Good of you caring and asking about the rules.  @frostycab: Just out of interest, am I still able to use my home PC and laptop to download here even if I have the seedbox running at the same time? Yes, you can. I tested dl/ul with using seedbox and (free) vpn at same time.

Every member got 2 Profiles on GayTorrent.ru: 1/ The site Profile, which is reached by clicking on the "Profile" in the blue menu band on the top of our pages. It is that Profile picture, which is seen next to the comments to torrents. 2/ The forum Profile, which is reached by clicking on the "Profile" in another blue menu band, lower on the page, if the forum is visited, just above the Forum categorises and sections. It is that Profile picture, which is displayed next to the forum messages. Both got an independent setting for the avatar picture. –--- The link you've provided in the site Profile (1/), goes to a http server outside GayTorrent.ru. However with the change to SSL encrypted connection for more privacy of GayTorrent.ru all http prefixes were changed into https. Your picture server doesn't allow a https connection. You could place the picture in our bitbucket.

@Speedmaster8: Our Upload Guide additional section says: Abbreviations and Acronyms … ... I encourage every user not to use them, whenever possible. … However I see no point in adding a Rule, which we can't enforce and currently we don't have the resources for that. This site is missing eagerly staffing. BTW: The above "I" should be changed into a "we" …

Hi Laibach, actually, this sort of failures is not because of "bad programming", or "bad implements, but because not all browser behave like they should, when it comes to session-ids and temporary content. Even if you tell FireFox, NOT to save any cache-items, it still saves the temporary parts and displays the "old" security code image with the wrong session-id, which is only valid for one time only. If you do any other request, before the input of the right code, the security code isn't valid any more and therefore a new security code is built. The "normal" function for the session would be deleting the session-id and cache-items and requesting the hole content from the server again, but due to performance reasons, FireFox isn't requesting a new session-id with the download of the new security code image and that's the reason, why these failures happen. … and no (!!!), there is no possibilty that this failure may be used for an exploit, because the server builts a new session-id and a new security image every time, untill you put in the right code. Any other code is blocked during this security procedure.

Thank for the feedback. Actually all active members should have corrected the "Hosts" file already at the previous server moves. What you encountered will effect users who never shut down their computer, but send it to sleep only. Mac users might be most concerned.

No, it isn't that. The data base contains all completed torrents of a member still listed on the site. Only the value of how many will be displayed in that list has been increased from 50 to 250. Mine was showing immediately more. However, I've noticed some years back (2010?), when working to get the "lost torrents" from the spring 2009 server crash back, that from one day to another many torrent's completions lists (not visible any more to non-staff) became empty or very short. It looked for me as if some data base purging was done, but never got any confirmation from the Administrators. @ric58hard: Do you have javascript enabled in your web-browser?

@pickknic: … so if i see that symbol, it basically means you guys on the gtru team liked it? No not at all. There is an equal treatment of all torrents. Taste of team (members) is not a criteria to promote a torrent. The criteria include (not exhaustive): long time "dead" (no activity counter, no completed downloads for months) requested "dead" help of low ratio members being the only seed (re-seed) etc …

I don't agree to andy32. The staff of the site don't have to be visible, to help and solve problems and to answer questions. They will do their "job" as soon as possible, no matter if there is a online status or not. If you don't have the time to wait for answers, or solutions, you should think of paying for the support ( and I don't mean an irregular amount of donation! ). At the moment, the site is totally free for all users and I am very thankful for all the free services, that all the members of the staff are giving to us! It isn't necessary for anybody to know the online status… in fact I think, it should be a user choice, if they want to be seen as online or not, but I can very well live with it, that there isn't such status.

This is interesting and I have somehow resisted updating my client from 2.2.1 all along. Another reason NOT to do it. I have heard generally there are quite a few issues with the newest version of utorrent.

Did you vote on the poll?  The system will not allow you to access the browse or search pages until you have voted.  Simply vote and all will be normal again.

Please compare the tracker announce URL you see in the torrent client programme (µTorrent, BitTorrent, Vuze/Azureus, …) with the one you see in your Profile if you click on your name in "Welcome back, ..." below the blue menu band It should look like: http://tracker.gaytor.rent:2710/YourSecretePersonalPasskey/announce Where "YourSecretePersonalPasskey" is a long series of numbers and letters, which you must not publish here ore elsewhere. Your torrent client programme either doesn't connect to the tracker or doesn't get a message back. So the first step is to assure the URL is a correct one. –---- If you use µTorrent/BitTorrent, can you check the connectivity please: Options > Setup Guide ... > check the "Network" box and run the test. What is the result? Green, orange or red?

@farnhamj07: Most of the problem in translating stuff comes from small nuances like that! ouch!  :afr: I didn't replace home and house by intent, believe me. but thanks, I won't do such mistake again… maybe. :cheesy2:
