It would appear that this is likely due to stopping and restarting torrents. See, your torrent client will show you the totals since your torrent was added to your torrent client. The tracker on the other hand will only show the data for the current session. When a session is stopped then restarted, this resets the data to zero. The other factor is that your torrent client will only update with the tracker once every 30 minutes, and as such, there is a delay in the stats updating. If a session is stopped before the torrent client updates, usually any data that is transferred since the last update is lost. Lastly, if you are seeding a torrent from more than one device or from more than one torrent client, this can cause many issues with the data being updated, as each torrent client will update appearing as a new session.

I think we can agree to disagree. I prefer by far to have a torrent available for download and to erase it just after I have downloaded it rather than not have a torrent uploaded at all because of strict naming rules. For me the contents counts much more than the packaging.

Quite strangely, the day after my first message, my upload speed came back to normal (~ 500 Mb/s) and remained such till today. I've waited 3 days before experimenting to freeleech anything; I chose to freeleech a rather small torrent today. At the very moment I did that, my upload speed fell again at <1Mb/s!!! (I've checked on www.speedtest.net and some other similar sites.) I'm left with two hypotheses: — my ISP is delivering an instable upload trafic when I freeleech something (3rd time in a row…); — there's an obscure unexpected interaction between gaytor.rent & my fiber box (the speed of transfers between the computer and the box, using FTP, doesn't seem to be affected)… 🤯

@lololulu19 I do not see any upload attempts on your profile since March of this year. As for the torrents that you currently have seeding, I do not see any leechers on most of them, and the few that do, seem to have a high number of seeds. It may be worth checking that your port forwarding settings are in order so that the port that your torrent client uses is forwarded through the VPN or home router that you are using to seed your torrents. If you'd like, I can see if I can work a little magic for you to help get some things flowing for you.

You may need to un-install and re-install your client ... it seems, settings configurations and modications are change from defaul values ...

Keep in mind that once your session is interrupted it will start a new session, while pausing and or re-starting ... And your recent or previous activities will be loss and reset ...

@semurg30 When this happens, there is a simple way to continue with your upload. First, move the video file or folder containing the multiple files into the folder that your torrent client downloads into by default. Next, go to the torrent page on the site. Download the .torrent file for the torrent, then open it with your torrent client. If you have placed the file(s) in the right place, it should verify the contents of the torrent, then begin to seed it for you.

@eobox91103 I also guarantee that your port forwarding settings play a part. When you're a passive node on our tracker, your peer priority ends up working out to be much lower, so it becomes harder to get traffic, and when you actually do, you're usually seeding parts to peers who are seeking a slower speed for the part. It's kind of weird, but given our size, the alternative of supporting passive nodes would seriously increase our already heavy traffic loads and server demands.

@frostycab The strange thing about QTM is it only seems to misbehave for some users, while working perfectly for others. This makes it problematic for us as unless we are able to duplicate the problem, we cannot be sure of where the problem is exactly or what exactly needs to be adjusted to fix the issue.

@sylokbear-0 If you uploaded a folder, your torrent client will download a folder. This means that you need to set the download location one level BELLOW the uploaded torrent folder. For instance, if the folder is "C:\Downloads\Torrent Folder" you need to set the download location to "C:\Downloads" If you set your download to "C:\Downloads\Torrent Folder" then an additional folder will be created inside of it, and the files will not be found. Remove the torrent from your software and add it again, set the location properly this time and it will start seeding right after checking the files.

@ianfontinell Sadly on any given day there's a good chance that you will be able to uploads breaking at least 1 or more of those 5 rules, though I admit it's far better now than it was a few years ago. A classic example is when users upload videos but then only add stock pics of the performers rather than screengrabs of the video itself. I have to admit that when I do find a torrent that breaks one of those rules I'm usually hesitant to report it, usually for one of two reasons. Firstly, I might actually decide to take a chance on downloading it, and don't want to see it taken down when I'm at 40%, but secondly because I could report so many of them that I think the admins would end up getting sick of me (if they're not already!) It's a question of finding the line between getting new content uploaded and being petty. Unless something is blatantly misleading I often err on the side of caution.
