Bank of England releases Alan Turing £50 note

As of Yesterday, 23 June 2021, the Bank of England has officially released the new £50 note that features Alan Turing.
This is the first (provable) gay man to be on Bank of England money.
Sadly, the same can't be said for Scotland, though.

Has the bank of ENGLAND ever put anybody on a note other than the Queen?
I know that in New Zealand, they put characters from Lord Of The Rings on their currency.

Yeah, lots of people have been on the notes.
Of course, the Queen is always on the notes as well.
