Maintaining a Good Share Ratio We provide members with a wide variety of ways to keep above the minimum ratio requirement: Seed downloads to earn upload credit (newer torrents = more traffic) Seed downloads to earn 0.5 seed bonus points per hour (exchange for upload credit) Reseed older torrent requests with only one/zero seeders to earn upload credit. This means redownload .torrent file and point toward file on hard drive. Upload new torrents to earn upload credit when others download. This is possible even with download rights suspended Upload new torrents to receive thank you seed bonus points gifted from other members Download and seed freeleech torrents. This costs no download amount and gives you upload credit on these heavy traffic torrents Vote category on completed downloads to earn 2 seed bonus points per vote Search for duplicate torrents and earn 50 seed bonus points per confirmed report. Submit pictures for torrents with < 10 total photos to earn 1 point per approved picture Post your personal affiliate membership link to other areas of the internet or send to friends. @machinelad When you are the most recent to grab a torrent, and nobody else is currently downloading the same torrent, there will be no seeding activity on your part. When you select a torrent to download, it may help to pick one that is very new or with few seeders with more leechers, so that you can help share (seed) the files with others. Here is more help with ratio: https://community.gaytor.rent/topic/34754/advice-for-our-members-how-to-maintain-a-healthy-ratio

I seem to have a similar issue, where packs I only partially downloaded are listed as leeching. I understand my ratio is dropping (0.838 right now), but either way it's claiming I've downloaded >8 files in the last 24 hours, which is not accurate at all. Every file listed under my leeching files was completed weeks if not months ago. Please let me know if there's anything I can do to help remediate the problem!

@zwinna Wow that is new to me. It is still showing as free leech, and it will not hurt your ratio during that time. Have you downloaded it yet? There is a special note on that torrent: == NOTE FROM GT.ru STAFF == This torrent is NOT broken it simply reports as zero size due to a harmless torrent file table-of-contents error. The actual torrent size is 2.43GiB It downloads properly if you want it! == NOTE FROM GT.ru STAFF ==

@leo2003 The other option is you can finish downloading ALL of the files in the torrent, however this will obviously have an impact on your ratio.

Hi @sportykitguy! Donations do indeed help, for both you and this site! The Donators Menu shows how many extra download slots become available for the different amounts (along with seeded credits that help your ratio). Go to https://www.gaytor.rent/userdetails.php and look at the Permissions to see how many torrents you have downloaded in the past 24 hours, and at how many you are allowed to download. Please keep in mind if you are currently leeching a torrent (and it has not completely downloaded) it counts against how many you can have running - see the Rationator at https://www.gaytor.rent/rationator.php Here is the best advice to help you with your ratio: https://community.gaytor.rent/topic/34754/advice-for-our-members-how-to-maintain-a-healthy-ratio It is a bit of a learning curve we all have to go through, and it can be overwhelming. Just take your time, and do feel free to ask questions if you get stuck. Ricky GayTorrent.ru Staff

@x69x Sorry this has been frustrating, it is certainly a learning curve for so many of us (even me!). With the 137mb - once others got all of it from you, they continued sharing it with others also wanting what you offered. A big part of connecting with others to share files is in making sure ports are forwarded correctly - please check yours at https://portforward.com. Hi @carlosmunoz Check to see if you are forwarding your ports: https://www.portforward.com There needs to be others leeching when you are seeding. If there are 20 seeders, but only 1 leecher, you're not going to have much upload activity. When you choose your next torrent with a goal of improving your ratio, you can pick ones that are newer with more leechers than seeders. You still get 0.5 seed bonus points (SBP) for every hour you keep your torrents running. Welcome to here - happy torrenting! Ricky GayTorrent.ru Staff

Hi @bluered35 ! Seeding is sharing what you downloaded, with others that also want the files, and you do that by leaving it running even after you finish downloading. You improve your ratio by letting your downloads continue to seed (or share). If you give more data than you take, then it is very good for your ratio. If you still need help with your ratio even after you keep seeding, you may be able to improve your ratio by downloading a current Free Leech torrent and leave that running to seed with others. Downloading this will not hurt your ratio, and seeding will help your ratio. Free Leech torrents can be found at https://www.gaytor.rent/search.php?infl=1 Welcome, and happy torrenting Ricky

@g35 How is upload calculated... this relies on GT tracker connected to your account... this is base upon your bandwidth [speed], uploads of 500MB = .1 [point] with peers connected... seeding w/o peers 0.5 seed bonus points /hr... see RATIONATOR: https://www.gaytor.rent/rationator.php [this explain upload /download share statistics...]

