I know first hand how hard that situation can be. Granted I don't know the circumstances of how everything went down, but I would seem to think that it ended for a reason. The one thing I will say is that sometimes going back can do more damage in the end than letting it go. I unfortunately had to learn this lesson by having given my ex-husband a second chance.

As hard as it may be to do, in most cases, it's often best.

I admit it is easy to use UPnP to open ports in your equipment - but be sure to log such attempts (if at all possible) and watch that log carefully!

I recommend though to have at least one secure "last barrier" which will not react on UPnP and handle that barrier (in my case my external router to the internet) manually. Call my paranoid, but I'm very cautious about the security of my LAN - that pays off too - I had several intrusion attempts in the last couple of years but I always could delete the regarding software without harm being done

For this very reason I would suggest also using a firewall such as ZoneAlarm. It will allow you to lock your machine down in such a manner that upon malware attacks, the firewall must first be configured to allow the program, port, etc prior to it being able to make the connection.

Quite correct. It should be at the responsibility of the indiviuals participating in the film to have the proper testing done prior to engaging in such activities. The practices demonstrated in most films also don't leave much for the lines of "low risk" activity, even when condoms are used. They're only effective when used properly, which in most cases is just not the case.

On that note, as bad as this may sound, do not ever take anyone's word when it comes to their "status". This comes from an unfortunate mistake I made two years ago. I trusted the wrong person, and due to a publication ban, the only thing I can say is I'm now HIV+. The worse part was that I in fact did pass it on to one individual because of the other problem. To the best of my knowledge at the time, my status was negative… Little did I know at the time that my one small lapse in judgement cost me a whole lot more in the end. Only believe it when you see it.

As for your little "situation" as it were, the only advice I can offer you is to go with what truly feels right to you. When you find the one you're destined for, you will know it.

What's even more frightening is that studies have also shown that an alarmingly large number of people infected with HIV do not even know that they have it.

The other more interesting part however is that these statistics only speak for North America (particularly the USA), wheras the statistics will also show that on a worldwide scale, the largest percentage of infected persons living with HIV are heterosexual females.

I seriously doubt that school buses have been so severely redesigned since I was in school that they didn't know it was going on.

Having been a victim of the same crime in highschool, I'm shocked that the US didn't follow suit. After a detailed pison pen letter detailing reasons why I had a case to present a lawsuit and locking horns with the government in court to challenge the legal system, the government of Canada introduced the "Safe and Secure Schools Act", which would have also held the bus driver responsible for damages as they would have known about the issue and failed to do anything to stop it.

Not to mention, gay bashing is now treated the same way as a sex crime in Canada down to and including registering with the sex offender's registry.
