Contrary to other reports, all 5 were charged with misdemeanors (common for "scuffles" between children), but the local DA is reviewing the case - there is a potential that they could still be labeled "hate crimes", which would make the charges felonies. In Fla, this is the normal course of action - arresting officers do not make the decision on whether to charge as a "hate crime". The whole event lasted only a few seconds & no one was seriously injured (at least not physically). The 5 children charged have been prohibited from returning to school pending a separate school investigation. BTW: At least as-of today, the video of the reporter (who interviewed 1 parent of an attacker and 1 parent of a victim) is followed online by a story about a dude who whipped out his junk in a Starbucks in Miami and started following these girls around....literally beating off while walking behind them! The girls took videos while the store called 9-1-1... Florida Man is alive and well! I live in one CRAZY-ASS State! (People used to think if CA as the "land of fruits and nuts" - we've got more nuts in FL, I believe!)

While there is no scientific basis for race differentiation, there certainly are social and societal bases... it will take generations for us - as a society - to tear down these now discredited social belief systems. And it will take a concerted effort - among all - to accelerate the path to a "one race" society... but that won't be my generation, nor even my grandchildren's... and so each generation must do its part to move us (societally) to a more honest and just acceptance of people - all people - as "racially" equals... Sounds "pie in the sky" - but 400 years ago, it was a popular belief that Black people were "inherently inferior" to other races - and were incapable of being educated to the same degree as Whites! (That's historical fact, not my belief!) Take a look at any college campus today and you'll see proof that those beliefs were wrong - and while considerable progress has been made, there is much more to be done...
