I will try and answer all your questions in the easiest way to understand, as the actual definition of some of this stuff is pretty technical. So this is an extreme oversimplification of it, but the cloud refers to computers (servers) that are not inside your house, but instead are made available to people over the internet and provide some service. In this case file storage. For example, if I upload something to dropbox, it is on the cloud, because it is no longer stuck in my house, but it is on someone else's server where I can access it. In terms of your data on your computer that you are afraid of being lost, I would recommend buying an external hard drive in order to back up stuff to. This is much easier for a number of reasons, and more secure. Now to all the questions: 1. You really wouldnt backup your entire home computer to a cloud provider if you have a lot of stuff on it. Or just in general. Doing that would not only be slow, but also would slow down your internet, and also is really not available. You can back up specific things to the cloud, like photos or videos, but again if you have a large amount of data its not practical. 2. You can watch media like videos right from most cloud storage providers sites. Mega, Dropbox, Onedrive, Google Drive, are a few examples. But you wouldnt be using VLC, no. 3. No…. Just no 4. I wouldn't recommend it for things you frequently use. Or just in general you should always have a copy of your data that you can physically access. But, for example, if you have a bunch of old photos from college that you dont want to delete, but dont really care about,  yeah you could upload them to a cloud storage provider and then delete the local files. 5. Ummm. A VPN doesn't protect your files. When you move a file into the cloud, it still has a physical location, its just that location is not in your home any more, it is some companies server. These companies have their own file protection and other stuff. 6. Depending on the website, they could. Again seeing as I am assuming some of your data is torrented you really wouldnt put that in the cloud. 7. No. 8. A VPN isnt the protection you seem to think it is. But what you would do is check the cloud providers policies and security history to see how reliable they are. Mega is good in that regard, as they encrypt all your shit. 9. Technically sites exist that let you torrent using the cloud, but it generally costs money, and I wouldnt recommend it. Its kind of shady, and not really how torrents are supposed to work. 10. A bit silly. 11. So there are free options, I am surprised you dont use one already like Google Drive or iCloud or Onedrive. There are also paid options as there are limits on how much free storage you get on every site No. But as long as its with a company that you have heard of, its probably fine. Yeah theres size limits, and you can pay for more storage. It all differs from site to site So here is my suggestion, grab this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822236894 And set your computer to back up to it. –Disclaimer: I dont work for newegg or anything, its just a easy site.

As for the days, Sunday followed by Saturday and a less extent Friday got most visitors. As for the times, the afternoon to midnight UTC, got most activity. The difference between the days is around 10%, the difference between day times goes from 50% to 100% (doubles between low to high). That said, it doesn't really matter much when new uploads are posted, there are always plenty takers. Using low visitor times to post got the advantage that the site responses faster.

You are correct… This feature has been disabled for all users except for some staff in order to protect the security and privacy of our users. If you wish, you can contact the uploader of the torrent and request a list from them. This can sometimes be arranged by contacting one of the staff.

@bobbert: How long does it take to see your ratio updated The gaytorrent tracker's minimum announce interval is 1800 seconds. Clients that reannounce accordingly can expect to see the values shown on the member's page under Currently seeding updated with the added amount every 30 minutes.

Ultimately seed points really only have one use - 'buying' extra upload credit to improve your ratio. Click on Bonus at the top to see the going rates. If you have seed points you can give them to uploaders on a torrent page to say thanks. They can then use them to buy credit although you won't know if the uploader needs them. If you find that your own ratio is looking unhealthy you can use your seed points to boost your upload (minimum 100 points)

From the torrent listings it would seem that making new torrents freeleech ended somewhere around 2000GMT today. So new torrents until then will be freeleech until around that time on Sunday. Old torrents may still have the yellow Freeleech line but if they have no 'time left' under that they are not freeleech

Where are you getting these ZIP files from? If it's from this site, I will need to look into it because we do not allow corrupted content to be uploaded.

I know that it seems a little strange, but there is a reason for it. This is mainly to prevent users from digging themselves a hole with their ratio that they'll almost certainly never get out of short of donating a LOT of money, just to invite themselves back to the site under a new username to continue their downloading spree, without seeding anything.

Not quite sure what it is that you can't see. The Request Forum Your request? There isn't one from you. The torrent you request? Entirely depends on the other members. But you should be able to see the Request Forum now

hean, if you can, just leave your downloads seeding. It often happens that one of my old downloads suddenly bursts into activity ages after it finishes.

I'm not that familiar with prepaid credit cards as I've never used one before and I don't think those are available where I live so I'll need to look this up online. Thanks for the reply

Things that 'concern/piss me off'… Donald Trump as the next leader of the free world concerns me. People not appreciating members sharing pisses me off. 1. Ask a staff member to correct this. Maybe the uploader made a mistake and the time for him to correct it has gone. 2. As long as the torrent works, who cares about the name. I can teach you how to rename files/folders 4. So you want the uploader to do all the work for you. Why should he convert his original file for your convenience. I can name dozens of progs that will convert but why anyone would want a .mov file is beyond me 5. Didn't really understand your words. 6. Fair point if it really hasn't got sound but you can always add your own sounds, real or recorded 7. Why not just download cum compilations 8. You lost me… …And the list goes on.. Are you sure you really enjoy sites like these. I really do get pissed off (see above) with people who just moan about people sharing their time, effort and bandwidth for free and never seem to say thank you. I don't know if you in that category.

Yeah, it happens once in awhile, but not frequently.  Hoping to make a request for one torrent that 'died', once I have enough posts on the Forums.
