The deep web is everything that is not indexed by search engines, the dark web is what can be accessed only using specialized software. You can access the deep web using your regular browser. Be it Chrome, Safari, Firefox, what-else. The tor project is a US based no-profit. The design concept of the network is based on a research of the US naval laboratory. They receive a major share of their founds from the US government! It it was an illegal thing, than there wouldn't be a company or a donation process involving a government. You can be arrested for misusing the internet, but you have to do illegal things. This applies to the clearnet, the deep web, and the dark net. When you connect to the tor network, your traffic is transmitted and scrambled through three relays. This relays (someone else computer) are located all over the world: the network is mainly composed by volounteers who donate bandwith. This makes the identification of the source of the traffic very difficult. This also makes possible the access of websites currently censored in your country. There are very few organizations that are able to identify a tor user (3 letter government agencies). But it's a costly process, so unless you're a pedo, a drug dealer, or a hacker, spending moneys on you is not worth it. This is the reason the tor network is misused by criminals: it's difficult to catch them. This is the same reason the average John/Jane is using the tor network: they don't want to be tracked. If you live in an oppressive country, where the press is censored (hello China, Iran), you may want to read the news through the tor network, otherwise you would not be able to read (let's say) "the new york times", but it can be any other paper. If you don't live in an oppressive country, you probably don't have any reason to use tor, unless you are worried about being tracked by ad-companies, competitors, or whoever else, but the latter are very particular cases. As any powerfull tool, it can be misused. Clearnet is another powerfull tool, and if you abuse this power you can get arrested too.

This seems to be an older post (2012) and I'm surprised I couldn't find anything nearer 2017.  WHY is there no music?  I came here because I want to find gay artists and gay-friendly artists but nada - I'm missing all the new gay musical talent from amateur to concerts.  Gosh, I'd love that and I'm sure a great majority would too.  Sam Smith, Scissor Sisters, Steve Grand, Delano, Troy Sivan … I could go on and on .. point is, this is a Gay site, we're a Gay Community and we should support our gay musical artists in every way possible and share their music as much as the Asian, Hispanic (would Santana come up on a gay music site?  Not likely unless he were in the friendly section - but look him up on any Hispanic torrent site and you are deluged with listings! It's not fair.  I'm wondering why the decision was made.  Are music artists pretty fierce people when it comes to protecting their work?  I would think on the Dark Web they would want to see their work distributed to as many as possible so they 'could be heard without prejudice or bigotry'.  Christian music is on EVERY torrent site but not gay musical artists.  Ok, so many don't want to be 'pigeon-holed' as gay but that's stupid and only hurting the artist because who can believe the words of his song if we all know he is lying in the first place?  That's how it works folks. So come on, rally round studs and let's beg these guys to throw in a new Music category, two sections - "gay friendly" and 'gay artists' or something like that.  I'd want to download some of my favorite gay friendly folk - Streisand, etc and we'd need that category which would probably fill up very fast.  Have to have some rules, all have to be in a zipped/archived folder so they can't be streamed.  My hand is up! :cheers:

Perhaps we could improve the sub-category and searching so that if you search Asian and Bareback, torrents that are tagged in some manner with both categories would come up? Also, possibly make it so that the edit page also allows you to add, remove, or change sub-categories.

Seedboxes are by far the best… They'll completely avoid your ISP's throttle. If your ISP is throttling because of their policies on P2P traffic, there is a way to avoid that. A VPN such as PrivateVPN is a good way to bypass ISP throttling when it's detected to be P2P traffic. This will also keep your internet secure from prying eyes and help to keep you anonymous on the internet in general. The other thing I thought I'd mention is that I see that not many of the torrents in your profile have many seeders, and virtually no leechers. To help build these torrents up, I will freeleech the ones that I see that are in the most desperate need for 156 hours. This will encourage people to download them, which will help to give you upload traffic if you begin seeding these torrents again.

The majority of Porn here is TWINKS in most categories so, imo, there is too much "twink" crap on here

Thanks for the info. It seems to be working. I would have thought that if the call went out to seed, that the torrent would switch from queued to active automatically. Now i know what to do next time.

I hate to be the Negative Nancy here, but I just thought I would point something out… More recently, you may have noticed times when we had pages and pages of freeleech torrents available, which has dwindled down a little. I will be honest when I say a lot of these torrents have been me. The majority of them were torrents that I've been trying to revive, and I'll admit, I've also thrown in little goodies here and there for various reasons. This being said, I do agree that an incentive to regular (non staff) users would help to entice people to spend some to potentially get some.

We are not aware of any issues with the tracker currently. If you are unable to connect only to the tracker, this may be the result of a DNS problem. Some DNS providers for some reason do not like to resolve the IP address of the tracker. There are two ways that you can overcome this. Use Google DNS by using 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 as your DNS servers. After changing the DNS, this may require that you either reboot your computer, or that you open an elevated command prompt and run the command "ipconfig /flushdns" (without the quotes). Modify your computer's hosts file by adding two lines to your hosts file. This will allow your computer to resolve the IP address of the tracker, without the need for a DNS lookup. Simply add the following 2 lines to your hosts file: 77.247.179.58 tracker.gaytor.rent 77.247.179.58 tracker.gaytorrent.tw If you're unsure of how to modify your computer's hosts file, I would encourage you to check out this comprehensive guide

kalayaan is correct about the Helpdesk inquiry. As I am a mod who works the Helpdesk, I can also provide a bit more information here as well. As a general rule, it is advised that you seed your torrents until they have been completed. That being said however, we do understand that for a variety of reasons, this may not always be possible. Examples of such cases include, forgetting to plug in the laptop, severe weather that knocks out your power and/or internet, a local computer crash requiring a reboot, and unexpected trouble with your internet connection. When these unforeseen cases occur, as long as we are aware of the situation, we will not penalize you for circumstances beyond your control.

When torrents do not meet the rules, the fastest way to resolve it is to hit the report button on those torrents and explain the problem.

Your best bet would be to try the fetish section. As already noted, the legal definition of "hardcore" is anything beyond softcore, but not quite extreme.

Oh, okay… thanks for at least the partial explanation, and sense of humor.  Too bad it didn't work as expected.  My OCD would sort of want them to just remove that option altogether then, if it's not going to work.  I hate seeing options available that aren't really available.  Even better if they would fix it, but only if it'd be secure.
