@davis94: Transmission sucks. I can't use utorrent anymore, so I've tried your suggestion, but is the thing serious? Downloading one file may be ok, but what if you have folders with multiple files? I've added a torrent and see the folder, but I can't see the files in it. It downloads the whole thing when i only want specific files downloaded at a time. I can only choose which files to download ONCE when I add the torrent. And even then I can't download one file, and then the second, third and so on. It downloads all the chosen files at the same time. So if I want to download one file, and then download another one afterwards, I can't just select it like I would normally do with utorrent. I have to redownload the whole torrent and then it takes some time for the torrent to start and that's very inconvenient. Transmission > Preferences > Transfers > Adding > Add window > Display a window when opening a torrent file Then you can choose which files to download from a multi-file torrent.  You can't specify a sequence for multiple files but you can change the priority for each file to high or low. I don't understand the situation you are describing in which you have to "redownload the whole torrent".  I have always been able to go back and check off additional files in a multi-file torrent at a later time without any difficulty. Perhaps you are using the web interface?  That may explain some of the issues you report.   I use the software installed on a Mac. As far as obvious advantages, Transmission is open source software and doesn't have ads or a history of third parties bundling it with malware and other security issues like μTorrent.   It is unrealistic to expect it to be a replica of other software with the exact same features.  Perhaps try exploring the various preference settings and using it for a while before concluding that it "sucks".

@korosta: Hi, I'm new to this torrent thing and still figuring out how things work. A few days ago, I found a video i was looking for in this site and decided to download a torrent program. Being horny, I downloaded a bunch of videos that summed up to nearly 2 GB. Then, I got a message saying that i have to improve my ratio within 3 days so that i can keep my downloading privilege. That being said, i read the rules & guides AFTER i got the message and still trying to improve my ratio. The thing is after my torrent downloads were finished, i removed all the downloads and deleted the torrent files not knowing that i have to seed them afterwards and does becoming a Leecher. So, I downloaded two more files and seed them. My seed bonus have increased but I need to have a hundred of them so that i can redeem 1 GB of upload and that would take forever. I have nothing to upload so do you guys have any tips to improve my ratio before my gracetime runs out ? It isn't just the seed bonus points that give you your ratio. Those are just "bonus" points. Just seed the two files you just downloaded and your ratio will be better in no time. I'm new too and that's how i see it. I do have a question though, how often does this site update the details? I  have been on 67mb uploaded for the past half hour ish and I am on 900mb uploaded on my torrent client. I just want to make sure its being captured properly…. It is only now that I have viewed this thread, When a member reported about violation of a torrent, mod who take action will go directly to the torrent in question and will click "Send Uploader a message" of that torrent. The system will notify directly the uploader. The only possible reason (highly improbable but not impossible) that someone have the access to your account and uploading .rar file video (file which we allow with images, comic and yaoi, books and magazine but NOT with videos). The system deleted all those .rar file hence your upload history has a clean slate

@JeepCub: Hi, I'm new to the site and am having problems downloading.  When I click on the download button on the torrent page the screen goes white and nothing happens. I'm using uTorrent and the download doesn't even register in the client.  When I reload the page and try to re-download the torrent, the website has registered that I downloaded then torrent even though I didn't. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Sounds like a known µTorrent problem that has had different causes and solutions over the years.  Search the forums there for solutions (such as reinstalling the software) and if those don't work, ask for help there. https://forum.utorrent.com/ I download the torrent files and save them in a folder.  Having those torrent files has been very useful several times over the years.

Hi thanks for your reply, it’s still saying “finding peers” on every dl from gtru. Only on ones from here, everything else from other trackers is working fine. I tried another client and get exactly the same result. Which suggests that it’s my connection/firewall somehow? I sent a message to the help desk 24 hours ago and I’m awaiting a response. yeah i agree with you-these multiple file torrents are hiding too much in my opinion-i try to do each one separate so you can see exactly what you are downloading

You have a generous interpretation that would be the same if he had one or two files. What he said " can not check if all are overage in the videos because there are many videos," was that he wasn't even going to bother looking at all of them to see if there were obvious underage since there were too many videos. Granted, he also said he finds it difficult to recognize age in non-Asians, which is valid. It's still, don't post stuff here that you haven't even looked at.  I just spent a couple of hours going through a large picture file where I deleted more than a fifth for being duplicates or off-topic.

