Gay Marriage has been legal in New York for years now and the only thing that changed for me is my mother keeps asking when I'm going to get married. It'll take some time but I sure people won't be raising a fuss over it for long now. As for a constitutional amendment I'd have to disagree with that ever being required. I simply feel that as more and more social attitudes change gay marriage will be thought of in the same light as interracial marriage.

I should also point out that there is some debate on exactly which date an administratively converted civil partnership to marriage will use.  From my understanding,  it should be the date you originally got your civil partnership and not the date of the changeover, but some have said this isn't the case. Converting from a civil partnership to a gay marriage through a marriage ceremony will be dated on the day of the marriage ceremony.  This isn't disputed. Gays will still be able to get civil partnerships, but understand that with the UK (except Northern Ireland) having gay marriage,  you probably won't be entitled to the same rights internationally as you would have with a marriage.

We will see how long that movie will be up…

sad news. It doesnt mean violence is raising because of the act of legalization of same sex marriage, remember theres been a strong propaganda against lgbt community and these incidents are product of it.

This "new perspective" on Shepard's case is somewhat amusing and appalling at the same time. And to claim that McKinney became Shepard's lover is just preposterous! Does the author wants to eradicate this "anti-gay hate crime" label on McKinney? Because I think, it doesn't matter. To take one's life is an inhumane act. I learned this Shepard incident from reading a play called "The Laramie Project" by Moisés Kaufman and in the play, there's this subtle notion that Shepard's murder was highly sensationalized because it is labeled as an "anti-gay hate crime" but in another city near Laramie, there's this another murder on the same day when Shepard's body was seen tied to a fence in the middle of the prairie outside Laramie and yet, no one seemed to bother about it. It may be an unpopular opinion but a murder is a murder whatever the motivation or the gender of the murdered person is and it's a crime against humanity.

Nigel is a great speaker and UKIP talks about things the other parties refuse to discuss. That being said, they aren't always the nicest people.

That is great news. Honestly I often wonder what the fuss is about, marriage is about love and commitment. When I hear the arguments about it I often think "There are children starving all over the world and your foaming at the mouth over this? All I got to say is …. first world problems.

Yes, he probably is. Those must have been really loving foster-parents. Hopefully he can get some gay/lesbian parents to have a good start into life and where he can find help, respect and learn self-respect.
