I started on Azureus, and have stuck with it throught the years as it changed to Vuze and finally to BiglyBT, the latest incarnation. Does what it says on the tin, but has a lot more options than many of the other clients I've tried. Like @ianfontinell I love having the ability to set categories and tags for my downloads, and automate a lot of them based on where they came from.

        Most staff use uTorrent v2.2.1.

It's ancient, but it still works well. It's the last uTorrent before it was loaded with bloatware and other crap. I won't touch any uTorrent after that.

@raphjd I wouldn't recommend using that old a version of uTorrent. It's full of security holes, and has exploits available for RCE and DNS binding attacks.......

That was released around 15 years ago.

Other trackers also specifically block that version of uTorrent - for the above reasons.

Yes... To make sure I never loose the installer again, I have placed it on my private server here:

            https://www.tech911solutions.com/docs/uTorrent-2.2.1.exe

Every time I need to install or reinstall it, I use this copy of the installer.

Anyone still using uTorrent 2.2.1, you really must make sure that net.discoverable option is False and webui is disabled as these have sever security issues

quick update btw, it was just my crappy settings... and to think i was the guy who made a "guide" on how to set qbt for best performance 🤣🤣

reminded me of a tv host who had a series about how to have a safe pregancy and ended up miscarrying (laugh at your own discretion)

Once again I'd like to remind everyone that it's not mandatory that you speak.

t's the most straightforward/no bullshit client available, and is completely open source. My only complaint is that I don't get the best speeds, I feel like there's something about it that is capping me.

till some months ago, qbit was very fast for me. now it's very slow

among power users, it's pretty unanimously qbittorrent. and i think it's pretty user-friendly too. the rest using rtorrent are people with subscription seedboxes (generally).

@zwinna try some downloads on a different client to be 100% sure that the problem is qbt
