Get a trimmer. Trimmers can cut hair upto length of 0.5 mm. Its better than shaving as there is no danger of ingrown hair which may later become infected. I am trimming since my teens never had a problem.

**Doctors and medical experts say that pubic hair grooming does not promote cleanliness — in fact, it's more hygienic to refrain from shaving. :-**

@DCLXVI: Okay, okay, the 'better' body, then. But then that's up for the debate still. I mean there's just so much to consider. Looking back now… This is so dumb. I can now admit the subjectivity of the matter. I'm so sorry. ;D

Actually this is a pretty common misconception. But actually shaving hair doesn't affect its rate of growth.  Shaving hair removes a thinner part of the shaft, leaving behind its thicker base. As it grows, the follicle thins from wear — but seems thicker-than-normal at first. This thicker part of a hair follicle's shaft is the first to emerge from shaved skin, giving the appearance and feel of thicker-growing hair. Yet this thick base naturally wears down into a thinner tip over time as the hair continues to grow. (See the attached picture) [image: 106764_normal-vs-shaved-hair.gif]

Wet. An electric shaver can be a cesspool of bacteria, dead skin cells and dried blood if not kept scrupulously clean. Ewwww. I like the ritual of a wet shave. I have three razors, two three-piece razors where the head disassembles, and a 'butterfly' razor where twisting the handle opens up the head for blades to be replaced. They give different shaves. In the butterfly, more of the blade is exposed. Gives a lovely close shave, but it's much more likely to cut. Huge variety of choices - from razors to blades and brushes to soaps. Huge variety of prices too. I have a £35 German three-piece and a £7.99 ebay (Chinese-made) generic three-piece razor. The generic one gives me a better shave!

Oh god, for all the people suggesting Minoxidil: Minoxidil is used to treat a very specific kind of hair loss caused by damaged hair follicles due to overproduction of testosterone (androgenic alopecia for the nerds out there). This usually occurs due to genetics, aging, or stress where the excess testosterone weakens then kills the hair follicles. When used early (within 1-2 months of initial hair loss), treatment is about 40% effective for HAIR LOSS because there are so many other different mechanisms for losing hair in the body. In short, it can't revive dead follicles, replace them with new ones, or magically cause more to appear. The idea that minoxidil would help hair growth comes from the idea that because minoxidil is also a vasodilator, it allows "extra" blood and oxygen to reach the hair follicle to help it produce more keratin. The clinical evidence for this is mixed at best, and you can bet big pharma would be advertising this like the cash cow it is if it worked (think about why there are no ads for penis enlargement pills). I wouldn't normally say anything without presenting an alternative, but minoxidil is rather expensive (a 2-month treatment is like $50 if you're using it correctly, and you need to use it for ~6 months to start seeing results) compared to other folklore-inspired treatments (ex: essential oils). For the regular hair loss case, I usually tell people wigs are cheaper, last longer, and produce instant results. Source: interned at a pharma company; this is based on their internal clinical results.

Do you mean minoxidil?  There's a lot you should research concerning minoxidil, finasteride and unwanted side effects like retrograde ejaculation. However, many of the online "group chats" or seemingly independent health websites are manipulated by Big Pharma, and will downplay such risks.  The best advice is standard:  First consult your physician, and if s/he doesn't know, see a specialist.
