Check if you seed some torrents of which you did not get all files, if yes, stop (part of) them. Those count as downloading, because a seeder needs to have all files. If above isn't the cause. Write the helpdesk.

In your case, I believe that the port forwarding fix will get things working for you.

take into account that in order for a torrent to be seeded it needs people to download it.So it is not that easy to upload and improve your ratio

@aadam101: The thing that i hate about uploading is that once you get about 1.0 with the torrent it practically stops seeding since there are so many seeds at that point. This is not always the case… The GT.ru tracker does not like passive nodes, and places them at the bottom of the priority list, regardless of their upload speed. So... Always be sure that the port that your torrent client uses is forwarded both in TCP and UDP from your router to your computer. This alone will go a long way. Also, if you have a higher upload speed (say, 75KB/s), you'll get placed higher on the priority list for peers. So... Having a higher upload speed when possible does help in addition to making sure that your network is correctly setup. If using a VPN, it is important to know that you are connected correctly to the VPN and that the VPN has that port forwarded to your computer. If connecting with an OpenVPN based VPN, you need to be using TAP, rather than TUN, otherwise, ports cannot be opened. Also, you need to make sure that the VPN has that port forwarded. Some VPN's like Private Internet Access will only forward one port that they choose, whereas a VPN like PrivateVPN will forward ALL ports as long as you're using UDP + TAP and are connecting to a port forwarding enabled server.

I wasn't looking at the date so I apologise but since I already wrote my post I believe it won't hurt anyone to read it (especially those who are beginners)

Actually you probably did get it. Looking at your upload/download ratio, it just wouldn't have made a noticeable difference. The most that a 2.5 gig upload credit would give you, might be a 0.001 ratio increase. Ratio: 0.747 Uploaded: 563.88 GB Downloaded: 755.16 GB SeedBonus: 8.500

@JohnEryn: @cannonmc: Sadly, Spacey, seeding 1 or 1000 still gets you only 0.5 points an hour So I was downloading freelech torrents that didn't interest me at all for nothing… I'm gonna keep seeding my own torrents and nothing more from now on. That's a waste. They should give you .5 per torrent. Guess you only have to rely on upload

Fair enough. I think I only tried QTM once. I forget why I abandoned it. I find the manual upload simple enough. So should anyone else, especially after their first time. I think my summary above is a fair description of what to do when you are ready to post

Hi Popper. Just back in and left things running all day. I'd already set ratio to 1000%. It seems its woken back up again, no idea why. Still a bit hit and miss with most not seeding by a couple are on ratios of 2.5 and one is now 6.8 which at least shows things are working. Maybe its just the torrents I've been choosing that no-one else wanted but I've always downloaded the amatuer stuff so still not convinced. Anyway it seems to be improving so thanks for your help and fingers crossed I can get back to at least 1!

Thanks for the link cannonmc  and the laugh it provided!  I've come to the conclusion that I'll just keep on doing what I've been doing and hopefully will not get privileges revoked.  At least I can take comfort in the knowledge that my ratio will not go over .800 and I'm confident I can manage to maintain that.  Time will tell…. meanwhile I've decided not to worry about it.  Really do appreciate all the links and advice from the mods and members thought!  :bravo:

@FaptainFitz what cannonmc said. From where you are now with your uploaded torrent, read the re-seed instructions in the FAQ and forums Guides section. The trick is making your torrent client find the files you want to share.

In the lower window part of your µTorrent with the torrent details, under the "Trackers" tab in the line with the tracker announce URL, what does it say in the "Status" column? That gives (us) a first good hint to issues' area.
