If you see such message from the tracker (to many downloads, or as well time outs), what you can do to have your upload and download tracked is the following: Do not stop that torrent and keep the torrent programme (e.g. µTorrent) running. If you stop it's over. Stop other downloading torrents from the same tracker, that will free slots to connect to the tracker Try to update the tracker for the red torrent after having stopped other 'green' downloaing. There is a minimum time between tracker updates, the function is greyed out if an update was attempted recently, you may need to wait a few minutes. In µTorrent it is on the drop down list on that torrent in the torrent list, the before last item of the drop down list.

Aside each forum post, in your Profile (lick on your name in "Welcome back, …") and in the middle below the blue menu bar. At this moment: Uploaded: 21.16 TB Downloaded: 4.67 TB These are high absolute values, the lowest indicated value change of 0.01 TB is about 10 GB (these are actually TiB and GiB). You can compare delta per active torrent, where lower changes are visible, but you have to make sure the torrent was active all the period and to take delta only in both your Profile and the BitTorrent client.

Don't  :crazy2: You could download one and a half times the amount you already have done and still be above your minimum ratio. Just leaving your torrent running often grabs some upload - many a time I've gone away to no leechers and come back to find lots. Happens a lot with freeleech torrents in my experience

@Popper: Units here are powers of two: 1 KB = 1024 bytes 1 MB = 1024 KB 1 GB = 1024 MB 1 TB = 1024 GB So 0.98 TB * 1024 GB/TB = ~1004 GB. Actually the upload and download is stored in bytes and displayed rounded. That is the way how Microsoft Windows uses units, but using KiB, MiB, GiB and TiB would be correct and avoid confusion with decimal system based units (as used by storage device manufacturers). Ah I see, that explains it, thanks for the help. And thanks to the others for replying too, appreciated.

Also, another thing to take note of is that according to the tracker, you are listed as not being connectable. This is a matter of port forwarding rules not being properly setup in your router. When there are leechers downloading any of the torrents that you are seeding, being connectable will help your chances and abilities to actually upload content. You can find more information on how to do this, or get help with getting this setup in this forum thread. You can also find a more in depth step by step guide on how to set this up at http://www.portforward.com/

Hi, The perfect Bitcoin solution for gaytor.rent is circle.com If you can't or won't do the minimum ID check they want, just make a cash deposit at a local bank for a seller at localbitcoins.com I wonder if the admins would allow a Bitcoin exchange thread here (paypal, whatever for my Bitcoin)

The site displays in the binary powers 1KB = 1024 Bytes, 1MB = 1024 KB and so on. The ratio is calculated on the actual bytes registered, not the rounded values displayed.

@cannonmc: I think what eaglevision was saying was that someone else had already reported the duplicate torrents. It's first come, first served for the credits. The first person to report a duplicate torrent gets the prize. It's not hard to imagine that multiple members spot the same torrent around the same time, it's just a shame if someone beats you in reporting. It's happened to me quite a few times. That's life If there are multiple reports for the same Original URL and same duplicate URL, before it is treated by a moderator and the pair confirmed a duplicate case with the reported original being the original (and not in reality the duplicate), ALL reporters get the 50 bonus points.

@xxxrl: I can see by other posts that I am not alone in this complaint. My ratio did fall below the set minimum and I have since brought it back up to 0.439 which by the sites own ratio table is well above the minimum and really quite good on average. I have set comments (complaints) to the ??helpdesk?? and all I seem to get back is they want 'contributions'  (Bit coin or PayPal)to restore my download rights. This does not seem right to me… sound like there is a hidden agenda to get people downloading and then falsely deny downloading rights to make money??? I just sent the ??helpdesk?? a COMMENT and from now on, until the site operates by its own rules, I plan on only downloading 'freeleech' and doing NO uploading. I have plenty of bandwidth to share with you, my peers, on the site but I do not like feeling like I am being screwed (and not even kissed)!!! If I am wrong about my thinking that gaytor.rent is a rip off then the site should shape up and follow their own rules and return my downloading rights. If anyone else agrees... please post and flood the ??helpdesk?? with comments. xxxrlsd :afr:  :afr2: :afr2: We never want contributions to restore your ratio…. We're not holding your account hostage for money.

The other thing to look at is the top torrents list on the front page of GT.ru… Those are the most popular torrents, which means they are potentially great for the ratio if seeded enough, especially if they're FL
  • Is there a lag with the UL/DL ratio update?

The short answer to your question is yes…. Approximately evey 30 minutes, your torrent client updates with the tracker and tells it how much data has been transferred since the last update. For this reason, it may take some time for information that you have transferred to actually be reflected on the tracker. That being said, also be aware that the total UL/DL stats that you see in your torrent client also include network overhead traffic. As such, you may notice a small difference between what your torrent client reads, and what the tracker reads. Lastly, there's also the issue of session history. When you stop a torrent in your torrent client, your torrent client will still show that you've got some data transferred. When you start the torrent again, the numbers will not match because your torrent client will have kept track of the session stats for that particular torrent as it sits in your torrent client, however the tracker will keep track of the stats for that particular session, which gets reset every time you stop the torrent. Just a heads up...

@bonusone: thx for the reply now I have a ratio of 0,400 but it's still not enough - don't really understand this ratio /points system  :afr: When the minimum ratio is reached, the download rights will be restored by the system at it next cycle. Cycle time for this is 15 minutes. While the display on site shows rounded upload, download and ratio values, the system calculates ratio based on exact to the byte values. That can lead to the minimum ratio been displayed as reached, but the real ratio being still slightly lower. Seeding a little bit more will do it then.

Yes, the tracker counts only peers who got all files completely as seeds. This is common at all trackers I know. Of course the uploaded (and downloaded) data amounts will be added correctly to your accounts global upload (and download). However such torrents count towards your allowed at the same time "downloading" torrent slots and you might need to stop them for a while if you get a tracker error about "bad ratio" to make a real download.
