ianfontinell has it exactly right. Nothing is being deleted within minutes. A torrent only shows in browse and search while the tracker sees at least one seeder, and that check runs every minute. So if the uploader's client stalls or closes, the upload drops out of the listings a minute later, but it still exists on the tracker and comes right back the moment they seed again. Actual removal only happens when an upload never gets its initial seed for more than 3 days. So if your fresh upload vanished: start or fix the seeding in your client and it will reappear on its own.

Once you have it sorted, while I'm waiting to sort my own VPN out, I may be coming to you begging for you to join a swarm, just so I can grab what's on offer! Quick update: the tracker timeouts a few of you ran into have been fixed on our side. Give it another try and announcing / downloading should work again. If you still hit a timeout, reply here and let me know.

@Nastenka I have put a freeleech on this torrent as it seems that it is not well seeded. Based on the message I got when I pressed the request re-seed button, it seems that someone has already used this button in the last 48 hours. Between the re-seed request and putting the torrent on freeleech, it shouldn't take too long for the torrent to come back to life.

@JadeStarr776 This may be a sign of a problem with your browser. Try logging in using a private browsing window. If this works, then it is likely that your cache and/or cookies are to blame, and clearing them, then restarting your browser should correct the issue.

@arrgh30 Well, you could click the link and see, but it's another torrent site. I'm on there but never use it as I hate the way the files are presented. The whole thing works in a forum, so it's not quick or easy to browse for what you want. It used to be better, but they had to rebuild from scratch a few years ago after the whole site got wiped.

@ianfontinell Once you have, I'll upvote it! Yeah, the simple ambiguity of what it is that people could be rating makes the answer somewhat meaningless. I've always basically ignored ratings for my "download or not" decision, and have only really rated myself to counter the antisocial "I hate BL" voter's spiteful one-star rating. Maybe it needs two: "Rate the presentation" and "Rate the content", with having first downloaded the torrent only applicable to the latter. And/or a link to an explanatory guide telling members what it is that they should be rating, and giving some guidance: "Presentation is brilliant" = 5*; "Presentation is awful" = 1*. Perhaps it should even be a link to a more detailed rating feature, where you can rate individual elements, like those in my last post, and those are averaged to present an overall final score. That would be quite a lot of work to set up, I appreciate, but it would give a torrent creator better feedback on how it could be better next time. It might be brilliant in every respect, spoiled only by some files being unnecessarily buried in sub-sub-sub-sub-directories. (Although, being a fan of using sub-directories myself, sometimes that's exactly how it should sensibly be!) To be honest, I personally feel that at the moment this feature adds no value, and is hardly worth the (tiny little bit of) real estate it takes up on the page.
