@Hier0nymous: Looks like the anti-DDoS thing has also blocked members who have done nothing wrong from connecting to the tracker. I have not been able to download or seed anything all day… Well, if this is the case, then the anti-DDoS is blocking complete ISPs and/or multitude of IP subnets, as I force reconnected my PPPoE session a couple times, and I received IPs from 4 different subnets, and none of them works. I also have TM 3.00, but it did worked after the update for a couple days, so why would it stop now. Only this tracker is affected, the rest works flawlessly.

I appreciate getting the points as a reward whether or not I actually need them. The duplicate files have not been removed when I've checked after not getting points, but I was not checking for a long time so I don't know for sure. The other thing I noticed is that when reporting duplicate files that are not 100% exactly the same, they don't get removed even though they meet the site's definition of duplicate files. So it just seems very inconsistent. I wouldn't have even brought it up because I know the mods are very busy just keeping the site up and running but I am glad someone else mentioned it!  :cheesy2:

It would be easier to simply ban collections.  They have a lot of disadvantages that have been discussed here previously.

@lololulu19: Nobody even uses screen savers anymore, so there is no good reason for SCR files to exist. Anybody posting an SCR file should have all their previous uploads "examined" Unfortunately, .scr also stands for a Windows script file–meaning it's essentially an executable file (like .exe) but it will bypass most anti-virus checks or even a dialog box asking "Do you really want to run this file?"  They are super-dangerous and downright malicious.  People who upload these should be permanently banned from the site. In an ideal world, the gt.ru software would block any torrent containing such files--but I can imagine that putting in a patch like that would be time consuming and risky.  Software is often like a house of cards:  Fixing one piece of it can have disastrous results on the rest.

You should check the seeding settings in your torrent client. Most have a predefined maximum seeding ratio after which, seeding will stop. You can change the default value to seed regardless of ratio if you want, at least in most popular clients.

@eobox91103: videos themselves:  Images in a listing are actually contained on the gt.ru server, whereas the videos in a torrent are specifically not on a gt.ru server–they are on individual members' computers, hence the term "peer-to-peer" file sharing. I had seen this on another tracker site and wondered about it.  Now I understand why they will host the torrent but not allow pics.  Thanks for the clear explanation!

Thanks for the explanation! I hope it gets fixed soon.  @MrMazda: Apparently, there were further complications than expected with some changes that we have recently brought forward. The result is that the tracker is currently not behaving properly for most users most of the time. We are looking into the cause and are in the process of trying to fix the issue.

This is because you have seeded content to other users and have been given the credit for it.
