Guidance Needed (Likely from Mod) Re Seeding Recently Freeleeched torrent
-
I've just begun seeding a newly freeleeched HoyBoysAtPlay torrent at https://www.gaytor.rent/details.php?id=U-kl8kSwlZc-8sTHRxFlFw
I didn't get a reseed request, I just thought I had it. I set everything up and did a "force recheck". Turns out I have only 86.8% of it, the balance being .wmv files I've converted to .mp4 and the images included in the torrent. The torrent shows a single seeder but I'm not connecting to him and I have the feeling this is the case for everyone else now trying to grab it.
I'm seeding the files I have, but I'm wondering whether, in fact, I should. Unless someone having the full torrent in the original format joins, neither I nor those leeching from me are going to be able to complete it, and make the switch from leecher to seeder. Personally, I hate having partially downloaded torrents like that, as I'm sure others do. Thing is, no doubt some are downloading this as much to help them with their ratio, as for a desire for the videos it contains.
Should I stop seeding for now and wait to see if someone with the full contents comes along, before others have also made a big commitment in the hope of this happening?

@Kevin4fm ... Keep seeding while on Freeleech and stop when time runs out, to contribute the rest of your file,
I am helping out also and ask for re-seed however there are only recent 12 snatchers who grab these files ... -
@john32123666 Ok, will do. I just didn't want to leave anyone hanging 'cos I can't totally deliver. At least as it's freeleech, it doesn't actually cost anyone anything, even if they have to abandon it only partially completed.

With a torrent of that size and number of files, it is quite possible that the majority of the current downloaders aren't looking to download the entire torrent. Keeping what you have seeding, may contain all the files they want anyway. Someone else may come along with files you don't have to help with full completions for those looking to do so.
Not connecting to the 1 completed seeder won't be a problem, if someone else does connect and receives, then seeds what you don't have. I'd venture a guess that some of the leechers also didn't download the complete torrent, on purpose.

hoping to get the same download so i'll leave things running here too

Yay! Someone with everything - or at least who can fill in the gaps - has joined the party, so everyone can reach 100%.

If there's only one seed and you're not able to connect to them, then it's most likely that both of you do not have your port forwarding settings in order. When the only seed(s) do not have their port forwarding settings in order, the only way to get around this is to have yours in place because one way or the other, one of your devices will need to be able to connect to the other, whether it's the traditional "active" way where you connect to the seed, or the "passive" way where the seed connects directly to you, and the traffic is sent through the follow back path of the connection.
You need to be sure that the port your torrent client uses is forwarded through your home router or VPN to your computer, both in TCP and UDP. This is a critical step for getting proper upload, and in some cases, even being able to download properly.

@MrMazda Thanks.
I believe my port forwarding settings are correct now. Since I moved to a VPN that supports it, I've seen a dramatic and continued upsurge in how many torrents I'm seeding. Most of the time, I'm at my maximum upload speed, and there are a few torrents I'm seeding where a sole leecher had been trying for ages, and soon after setting up port forwarding, these completed.
Having said all that, I'll take a look at it again, especially my router settings, as I don't recall having to do anything with them. There may be some additional tweaks I can make to improve things even further.
