Sorry but the search function is so lame now. Before you could enter search terms with quotation marks and get torrent search results with that exact term(s), but now even with quotation marks you'll get torrents that have nothing to do with the exact search terms.

As someone who has actively hated most UI updates in the last 5 or so years, and not be silent about that...

I actually really like this one. It does just about everything better, and most critically, it does what many other UI updates don't: it gives the user a substantial number of ways to adjust it to their preferences.

So that's a solid "well done" from me.

That being said...the scaling is kinda wonky at least for me. It seems like a bug, and I'm assuming its going to get worked on, but as of right now, its I'm having to do a lot of zooming and unzooming of the page, and its getting bit frustrating.

Don't care much for the new layout of the site, honestly. The old version may've seemed out of date, but at least it was familiar.

Also don't like that we're being forced to change our passwords. I like using the same one consistently throughout many sites. I don't care about the supposed risks of passwords being leaked or whatever. It's weird that our arms are being twisted with the threat of not being able to login soon unless we get new passwords.

Is there something in particular that you don't like about the layout? There are many adjustable options in your profile preferences to make the site look and feel almost exactly like the old layout.

I understand your concerns about the password policy. All I can really say on this is that this decision was made with your best interests in mind. I know all too well about the convenience and ease of the same password across the board, and definitely understand the frustration of having to remember to type a new password than the one you've probably embedded into muscle memory.

With the security upgrades also came some upgrades for your convenience as well. For example, under the old system, once you logged in, you had exactly 6 hours before you were forcibly logged out, even if you were in the middle of something. Many users (including myself) found this to be very inconvenient and in some ways, even very frustrating. This has now changed.

In addition to being able to change how long the timer runs before you are logged out, the timer now runs on a rolling basis. This means that if you set the timer at a week for example, the timer will be for one week instead of only 6 hours, and every time you do something on the site (even just looking at the homepage while you are logged in), this timer will reset. This means that even if you are a user who only checks the site once every few days, you will only be asked for your password the first time you login, and after that point, you can keep going, without being asked for your password constantly, as long as you at least open the home page once a week.

This was done so that you not only have a better balance of convenience and security, and so that you have the option to choose the exact balance between convenience and security for your own personal preferences. I understand this change may not be your cup of tea, but in my opinion, it is better to be safe than sorry. We don't want to see anyone in a position where their account gets compromised, resulting in their ratio being destroyed such that it becomes almost impossible for them to get it sorted out without having to make a donation they cannot afford. I know it's not ideal for some, but our sysop takes the security and privacy of our users VERY seriously.

@bak2jak report your wonky view using the ladybug button, this way the site owner will automatically be sent information about your device and its resolution to see what is causing it

Is it just me or do the thumbnails seem different in the new site, as though they have been run through an AI image editor / generator rather than being proper screenshots?

I definitely appreciate the premise of modernization, but would be nice to actually see what the torrent contains 😅

With quite a bit of assistance from AI models I'm guessing? They definitely do help increase velocity

This new UI is absolutely amazing. I've never come out of lurking just to praise an upgrade before but I am so impressed.
