That is not exact. You have to use GPT partitions instead of MBR partitions, but in both cases, you'll format the partitions with NTFS files system. With Windows, if you want to boot on a GPT partioned drive, you'll need a UEFI main board. It is next to impossible to convert an installed Windows from a MBR disk to a GPT disk.

A "site rip" isn't really the same as a capture from a video. Captures from ( mostly ) flash-videos are usually done with browser-addons. I see that you use Google Chrome, so use the site hxxps://chrome.google.com/webstore/category/extensions?hl=en to search for addons, that fits your needs. Site rips are done with "content downloader", where you specify the filetypes ( avi, mpeg, flv, or whatever ) and search the hole domain for these filetypes to download them afterwards. But be aware, that most of the webmaster know how to secure their files, so that you won't find what your are looking for this easy - and apart from that, this usage of a domain is mostly illegal. Read the terms and conditions of a website to learn more about it.

Is there an option to enter the auth data in xxx downloader? So if you want to download from a pay site you have to login or something. Or does this programm uses the cookies from the browser? You can test this: hxxp://username:[email protected]/… I normaly use wget for "normal" sites flashgot/jdownloader for the rest. Edit: oops, in don't look on the date  ;D

    1. Did you try converting another file, to see if that worked? 2. CovertXtoDVD is about to go to v5xxx, so you are way behind. 3. Is your computer old?  A lot of older computers are struggling with some of the newer video files we've been seeing here. Convert X said immediately after I loaded the file that is was an unrecognized format I'd say that's where the problem lies.  There's probably something wrong with the video file itself.  I've gotten a few "stinkers" over the years and I've made a special folder for the one I think are worth keeping.

The first thing you need to be clear about, is that you got two IP addresses: 1/ Your public IP of your modem/router to the outside world. Here a static IP eases the tracking if one is asking your ISP about the identity of the user of that IP. If that IP is allocated dynamically by you ISP, he likely keeps log files for some period (may be 6 months or so, I don't know USA laws), which together with time information will enable to identify the subscriber. Though this has been proven to be not 100% reliable. 2/ You local network, typically using IPs in the 192.168.0.xxx or 192.168.1.xxx ranges reserved for this local uses. Your router will give each device connected it's own IP in your local network. It gots a function called port forwarding or Network Address Translation (NAT) to send an incomming request on a port to a specifique device. This works only if you give in your PC network connection properties a fixed local IP (or all your torrent programme, computer system and touter/modem support and have activated UPnP, respectively the Mac equivalent NAT-PMT) Think to this your PC being a visitor in a hotel with a manual telephone switch board. Your router/modem being the rectionist. Someone calls the hotel telephone number (public IP) and ask for guest (port) X, the receptionist looks which room he got and connects to his room number (local IP). If that is not set-up correctly, incomming request will usually not reach your torrent programme and will not be answered, result lower seeding rates.

I use ACDSee to manage my picture but I doesn't really have a duplicate find function.  It can mass rename files and indexes thumbnails for preview pretty fast though. It also has a edit/enhance function to correct picture on the fly. I've used it for years now.  There's probably something better out there but I'm used to it.

Although reformatting is an option, I don't think it's going to be necessary in this case. I can likely save you the frustration of having to restore everything after having reformatted and re-installed… ESPECIALLY if you don't have a secondary hard drive (or at least partition) in which to store your content on, separate from the hard drive/partition that you keep your data on. If you need further assistance, you have my number. If you don't know where you've put it, PM me and I can send it to you again, or I can call you... I still have your number saved in my phone

Windows 7 comes with a built in tool called "Snipping Tool", formerly known in the beta and RC versions as "Snip-It". I have used this personally a few times to grab screen shots of videos. Play the video, then pause it at your desired point and wait for the controls to disappear. From there, open the snipping tool and select the video. You can find this in the following location: Start > All Programs > Accessories > Snipping Tool It's a little primitive, but it works.

I had a very similar thing happen on my Yahoo mail account a couple of months ago, as did someone else I know on their hotmail. I only realised mail had been sent out by the undelivered messages bouncing back from defunct addresses on my list. I'm ultra cautious when it comes to anti-virus/malware so I was puzzled how it could happen. All I could think of was shortly before, I had clicked on one of those irritating 'chat requests' which are obviously spam to delete it, but  I didn't quite hit the X, and it opened. I remember spending ages going through all the settings to try and stop these spam chats for good, but yahoo in their wisdom don't make it easy. The first thing I did was change my password. I did the usual anti-virus scans but nothing showed up. That was the only occurence, fortunately. Presumably the scum behind these viruses are able to easily adapt them for yahoo, hotmail and gmail.

Some thoughts about seed boxes though: 1st: why pay a monthly fee for a seed box when you have a decent (1 MBit/s[nb]even a speed of of 512 KBit/2 = 64 KByte/s is enough to get permission to upload 2 new torrents at the same time[/nb] ) upload speed? 2nd: what to do with your downloaded data files? I currently have more than 4 TB of data available for seeding, a seed box with such storage capacity is waaaayyyy more expensive than the starting 12 EUR/month, and you need at least a capacity of several GB to be able to seed torrents over a longer time. 3rd: The use of seed boxes may prove very unfair towards other users with limited upload speed because the BitTorrent protocol is designed to prefer peers with a better upload spee so using a seed box may result in unfair behaviouir towrds (so called) slow-liners. Bottom line: I don't like seed boxes very much (unless you carefully control your ratio management and don't try to over seed torrents) - but because we don't forbid seed boxes (and won't do so for the overview-able future) I can only recommend: be careful with using a seed box.

Do you use a "download accelerator" program or your browser's download function? In my browser (Opera 10.61) I can configure to save downloaded torrent files directly to a folder on my LAN - a folder which is "observed" by uTorrent automatically. This way I can download torrent files, click on save in Opera's open/save dialog and the rest is done automatically by uTorrent (on another computer in my LAN). Chalk it on my laziness that I selected this solution - it works OK for me for 99,… % of all my torrent downloads. It is a rare case when I have to work "manually" for a torrent download
