@justatest90-0 PrEP is very expensive in Taiwan if you are not a high risk person (like say medical workers). I heard that you have to buy it in Thailand if you want it cheaper, like vastly cheaper. Otherwise a course of prep is something like close to 1000 dollars. But once you become positive, the government pays the costs, and first 2 years is paid for by the Taiwan's version of CDC, after that it's paid for by the national healthcare.

Yeah, Healthy food is more expensive than cheap TV dinners At least for small families/bachelors. For large families its the opposite, but the time and effort of cooking is alot more, especially since you are also more busy

Seriously, go and do what you want. It's probably healthier to play football, but it's more important that you dexercise consistantly. THis is just my 2 cents worth though

Slice the carbs off, if you really cut the cereals and potatoes starch off and watch the sugars like a hawk you will lose weight, due to allergies I watch my sugars and even a natural yoghurt has around 5 gr in it… there are protein bars with stevia and poliols as sweetners those might help since most others are loaded with sugar... you will get craves after a month so eat something like bread once a month it's ok, just not everyday as you try to lose some weight...  also your taste will change, bitter things will turn way more rounded in flavour and two months on this and after you try something with "average" sugar content will make you nausiated and wanting to puke. That is how much extrasugar people are used to eat without actual need.

@mkpacman71: For those who have done it, my question is this - the program says to take a day off..  If I wanted to do 2 days in a row, should I just complete the last workout again? As a general rule, they advise to take a day off to let the muscles recuperate from the stress of being worked, especially if they have not been worked in a long time. While you could continue to do two days in a row, I would recommend changing up the routine for the 2nd day to help promote proper muscle growth, instead of letting your muscles get used to the workout, since they don't develop well if that happens.

@althomme: any opinions about atkins? The "new" version of the Atkins diet is extremely similar to the zone diet. I would just refer to that, high protein diets are fine, there's many athletes and bodybuilders who rely on them. It was discovered the original version of the Atkins diet was "unhealthy" over long durations of time, so the protein and fat goals were pushed down and carbs were scaled up. I think some people misunderstood why the Atkins diet works so they took it to extremes and were completely avoiding carbs (this is an extremely bad idea, you need carbs.) Note: High protein diets are generally not associated with good heart health, which was the point of the original post. The reason for this is likely to be over consumption of certain fats and cholesterol, which is avoidable by varying protein sources, which is generally a good idea on any diet. So if the calculator tells you that you need 185g of protein a day, it's not a great idea to get that all from steak, bacon, and eggs.

I suppose the point is moot.  Either you are obese and you will choose to stay that way or you are not overweight and there is no cause for alarm.  Being overweight causes more harm than we currently know, these articles serve as a precaution to fast food bingers.
