I downloaded one 5.36 Gig file one time on Sept 27. That's the only download I've had since Sept 9. I got a ratio warning, but fixed it right away with seedbonus points for 2.5 gigs. Got taken right back off ratio warning minutes after being on it.

Somehow the site has it that last 24 hours I've downloaded around 22 Gigs and upped around 8. But there's no record of any download other than that one 5.36 torrent. I can't figure out how 8 to 5 comes out 8 to 22, but I'm back on ratio warning.

@frostycab If they're on my account, wouldn't their activity stiil get logged? And the first thing I did was check for any recent sessions i didn't recognize. There's no torrents listed I don't recognize.

It's just the totals overall and 24 hours that are weird.

@Phenlandia resetting your password & passkey and killing all existing sessions is the only way to make sure no one is able to access your account or that someone with access to your existing passkey use it to download their torrents and letting your account take the ratio damage.

don't wait for a staff member before you take this action because they can only act AFTER you took those steps and the issue occurs again.

you can reset your password AND your passkey in this page: https://www.gaytor.rent/my.php#sec-account

and this one to terminate your existing sessions: https://www.gaytor.rent/mysessions.php

be aware that all the torrents that you are currently seeding will stop working, you will need to update their tracker URL with your new passkey.

Once again I'd like to remind everyone that it's not mandatory that you speak.

              @ianfontinell Thanks for replying

              Update:

I've changed my password twice and changed my torrent passkey twice, logged out of all sessions, changed my session length to auto-close quickly instead of staying open. Reset computer.

I have shut off my client, downloaded no torrent files since the passkey reset. No threads running in system monitor.

Profile STILL shows the same one torrent as being seeded. The numbers were zero yesterday but finally uploaded to say I'd downloaded it over six times (33Gig on 5.3 Gig) and uploaded 22Gig.

So all the traffic is definitely just on this one torrent.

That one torrent still shows as seeding, which shouldn't be possible on an old passkey. Sometimes there can be a delay on what shows as Seeding.

@Phenlandia now that sounds more like something wrong with your account, lemme tag @mrmazda and @joker so they can investigate as soon as possible

Changing your password, and even enabling 2FA and/or a passkey for the site will go a long way to secure the account itself and any information found within the account. The passkey is something else entirely, as this is how your torrent client(s) will identify your account to the tracker. If your passkey has been compromised, then a bad actor doesn't necessarily need access to your account directly in order to download under your account. They only need to download any .torrent file, then change the tracker URL to contain your passkey instead of theirs.

With this being said, I do not believe this to be the situation in this case. Even with this being the case, it can't hurt to change your password and passkey anyway, as this will not keep YOU from using your own account, but it absolutely WILL ensure that any information (password or passkey) that may have fallen into someone else's hands somehow will become completely useless to that person.

@MrMazda note that he has already changed his pw and key and the rogue traffic was traced to one torrent in particular

@ianfontinell The only thing that worked was to shut off the client and stop seeding anything at all.

I already fixed my ratio with a seedbonus just to wind up with a 22Gig deficit a few hours later.

I looked at your account. Nothing foreign is on it, and the numbers are simply this: you have downloaded 3.2 TB in total, so 0.80 means you need 2.56 TB uploaded, and you are 21 GB short of that. The 2.5 GB from the bonus points lifted you just over the line on the 27th, and the rest of that 5.36 GB download, which was still running, pulled you back under two hours later. That is the whole weirdness. Seed those 21 GB, or trade more points, and the warning stays gone. By the way, your client is not announcing anything to the tracker right now, so nothing is being uploaded at the moment. Joker

I've been at the .8 level for years. You can't download 5 gigs, seed 33, cash in a seedbonus, and wind up with a deficit of 22.

As I said, I couldn't seed without the download tally on the site inexplicably exploding right along with the upload. I only downloaded once and was only seeding but the download tally kept running up and up and up and nothing but shutting off the client stopped it.

                          Thanks for replying.

@ianfontinell I'm on Mac so client options aren't great.

I started on seedr, but it stopped reporting Upload traffic after 300MB, though I was still getting credit for uploading past that on the site. So I moved to Folk, no stats, and then Transmission, no stats. I just had to go by what the site tracker said.

I did did NOT accidentally download three different times. I imported on pause, forced a file check, and made absolutely sure the client was at 100% and seeding when the torrent started.

I think the problem was worst in Transmission. The site just kept running up my download total for the torrent along with the upload total the entire time I was seeding. But Transmission never showed anything other than seeding, though the tally of how much it HAD uploaded never went up, even when it was actively uploading. Which is kind of crap you have to expect from Transmission sometimes, unfortunately.

@Phenlandia try qbittorrent and see if it's fully functional/free of those nasty bugs: https://sourceforge.net/projects/qbittorrent/files/qbittorrent-mac/qbittorrent-5.2.3/qbittorrent-5.2.3.dmg/download

i am not at all familiar with the mac version, but it works great for windows and linux.

                                  Hi Phenlandia,

I went through it again and sent you the details by PM. Short version: on that one torrent far more download was counted than it is big, so the difference above its size has been credited back to your account.