@arpheus said in My tracker only seems to register my Upload ratio as long as I keep my gt.ru profile logged in on the browser: I've been trying to keep my ratio up, I keep my client open during day and night and the site only records about 5% of my upload data. Just curious: do you use a VPN? It discouraging to try to keep a good ratio if the tracker only logs a small percentage of the data. The only way to keep a good ratio nowadays is to upload which promotes reposts and lazy collection torrents. My own tracker (qBittorrent) reports how much data is uploaded - and I am on a VPN (NordVPN, to be exact)... and I've noted as well that my ratios are way off as reported on the site vs. my tracker. Specifically - over time, my own client reports that I've uploaded about 2.5x the amount I've downloaded.... but I've been stuck - FOR YEARS - on this tracker at about a 0.83 ratio. Mind you, after being here for years, I've downloaded 23TB of data, and uploaded only about 19.5TB... (I almost rounded that to 20TB, but then i thought about it: that's 500GB of data I'm rounding! That's a LOT of data!) My point is this: At 20TB of data (plus or minus), I've been making this work - even over a VPN and even using Linux (vs. Windows) clients - for a long time... be patient, and work within the rules.

First, unless you download 100% of ALL of the files in a torrent, the tracker will still only register you as leeching the torrent. Second, the stats in your profile only show the amount of data that has transferred for the current session. When you stop a torrent then restart it for any reason, the stats in your profile will reset to zero once you start seeding the torrent again.

regardless of original or copied files as long as 100 % downloaded… you can delete w/c ever you want to reduce disk capacity... to seed, download [torrent] and point and locate the exact name/folder/files/location to your hard drive where ever you keep them… [if you rename the torrent file/folder...copy and locate the torrent name and rename the exact copy of torrent file that you own... once force re-check started you can see the progress of the torrent if the file is right... Good Luck !!!

@Poernerlook: Thank you for all your tips! I still didn't download more than 1 gb, but I understand that downloading heavier files (such as 555 photos) can affect my ratio so much. If I may, I have a newer problem (and even a more critical one). Because I am a horsemen of the Apocalypse when it comes to technology. I managed to fuck things up and had to reinstall windows completely, thus losing all of my torrents and files for seeding*. It may come a bit selfish, but for the sake of my account, my first priority is to bump up my ratio once again to a "safe zone" (because between my last message and this one, my ratio dropped to 2.6). How do you recommend to do so? Of course I want to seed because it's the right thing to do, but being banned won't help anyone. *Technically I do have one file left on another computer, but I won't be able to reach it until Tusday It's not selfish to worry about your ratio, it's smart.  So many people get off on the wrong foot with their ratio.  Just focus on freeleech torrents for a while and you shouldn't have problems building up a good ratio based on a decent amount of downloading and uploading.
  • Why do torrents cost different amounts of seed bonus to make Freeleech?

@LostStoner: I'm kind of familiar with the seed bonus as far as how you earn it, and what you can spend it on. However I don't understand why one torrent will cost, 55.783 Seed bonus Points per day (2.324 points per hour) Meanwhile another torrent will cost, 1531.463 Seed bonus Points per day (63.811 points per hour). Can anyone explain why they cost different amounts? What is the amount based on/determined by? Or does the system randomly assign a Seed Bonus cost that isn't really based on anything? It's based on the size of the torrent. That's one of the reasons large collections are bad, because it costs so many seedbonus points to make them freeleech that almost no one would do so.
