all files with an IFO extension (*.IFO) to a safe place elsewhere (not to damage them) and copy or rename all files with extension .BUP to the same name with extension .IFO **(copy .BUP .IFO) … As said before: you can upload that torrent for me (hint: name it something like damaged rip - for mgr only) and send me a PM

I understand that, but that's not what I meant. The files are there, even though I deleted them. When you delete a file, it should disappear from the hard drive screen and show up in the recycling bin.  In my case, the files are still showing on my hard drive and not in the recycling bin.

Technically it's S-ATA but everyone just uses SATA. SATA is the new way of connecting components inside a computer.  Well, not new exactly, it's already on it's 3rd generation. Serial ATA {don't know what ATA stands for} is much faster and more stable than PATA or Parallel ATA, which is being phased out. Another good thing about SATA is that the the cables are much smaller than their PATA counter parts.  This helps keep the inside of your computer tidy which increases air flow, so you get an extra bonus there as well.

You need to obtain Microsoft's "hotfix" for this. Instructions and a link to download the hotfix is available from this page: hxxp://support.microsoft.com/kb/840781 (Click on "View and request hotfix downloads" at the top of the page to get the hotfix).

Check the file sizes of your converted files, chatman. The ISO standard for DVDs does not allow any single file to exceed 2 GB in size (that's why the 3.65 GB original was split into two files in the first place). Although a standard DVD can hold up to 4.7 GB of data, no single file on the disk may be greater than 2 GB.  Even a long play DVD movie of 4.7 GB is stored on the DVD as a collection of smaller "chapter" files. You don't see that when the movie plays, because the files are usually called sequentially, without any prompt from you. Your burner program may be refusing to write to the DVD because it can't, if you are trying to burn files > 2 GB. Some burner programs won't warn you of this ahead of time, and will attempt to burn the first 2 GB of data to the disk, then the program will hang or crash.

@raphjd: If you keep your computer fully updated with the previous automatic updates, it should only take about 15 minutes {including below}. It will need 1 automatic reboot and 1 manual full shut down to finish. cool, thank you

@trentreviso: ^ Thanks, twinkletoes! I left the other place at the request of a moderator, who felt I was too opinionated. We like opinions here. The only people that are "asked to leave" are people that break the forum rules; ie flaming.  I only know of 1 person who was banned for that in 3 years.

hello. yes, technically you got the point about proxies. no worries, you may use them for anonymization of your transfers. however, there may occure some transfer problems because of the sake of BT protocol which is designed to accept only one connection at a time from the same IP address. nonetheless, some clients have this option variable (like uTorrent) and you can enable or disable the allowance of multiple connections from the same IP address but also you have to be accepted by the other side. uTorrent in default is set to reject multiple connections. this shouldn't cause a big harm to a swarm, still in the theoretical model of all peers with the same IP address this would cause freezing of all transfers.

I don't know about other countries, but in the UK, you can get a cheap OEM version of an operating system by buying it with another computer part; ie a new hard drive. If you need to upgrade your computer anyway, this helps save a bunch of money on the full cost of the operating system.

Hi there.. Thanks for the reply.. I will give that "where is it?" a try tonight. There was another one i tried Which is not bad and that Ant Catalogue (hxxp://www.antp.be/software/moviecatalog/download/) this one lets anyone create script scrapers. Lots of people requesting gay ones but no one's responding. There are a couple of scrapers in it that pull down Gay porn movies but not very discriptive.. Thanks for you help if you or anyone comes across anything please let me know! Joe

I don't plan to "upgrade," either. Microsoft products are just too expensive when you consider you can get free OSs that are even better. I do think that the "XP Mode" will win over a number of businesses and other users, though. That's brilliant. But Win 7 isn't going to win back 95% market share for MS.  They're just gonna have to learn to live with a mere 90%!

marslander, you're NOT going to get the angryyoungmen videos with ANY of the video download tools suggested. The swf player streams the videos online, it doesn't download a video file to some temporary location on your computer. There is no video file stored locally for you to retrieve. That does NOT mean that you can't copy the videos, however. What you need to do is install a serial screen grab utility like CamStudio. Such a tool takes serial screenshots of a portion of your screen (say, for example, the window in which the video plays) and records the audio output for the same duration. The software then recreates the movie by re-assembling the serial screenshots and sound back into a movie. You will lose a small amount of resolution this way, but it is not generally noticeable. And there is no way any site of any kind can ever block this kind of copying. It is not illegal to copy videos by this technique in the USA (it is legally equivalent to photographing your screen with a video camera). CamStudio is just an example. Google "free screen grabbers" and find something that suits you.

I've always hated this too. Most of the stuff you see this way comes from News Groups, because UseNet has a 15mb file size restriction.  However, it doesn't mean that it has to be posted on other sites in the same format. If I get a file in that format and want to post it on other sites, I always unRar/unZip it before posting.   Some times I do leave files with a .exe file in rar format because people tend not to like then in their natural state.