@cleaude: @xbw100x: You're probably not connectable. Even though seed bonus is "stuck in 2010" it's extremely generous to offer 0.5 bonus per torrent regardless of size. No problems increasing ratio here and havent had to exchange since like my first year on this site. It's not per torrent. It's for one or more torrent. So you get 0.5 points per hour and that's it. At least that's what it is for me and that's what the FAQ states. If you know a way of getting more, please let me know. I'm seeding for several sites, but somehow on this one I get almost no traffic seeding. I uploaded a torrent and literally seeded it exactly once, after that nobody ever seeded from me again. The torrent is reasonably popular, but apparently my connection isn't. As I said, I'm seeding on other sites just fine, and apparently I can seed here too when I'm the only option, so I doubt the problem are my settings. It almost feels like there's a club of super seeders that are hogging all the traffic and basically choking out the rest of us. Which just causes even less downloads and thus less seeding etc. It's not "generous" to offer those bonus points, it's straight up necessary because there's just no other way. And no, I won't donate to a site that basically forces me to through the back door (no pun intended). I don't really want to jump through useless hoops like fake forum posts or "repackaging" existing torrents. I think it should be enough that I basically just offer what I got here. Fair and square. OMG you took the words out of my mouth. you said it so well. i am currently seeding 25 torrents here, 25 torrents on second site, and 25 on third site. and let me tell you, i'm seeding like crazy on those other sites, but none here. traffic turnover is huge there because average joes that do not have seed boxes are downloading a lot. average joe cannot download a lot here because of ratio policy. i can download here 10 GB per month. if i download more, my ratio goes down too much. do you know how many GB i can download per month on those other sites. 100-500GB. if i'm in this situation here, than 1000s other average users are also. and wouldn't it be better for this site if we all could download 100GB per month instead of 10GB. it's all about traffic turnover. if it's slow then the site is dead. just like the economy. if everyone starts saving money instead of spending, we're screwed. what i'm trying to say from the beginning of this discussion is that downloading 10 GB per month was fine for me in 2015, but now it's not enough and seeder bonus should go up.

@afootytop: Is it possible to filter by resolution please? I have a 4k monitor, and find that after downloading rather large files over number of weeks, that they are impossible to view due to the low resolution of the original file. I've noted on previous threads that some Globals Moderators have the ability to remaster files to a higher resolution, but I have not as yet learnt this dark art. There are a few technical points here worth noting: 1)  I have found that a video file will look best at the original resolution in which it was created.  For example, most standard-resolution DVD material from, say, 2000-2010, was recorded in 480i (640x480).  It's possible to use software to increase the dimensions of the video file (such as to 1440x1080), but that's not going to improve the clarity of the image–it just stretches it out.  You can't add information that wasn't there to begin with.  And, depending on the software used to do this, it might even make the image look worse.  We can't make a true high-definition video out of a lower-definition video.  Some users on here will take a standard definition video and use software to "stretch" it, and claim that they have a "high definition 1080i video."  That's deceptive...and just plain wrong. 2)  I, too have a 4K monitor.  If I want to watch a video that is smaller than (real) 4K, my computer graphics card and monitor will do a better job of stretching the image out over the screen than a graphics application that fiddles with the file.  To put this another way, a non-4K file will look better on your monitor if you leave it as is, and let your computer blow it up to full-screen.  (I use VLC player running on Windows.) 3)  It's true that there's some good vintage material from the 19080's and 1990's that is low resolution and enjoyable to watch...but it can look wretched on a large screen monitor.  Unfortunately, there's no way to fix this.  I have some old favourites that I watch occasionally, and find the low video quality more tolerable if I just move back a bit from the screen. 4)  If you do want to change the frame size (resolution) of a video, I've found that "Movavi Video Converter" works pretty well, and is easy to use.  I got it a few years ago, and I think it was about $75 US.  [This is not an advertisement, and I don't own any of their stock.]  I use this to join files together, especially when they might have different frame sizes.  It's also handy if you need to change the encoding btween .avi, .mp4, .mov, etc. Happy viewing!
