Currently using qbittorrent, and I'm pretty pleased with it. But since I like trying out new software, I wondered what you guys were using and if you recommend it?

I started with Azeurus, which changed into Vuze which was abandoned by the money grubbers and resurrected as BiglyBT. I'm not sure I'd start where I did if I had it to do over again, but I have settings that work and I haven't had any major problems. It also still updates occasionally, and at least someone is paying attention to things that break.

I've had minor issues on other sites, but none here.

And I like that it automatically de-selects pad files when they occur. But that last thing is not really a reason to pick one client over another.

@tnar I follwed the same route to wind up on BiglyBT too. One feature I use regularly is the labelling/tagging function, so I can set up rules for new torrents when they're added. All my porn gets a porn tag automatically, then downloads to one folder before moving to a completed folder. I have another rule set up for the trackers I use for films or software. It;s just nice to have is all run without any real interference required. I don't know if other clients have that ability or not, but with Bigly I just download the torrent file itself and an when it's done everything is neatly organised into it's own folders.

The UI is quite nice too. I seem to be able to fit more info on screen than I can with most other clients.

I also use the category system - mostly to track where I got things, so I know which torrents I need to keep vs. archive to maintain ratios.
Speaking of the archive, that's useful for finding long-ago downloaded posts when reseed requests come up.

@jokuihmemies Of all the versions, it's the most universally compatible with all trackers from my experience. With our tracker, you can usually go up to version 3.5.5, but do not try 3.6.0, as it has known compatibility issues with our systems.

If you're looking for it, I have a copy of the installer stashed away on my private server here:

Also, 2.2.1 is the last version before they started to add bloatware.

It works for me very nicely.

                        Former ones I used:
                        uTorrent
                        Deluge
