Anyone who manages it to keep 1.0 or above ratio without donating?

I've maintained a good ratio over the years. I've been on torrent sites for over a decade so I've got it down pat.
When I join a new site I pick a couple torrents that will be super popular and seed the hell out of them.
I also remember having to cash in some seed bonus because they were about to expire or something. -

I became a member solely to download–period--get as much as I could, for as long as I could; and all without giving. Absolutely no thought regarding uploading, other than the thought of not to–hit it and quit it…Share ratio? What the heck is that? ???
Of course, as expected, my downloading privileges were restricted. I was good with that and stopped visiting the site.
When I did finally return, I took the steps to get back into good standing, but still strictly with downloading in mind; and doing so did bring about that change in standing.
Ironically, this also brought about a change in me in relation to the site–one that I never could’ve imagined, and completely opposite of that which I had started. My efforts were no longer on downloading. Now, it was all about the uploading!
Strangely enough–I probably download more in my uploading role, than I did as a downloader. Stranger still, with downloading more from the site, I actually watch less-- the real kicker–I spend more time on the computer than I ever have in my life…at least 70% of that time is site-related!
With just a couple of exceptions, downloads from the site are all for the sake of feeding my appetite for points; and all points go towards making my uploads freeleech.
In a weird way, I’m kind of where I was before I discovered this site and became a member. I’m back to searching for porn on the other sites; but now I look to upload to GayTorrent.ru!
Regarding those exceptions…

Black–not really my thing, but definitely is for my other S.O.
(…and, I do keep an eye out for stuff with clear shots of uncut meat–same with the voyeur sleeping and public bathroom naughtiness! >:D)

I've been on this site for 8+ years and have yet to support it.
Besides I wanted to finish this huge dead downloads I was working on.
I bet it will take years before I get my upload back on these 25 torrents I downloaded.
But then Who knows? might just get someone like me showing up and finding interest in these things -

No… As long as I have been a member here (2010-10-03), SBP have never had an expiration.

I just figured out that if i make a few of my torrents freeleech I will get more than buying UL credits.
I cashed in a couple hundred bonus point and made 3 of the torrents I am seeding Free for 24 hours on a weekday of all days and I got just over 8gb of upload for them.
Cheaper than buying them for 600 points

I have over 1.0 ratio and never donated. But I realize the ratio numbers here must be a scam, mismanaged or the site is dead (no users).
Regarding downloads…I sometimes find files to d/l early (when there is the initial one seeder). But you NEVER know which files will be popular so you have to RISK d/l crap or filling drive needlessly hoping the file(s) will be popular. But this is bogus. I have left my torrent client on for hours at a time and EXACT files shared on a few similar (aka gay torrent) sites...and the numbers (aka ratio) HERE ARE THE LOWEST.
1. either the number of users here is really dead/gone and it's honestly pointless to try to share since you won't get your ratio up.
2. the idea to d/l a free leech and that somehow will boost your ratio right away is a lie. again see above.
3. uploading new files (any type) but after the initial seeding of 8-10 others, your upload is no longer used or rarely and for some reason OTHER seeder get priority over original uploader.
4. I will not jump thru the hoops to create a bitcoin account and donate. Simply not worth ALL the effort.I don't know where this leaves anyone on THIS site anymore. Seems the number of users are either too few or tastes are too many with a board range of viewing choices you don't seem to easily keep a good ratio ON THIS SITE. You essentially have to leave your computer on 24/7 indefinitely. That isn't practical either.
.RU was fun while it lasted. I have moved on to sites with MORE users (still private tracker) but I can maintain a healthy ratio without adding $100/month to my electric bill for fractions of points here.

