It got removed after the tracker was online again.

@MarkB: I've been well above the minimum requirement throughout the period the ratio was showing in dark red, so it looks like there may be a gremlin in the coding somewhere. What seems to have set the ratio colour back to white is the fact that I passed the 250 GB download mark today (unless that's just a coincidence). That definitely shouldn't occur and likely was a gremlin - perhaps relating to our recent reconfiguration changes.  The system should update the ratio red signal within 10-15 minutes after restoration of the minimum ratio.  Sorry about that!  Glad it reset for you eventually.

@Popper: Would it be clearer for you, if this: … For every hour you have a file (or multiple files) seeding you get .5 points for every hour. ... would be changed to: … You get 0.5 points for every hour you have at least one torrent seeding. ... Or how would you word it better? The second one is better - "You get 0.5 points for every hour you have at least one torrent seeding. …" A more precise alternative would be "You get a 0.5 bonus point for each hour you seed torrents no matter what quantity." (or..."no matter... how many files you seed.") twzzz

Most likely, that "Mountain Men" torrent is a torrent for multiple files and you have selected to download only a 471.1 MB movie from it. Seeder can only be a peer which got all files. Therefore the tracker counts peers having downloaded a part only and seeding it as leecher. This is the same for all trackers I know. Regarding your trail to upload an own new torrent, that sounds as if you try to upload a big movie file to the site. However, you have to upload only the small .torrent file, which you've created upon with your Vuze/Azureus. Note as well, that you have to download then after as well only that small .torrent file (not the movie file), which got your personal secrete passkey inserted. When you add that .torrent to your Vuze/Azureus, you have to set the "download" to the folder (directory) where the movie file from which the torrent was created is. Personally I create always back-up copies of the files I want to seed, just in case something goes wrong.

The statistics listed in your picture are only session based and not cumulative. Cumulative upload/download data is added to your ratio amounts in the upper part of your profile page.

Actually that item displays always zero … first time i am realising that  :afr: The session based values can be seen in the Profile's torrent list, but as Riddler pointed out, they don't show full history.

Looks like you were able to fix your ratio after all –- the key is to keep seeding and over a longer period of time

First you need to find torrents with less than 10 pictures. For this in the list, put the mouse over the titles and the pictures will display with an indication like "Showing n pictures of x", so fi x is below 10, picture(s) can be added. Then, go to the description page by clicking on the title and below the pictures is displayed in white and yellow "Add Screenshots and Covers to make some extra SeedPoints" . Just click on "Add Screenshots and Covers". In the window which opens, click "Browse" and navigate to the picture you want to upload and confirm. Now click the "Upload" button". The picture will not display immediately, it can take 2 minutes.

Ah yeah that's a good point.  I'm brand new to GayTorrent.RU but I already have a pretty healthy ratio already (0.979) with UL: 2.82 GB / DL: 2.88 GB.  That's a good thought, I'll keep that in mind.  Thanks!

@beddj: Hi, so i downloaded a few files and unfortuantly they got deleted, but i would like to get them back, would me re-downloading them effect the download ratio? undelete / restore is impossible to use?

But very, very simply: Seeding means either you have uploaded your own torrent and are sharing it with other people or: You have completed a download of someone else's torrent and you have left your torrent client open to help others by sharing. Leeching means that you are downloading someone else's torrent and haven't completed it yet. Once you have got the complete file, you become a seeder if you let other people have a share of your completed download.

That is exactly what I think happened, because some downloads were finished this night/morning. The only way to compensate is to seed long times. Of course the selection of torrents influences a lot the ability to upload data after a download finished, too.

many clients allow manual announce. normally it's not needed to do it manually, unless you want to test if the function works properly.
