@MrMazda From what I have read, that is exactly what happened. He was on vacation in the Florida Keys, rented a Corvette, and was speeding around the very narrow roads of Key West - so fast that he got a $1000 traffic ticket just 2 days before his fatal crash. I suppose that one way to look at it is thankfully nobody else was injured. You would think that just 2 days after getting that citation for speeding, he would slow it down a bit.

@eobox91103 Yes, same here when I was still a child most especially during New Year's Eve which is very much like Thanksgiving Day in the US. There's good food like turkey, bone-in ham etc and of course wine. My family will let me sip to taste and that's about it but never really like it. I understand that there has to be a set of limitations for prevention and control over unthinkable things that may happen. Good that there is as sometimes parents are not always the same as other's parents one would expect. American Bourbon Whisky + 7-Up still sounds awful to me though. Ehe.

This just cracks me up.... The transphobic content targeting events such as Patterson’s is just a subset of the hateful content about Jews, Muslims, women, Black people, Asians and others that has internet safety advocates and an increasing number of lawmakers in the United States and elsewhere pushing for tougher regulations that would force tech companies to do more. In other words, much like Bill C-10 in Canada which needs to be shot down in flames, the answer is to censor the internet. The only problem with this is that these measures are often (at least in Canada) taken too far and shut down anything that does not fit the narrative that the government wants to push. Ladies and gentlemen... Welcome to communist China. Merely censoring offending content won't do a damn thing to curb this kind of behaviour. It will only make this kind of thing get taken to other platforms where it will be tolerated. What needs to happen instead is instead of getting the tech companies to shut it down, hate crime charges need to be brought forward and the individuals in question need to be prosecuted on them.

Japan for all it's advance technologies still traditional when it comes to their values and beliefs. It may not always be right in our way of thinking but that's them. No western influence can sway that.