I never gained that much ratio from seeding or uploading. voting my downloads is what makes my ratio alive! keep downloading random torrents with small size and vote, you'll have a lot of bonus to exchange them.. piece of cake

I have, but can't manage to keep it up for so long because everytime I check the latest torrent list I may find something that I like. I download them and the ratio falls several points ;D
I try to keep the upload and download ratio balance though, so for now, I will only download some from freeleech

…cough...cough... The #'s don't lie. I started a torrent here about 50 min before uploading elsewhere and numbers pertaining to this site (4 hours ago) are disgusting.

It's been downloaded 51 times. Maybe give it more than 5 hours, most of the western hemisphere is at work. Personally i would not have downloaded the torrent and I like bareback. I've found out if I think something is disgusting I go try something else.

There are MANY members who maintain a ratio above 1.0 without donating. They do it by uploading new material, seeding the material they have downloaded, and making use of the freeleech torrents. If you are serious about improving your ratio without donating, drop me a note, and I'll send you a set of instructions to earn crazy amounts of seed bonus. You can then turn that seed bonus into upload credit and boost your ratio to the moon.
Id Like info on boosting ratios etc as mine are terrible and Ive got such a long way to go to be able to download again…. but I like a challenge

i wanna cry really but i got used to it.I used to be in the same boat as you about a few weeks ago.
This websites ratio system is VERY biased towards those who have faster internet connections available… And for me, the NBN rolled out into my area so I was able to finally able to leave my ADSL connection of 12Mbs down, 0.8Mbps up and jump onto VDSL 91Mbps down/40Mbps up.
The end result is... I have probably uploaded almost 100GB in just the last day or two... Where-as that would have taken me several months prior.
Basically, what you need to do to get by is rely in freeleech torrents (You shouldn't have to... But that is the way it is...)
Seed 24/7 (I no longer have to as an hours worth of uploading can result in a heap of ratio.)
And vote on all your downloaded torrents category's, each time you vote on the torrents category you get 2 seed points, so downloading small 50-100MB freeleech torrents and then voting is a good way to get 600 seed points to trade in for 10GB of uploads...

I don't know what people are doing to have a ration lower than 0.500. Are you deleting your torrents immediately after uploading? Usually if you leave a new torrent for a week or so other people also download it improving your ration.
Every once in a while I'll look at my older downloads (more than 6 months - especially older than 2 years). If there's something pretty good where you are the only seed AND there aren't a bunch of other versions available - make it freeleech for the newer members.

Not everyone has a good amount of upload bandwidth to capitalize on other downloaders.
For instance on some ADSL1 connections in Australia Telstra will limit the upload rate to 384kbps, but retain the download rate at 8Mbps.That's over 6 hours to upload just 1GB whereas it would only take 17 minuets to download 1GB.
And during that time your internet is pretty unusable for even basic tasks such as web browsing, you would need to limit your upload rate to 200-256kbps… Which blows that out to 9-12 hours to upload a single Gigabyte. - That's provided you have people leeching during that entire time as well, which isn't always the case.
And that ignores another issue of other people in your household trying to use the same connection for other tasks like uploading Youtube videos.Like I said, maintaining a good ratio is very biased towards faster internet connections, especially connections with fast upload rates.
The fact this site has implemented other schemes to gain bonus "seed points" is a way to try and work around that very issue... But the real question begs. Is it enough? I made "do" when I had under 1Mbps of upload, now it's not longer even an issue at 40Mbps. -
i would add, even if you have terrible upload: there is great value in seeding that one file you have that no-one else has (or is seeding), the amount of torrents on this site that people seem to religiously keep seeding is one of the attractive things here over certain other sites which seem to have more of a hit-n-run culture.
i guess this is one point for seedbonus: if you stay seeding the file, even if you're not uploading: you are avaliable, and that provide value to the community.
isnt the point to donate: if you have no other way to contribute to the community you download from? (cant upload, cant stay seeding…) well you can contribute some other way.
i don't mind to download something at 10KB/s, if it's 10KB/s all night and not going to leave me with half done download and no seeds coming back for weeks, or just an hour at a time or w/e
