@FairyFae: My mother has my brothers and me! She and her partner have been together for 30+ years. They live in Kansas where gay marriage hasn't been formally legalized yet, but the laws allow for them to be common-law married now. So when my mom had a stroke, her partner, my stepmom, went to a lawyer to find out if she could legally handle Mom's affairs and found out because they had a formal ceremony of committment in front of witnesses (300 of us!) they are married in the eyes of the law. So yes. Family we are! :congrats:

@Valicore: You of course can't change it, anymore than you can make a straight person gay. Sexual attraction is a very complicated combination of genetics, environment, epigenetics, etc. I don't think you would be any more successful at changing someone's sexual orientation through genetic therapies than you would be at changing one's bone structure - it's too deeply embedded in the brain and in our body's physical chemistry. Agreed–I feel like there's an infinite number of variables that contribute to homosexuality--and the one thing I can say is that it's natural. It occurs at a relatively uncommon (compared to heterosexuality), but constant rate. It happens in wildlife and humans--I don't think we could ever learn enough about what "causes" homosexuality to ever be able to change it.  And then again, why would we need to? It's never going to overtake heterosexuality but it's never going away either--it's constant. Sexuality, (and by that I mean true, willing attraction to whatever it is you're attracted to) cannot be taught. Behaviors can be taught, but behaviors don't say everything about what's going on inside the brain.  True sexual identification can only happen individually–you can never see inside someone's brain to see if their sexual experience is exactly the same as yours, even if you both identify the same way. As each person learns to understand the world differently, they come to understand themselves differently, and (what we categorize as) sexuality follows. It just is, and we're all trying to describe our experience. Our labels (homo/hetero/bi/a/pan/every other type of sexuality) are just a categorization of external behaviors, but inside each of our brains, it's much much more complex and and no two humans are alike. That's why I don't think it can or should ever try to be changed.

I prefer the word "queer" as an umbrella term for all "non-sexuality/gender-conforming individuals" - basically anyone who is not heterosexual or cisgendered. You can continue to further define it as necessary, but I think it's much more convenient then LGBTQIAWTFBBQ. But I can understand why some people would not agree with that usage, since the word has kind of a doubly negative connotation, in both older and modern English. Personally, I'm all for the reclaiming of "stolen" words, like the word "gay" itself. @llibyor: Actually the A is for Asexual. it has documented use both ways, so it's really both.

@raphjd: Technically, the bible does not condemn gays as beings.  It only condemns gay sex, if interpret it that way. Most modern day believers accept the being vs actions argument. I believe that I pointed that out.  Love the person and not the sin and God did and does.  He prevented the stoning of prostitute because he said "he who is without sin, cast the first stone".  This does not in any way, shape or form mean that he condones Prostitution nor does condone gay sex, even though he still loves gay people and gay people can still follow him.

Gay people can't turn straight is what I think….. but depending on the cultural regions, Gay people have to marry one day and live a straight life.

When I was younger, I chose to be straight… due to societal pressures and fear of discrimination... but I guess it goes down to biology and I couldn't follow through with my choice... so I later chose to accept who I really was... I think it helps to think that there is nothing wrong with yourself... the 'something wrong' lies in the rest of society who chose to discriminate...

@myrea: The question is albeit freewill might exist, in a dogmatic view the path, and choice of path, and circumstance that make you chose said path, is always guided or predestined by a diety in some way… hence (god fault ) this in typical monotheist culture, I'd could easily argue that christianiaty is  not monotheistic and that god is unperfect in the bible, so freewill might actually exist around faulted dieties... Who defines being perfect.. one's idea of perfection is all conditioning.. what may seem perfect to one may not be true for the other.. so if you think that a deity has to be perfect.. it should actually match ones idea of perfection.. hence nothing can be perfect… if viewed by all

I prefer to suck.  Guy I'm with doesn't seem to enjoy it so much tho but other guys I suck usually moan a lot when I do it.  I'm conscious about my cock so don't really like to get sucked.
