Oh wow... gay-torrents.org is definitely dead.
Will gaytor.rent be next?
An alternative is www.gay-torrents.net but I personally think that future is not very bright for the torrents. Basically in addition to all legal strains the Gen-Z and younger generations are not using torrents massively which limits torrent source availability and also exposes to a higher risk the rest of the users as we are very few.

Any updates on what's happening with .org?I think I saw Matthew Mancs, who I think is/was an admin, around here at one point.Maybe he can give an update?

@Osiris3 I believe all the admins are still included in the complaint (as of July 6th). So it's very doubtful we'll hear from any of them about this, any time soon. The lawsuit appears to still be moving forward, slowly.

From what I've seen with reports of any lawsuits over the years if there is any visible movement at all then that is regarded as moving quite quickly.

Looks like FW filed a second suit in August targetting users. Ugh.

"Although both cases are pending in this Court and this case has scarcely gotten off the ground, the Court finds that reassignment remains improper for several reasons. Initially, it is not clear that reassignment would expedite the resolution of these matters or save any time or effort. The cases target two different categories of defendants (Deniau targets the operators of the site, which has since been taken offline, while the Scull action targets the individual members whose participation sustained the Site), and the Scull case adds RICO and conspiracy claims not asserted in this case. Moreover, based upon Plaintiff's most recent status report, it appears that the defendants in this case will need to be identified via discovery and then served via the Hague Convention, a months−long process that Plaintiff has not yet even begun. In contrast, the Defendants named in the Scull case are all adult individuals residing within the United States." -
@xgclx How do they know where the users are located? In the Canadian courts, it was ruled that an IP address alone is insufficient to verify the location of the end-user because of the advancements in technologies such as VPN, and that with the days of wireless technology, the IP address alone does not prove that the activity even took place on the actual property of the service subscriber.
It just blows my mind that the US courts seem to be accepting IP address as some sort of validation or proof, especially with rulings like the one I just mentioned, as well as the ruling that declared that an IP address alone does not identify the end-user of the device that was used in the alleged activity. Both of these rulings came in the case of Voltage Pictures Inc v TekSavvy Solutions Inc not all that long ago.
In any event, it's going to be interesting to see how this all plays out. Canada cites US rulings (and vice versa) all the time, especially when there is no precedent currently set within our courts, but one has been set in another common law country.

@MrMazda I do not know where any users are located... I just quoted the judge's rulings on FW's motion to combine cases and move to the other judge.
The Scull case is against a specific FW subscriber who uploaded a video purchased from FW to GTorg. This subscriber resides in the US
But Exhibit D from the Scull case lists the users (as GTorg user IDs)... somehow FW has linked the GTorg user IDs to an email address and says these are US residents (page 6 of the complaint).
--> I have no idea how they could have done this, TBH. Maybe I missed it in the document. -
