    @justatest90-0 PrEP is very expensive in Taiwan if you are not a high risk person (like say medical workers). I heard that you have to buy it in Thailand if you want it cheaper, like vastly cheaper. Otherwise a course of prep is something like close to 1000 dollars. But once you become positive, the government pays the costs, and first 2 years is paid for by the Taiwan's version of CDC, after that it's paid for by the national healthcare.

    The temperance movement is, unfortunately, very much still alive. So trying to find independent, reputable,  scientific research is almost  impossible. You say you feel you're drinking too much and I'm curious as to the reasons. Do you live somewhere where "the demon drink" is view with negative connotations? Or other people are trying to pressure or persuade you to reduce your drinking? To which I'd suggest you tell 'em to "Go Forth and Multiple". Perhaps you are experiencing side effects (be honest with yourself)? beer-belly, mood swings, hangover, etc. Then I'd recommend you change how you drink or even reduce the amount.  Drinking 3 pints in a day is not normally a problem. But a day is 24 hours. If you're trying to drink 3 pints in 1-2 hours, that's a problem. I don't drink, not because of ideology or "health" reasons. But simply because I find most alcoholic drinks have an unpleasant taste.

    It really depends on the mood. Sometimes, I can go on for a couple of days without it but when the mood strikes, a session can be back-to-back. Lol. It really relieves stress.

    Continue to work out. As they say, moderation of everything. I know you've heard it before. But making sure your protein level from natural foods (eggs chicken meat) are good. And of course, most important, do not consume sugar.

    @Taesuke: Yes, per week. Deficit of 500 calories per day (times) 7 days a week (equals) 3500 weekly calorie deficit. It'll be equal to losing one pound of body weight (might be any combination of water, muscle, and fat). Good luck!  ;D

    Some guides like to point out the color of urine while doing this. They say that if your urine is clear, you are healthy enough and the toxins are all being flushed out. It's about as common sense-y like dropping a few slices of lemon in your pitcher of water. Something that feels very inconsequential but supposedly has a lot of benefits.
