@kekkaishi Most likely your ISP is blocking the ports you use to connect. In your torrent client, open up your preferences and change the port you're using. If you have an OLD router, or have otherwise manually opened ports or configured port-forwarding, you will need to change those settings too.

@bennyjetter said in Need help with qBittorrent please: I had to move a lot of files on my hard drives because I was running out of space. I moved all my downloaded files. Now while zBititorrent is running I'm getting error messages from zBittorrent saying "I/O Error, An I'O Error occured <torrent details>" Does anyone know if it's possible to link the toorrent and the files up again sso zBittorrent can find them? Or alternatively how would I go about finding someone who could answer that question for me? CHeers Benny No worries - so long as you moved all the files "together", just right click the TORRENT (not the content) in qBitTorrent and select "Location" -- point the system to the FOLDER that contains the CONTENTS, and click OK. It may be necessary to then again right-click the torrent and this time choose "Force recheck" God luck!

@cash0uttt I would not say they compete with each other. I have yet to have a lag with Qbittorrent, however Utorrent has a LOT of lag, and when Utorrent lags, it makes the entire computer lag because it's gorging itself on all your memory and CPU resources.

@lololulu19 I like how Qbittorent handles resources. Other than having to relearn a torrent program, it does seem very good.

QBittorrent is now up to version 4.3.4.1 Utorrent uses 3 times as much CPU and 5 times as much memory as Qbittorrent. I have been a loyal Utorrent user for 15 years, but it has too many problems - including crashes, freezes, and files that lose their association with their torrent. I have finally given up on Utorrent. I tried every torrent client out there, and Qbittorrent's latest version is close to being perfect. It has a few very minor problems which are nothing compared to the massive problems of Utorrent. It seems like Utorrent's developers have given up trying to fix their problems. People don't even bother to post in the Utorrent forums anymore. Also, there is a genuine 64 bit version of Qbittorrent - which is able to utilize far more memory.

@japons said in is gaytorrents net shut down?: @bi4smooth I thought that might be the case because every few years on a new device it doesn't work unless you use a runaround method. You just have to remember to add the /latest to the end of the URL....

@MrMazda: It just goes to show that copyright trolls will stop at nothing to try to extort money from the people… It makes me very glad that I take a higher level of anonymity on the internet these days. You are absolutely right.  I've never seen anybody say this though. The lost SALES of music, movies, books, software are extremely low.  In fact, I would not be surprised if the distribution of these things actually INCREASES the sales!  Many years ago, before Microsoft made it impossible to sell software without submitting the source code to them to certify (aka steal) I worked with another guy to sell our own software.  There were virtually no sales, until we started giving it away for people to use.  The catch was, they could not use it for free without being nagged to purchase it.  Purchasing it gave them a unique code to disable the nagging. There are a tiny number of people - lets call them "copyright trolls" who aggressively find out who is doing what, but they don't do anything about it!  What they do is go various companies and SELL them the data of who is doing what.  That data is pretty worthless mainly because most of the data is FAKE - generated by the companies that are the trolls. Likewise, anti-malware, anti-virus companies are frauds.  They are the creators of the new malware and viruses.  Other people copy their viruses, often unintentionally.  Those companies would be out of business very quickly if there were not constantly new malware and viruses for them to magically have the solution for, even before those viruses and malware have propagated through the internet. If you want to find the criminals behind illicit activity, look for whoever is making money out of it. It goes back to the old Charlie Chaplin silent movie "The Kid"  Charlie has a business selling windows.  That's a very tough way to earn a living.  However he has a little boy throwing bricks at people's windows - creating customers for Charlie. There are loads of internet sites which charge hefty subscription fees to access their sites.  In fact, they are quite tricky about it.  They set up dozens of clone sites, each with it's own monthly subscription fees, and each site has a unique selection of titles.  Rarely do 2 subscription sites have the SAME titles, because they are the same company, and they want you to buy multiple subscriptions.  These companies sure don't like TPB, etc. because that allows people to get what they want without paying those subscriptions. It goes eve further.  A lot of these subscription sites do something like this.  They say "Free, just pay $1 with your credit card to verify your identity".  They then bill your card $1.  and then monthly charges start popping up.  They will say "oh, you should have cancelled your free trial" but it was either impossible to cancel the free trial, or even if you did, the charges start up again a month later.

@ArmaRayo: famousbovine, eventually you vaporate from the (possible) records. While DHT can be great to find more seeds / rare torrents - one should not enable it but only as a last measure. Use a torrent app that allows DHT to be turned on/off per torrent in addition to global on/off. This site doesn't use DHT.  In fact, I don't know of any site that DOES use DHT.

Because in the United States, copyright trolls have nothing better to do than to needlessly harass people, even if it's over something that they distribute for free anyway lol

Oh, actually I'm using Vivaldi browser - but I have decided to dedicate Opera for porn browsing Both Opera and Vivaldi as well as Chrome use Chromium project as browser base with Blink engine (developed by Google & Opera). Chromium project is older than Google, but Chrome is the most "popular" of Chromium/Blink browsers. It's common for sites to register my browser (Vivaldi or Opera) as Chrome, or more so current Chromium/Blink version that the browser uses

Thank you for your reply. I have then switched to qbittorrent and while it's nice and some way better than utorrent - i'm going back to utorrent as it has more features managing torrents, while qbit does allow a lot more concurrent ups/down. I wonder if I can use 2 clients over the transition period–- hmm I guess it's in the FAQ.
