Do you know what your data cap is?
Is it combined upload/download usage or just downloads?
You cannot really change how much data is being consumed by downloads so you just need to moderate how many torrents you download or only download the pieces of torrents that you want instead of the full amount.
If your uploads(seeding) do not count towards your cap then you will need to keep your torrent client open in order to help maintain a good ratio.
The really best advice, and most flippant, is you need to change your ISP to an unlimited plan because torrent traffic will eat into a low cap very quickly.

@gerggently My data plan is 1536 GB per month, which includes both uploading and downloading.

Hi, try having a look at some seedboxes online. That's what I use if I want to avoid this. And having a seedbox allows me to stream the videos from my seedbox account to my computer via VLC.

I have to agree with Arago. Since I started using a seedbox, I haven't gone past 50% of my data cap (a bit less than your cap). AND my seeding is now 24/7 so I'm gaining a much better ratio.
There are lot's of providers and plans for most every budget.

@Dracula975 I think I will have to take a look at that seedbox option. In the meantime, the month of March is just about up, and starting Friday I'll be getting a fresh 1536 GB to use. My question for the group is this- it seems my ratio is too low and my rights have been revoked. I need to start seeding but everything I am waiting to download is "stalled". I tried to force a download, but that didn't work. I'd like to work on my seeding (which I guess is leave the downloaded file active for all others). Anyone have any ideas on how I can improve my reputation? Thanks!!

I understand your issue - but to be frank, this isn't a porn distribution site, it is a porn SHARING site.... it's not fair to others that you intend to download without "helping" others on the site.
Recently another user - who was using a web-browser-based torrent client to download porn into a tablet lamented that he couldn't share either... well, I'm sorry, but if you can't share then this is NOT the appropriate (fair) way for you to get your porn! Pure and simple. The "technology" of P2P only works when the porn is "crowd-sourced"...
As has been noted here already, there are other ways - but not "free" ways - to "play fair":
- there are ways to use "other" systems to seed (either a cloud-based host of some kind, or a seed-box designed specifically for that purpose)
- you can "buy" your way in (see the donate link on the main page)
- you can pay for "more" Internet connectivity so that you CAN share more appropriately

@bi4smooth I was like a kid in a candy shop when I first signed on over a week ago......total newbie. Had I known how to manage data, and share properly I wouldn't have greedily gobbled up all those Fun Sized Boys and Hard Heroes.
Anywhoo, I'll figure something out, sharing is the only fair way to go, I agree with you there.

If you need to build ratio, limit your search on the torrent search/browse page to "freeleech" torrents...
Then, look for NEWLY freeleeched torrents that have only a few seeders....
If you can become a seeder EARLY in the "limited life" of a freeleech, you will likely be seeding plenty of data - because freeleech torrents are very popular downloads!
It's no use trying this on freeleech torrents that already have dozens of seeders - your "share" of seeding won't be that much.
