are you behind firewall/proxy that you can not control? if so then either socksify your client and create a tunnel over the firewall/proxy to outside world using ssh or see if your proxy supports torrents ~rR

@jaybeebrad: What I can't stand, or UNDERstand, is when the site says 7 people are seeding but I can't get it to transfer, or if I'm lucky it goes at 0.1kb/second. I'm downloading the ManifestMen collections right now and they really ought to have been done in a few hours with 7-ish seeders each, but they're not! A part of the issue is as well that some of the seeder's and your's torrent client programmes are not connectable (see http://tracker.gaytor.rent/details.php?id=42368&dllist=1#seeders ). If both in a swarm seed and leech are not connectable, no communication will be possible between them, and the clients will prefer connectable clients. Being not connectable can have multiple sources: 1/ Firewall is blocking: check Windows Firewall to have an exception for incoming connections for your Torrent Client (or activate the option to create an exception in the Windows Firewall, if it got it). If you got another firewall on your computer, e.g. from the Antivirus suite, create an exception for the port used in your torrent client. 2/ Your Router/Modem (the box from your ISP) is not sending incoming requests to your PC. a) If it supports UPnP and your client, too, activate them in both b) Else, give your PC a fixed local IP address (read the operating system help how to do, read the modem manual for the IP address range to chose from, typically 192.168.1.xxx or 192.168.0.xxx) create a thing which may be called something like "Local server", "Port forwarding" or "NAT (Network Address Translation")" for that IP and the port number used in client. For this you need to read the manual of the modem / rouer or it's suppliers (ISP) online help. portforwarding.com has help for many models

I had forgotten totally about the sorting box. If u dont use something then it doesn't exist in your head I just discovered that you can apply aaliass tip for sorting the torrents according to the number of seeders also in the 'browse' section and the subsequent categories. 269 seeders at the moment the most seeded torrent. Raging stallion rulezzzzzzzz 

I had one time waited for 4 hours, and then I decided to go into chatroom to find a MOD to ask. But no MOD was avaliable at that time. So I just continued to wait, and after about 40 more minutes, I got approved. My experience is keeping just one seeding in the client, and do not download anyone at that time, it will be very fast like within 10minutes. I will go for avi/dixv movie files, with external srt subtitles. I use Subscene website to find subtitles and when they are out of sync I use TimeAdjaster (simple) or subtitle workshop (more advanced)

@fresnopup: Is there any sort of strategy to follow that would handle this issue that is most helpful to the network? What I do is strategic 'thinning out' of the hard drive. When the drive reaches its capacity I delete some torrents from the BT client and transfer the files either to my external HD or dvd discs. Torrents that I delete can be: The ones that have the most seeders (and if needed reseed them in the future when the seeder numbers dropped) The ones that have been seeding the longest. The ones with higher ratio (according to BT client statistics) The bigger size ones, as it will make more space. Not ALL these 3 factors have to apply. Can be just one or combination of them.  It also depends on how much space I want to free. Rotating the torrents is healthy for the community as you give a chance to more people and torrents to circulate. @cumeaternc: What are some other ways you guys archive your videos? I keep my porn archived in my external hard drive according to studios but without the spreadsheet. I use a similar spreadsheet to cumeaternc 's but for my cinema movies (alphabetically the movies & numbered dvds).

Unfortunately, the ratio shown on your personal page isn't always correct.  It only shows the next value you must meet.  Once you reach that value, it shows the next value and so on. Personally, I'd prefer if it showed the highest value you have to reach for your ratio at the time. Check your PMs.

I think I had no coffe yet when I posted my answer I had an (outdated) old version of the advertising php script on my computer where ads (containing seperate links) in fact got included in the html page at our server. In the meantime adbrite only works with scripts on their own servers. I completely agree with your last paragraph: @beeman: It is nothing to bee concirned about as adbrite are a well known and "respectable" advertising company, but it is a fact that just browsing this (and any site that has adds provided by adbrite (or google adds or any1 else)) has access to your ipa. this is NOT because the site is handing over the details but simply the way html works. Just a last thought about this topic: Since the start of this site we offer the possibility to switch of advertising for donators. For those members the javascript parts (or ad images links) are not included in the html page.
