@frostycab If you do want them to open in a new tab, there are two ways that you can do this.
If your computer has a mouse (not a touchpad), you can click the link with the scroll wheel instead of the regular mouse button. This will open the link in a new tab, though at any other time, it enables a scroll feature.
The other way is that you can hold the CTRL key on your keboard, then click the link while holding the CTRL key down. This too will open the link in a new tab.
As a side note, if you want to open the link in a new tab, rather than a new window, you can hold the SHIFT key on your keyboard, then click the link while holding down the SHIFT key. This will override any link setting and force a new window, rather than just a new tab.
