Will have to check my Firefox carefully - kudos bearbearbear. Yeah, I take screenshots of settings in programs before messing with them sometimes so I can restore them if necessary.

    @harryhell: Hey, BearBearBear. The crashes aren't very informative. I'd say 50% of the time the error message reports insufficient memory (this PC has 16GB). . Okay, that's something you should look at because there are checks you can do to make sure the memory is okay and settings you can tweak to avoid errors.  That's not an uncommon error in general, so solutions exist that are not specific to torrenting, just do a search. I also have 16 GB of RAM that was an upgrade a few years after purchasing a mid-range computer years ago and never have run into errors due to memory limitations.  I have 1,500+ torrents running on Transmission and the software does take a couple of minutes to get up and running when I restart my computer but that's the only problem I've encountered and I don't think it has anything to do with RAM, just the number of torrents that have to be loaded.  You're operating at a different scale, though.

    @coconut27: Cool - Thanks for the info! I didn't realize that my ratio was more important than the amount that I have dl/ul (844GB/782GB). Time to trade in that bonus!! Both are important.  When someone offers an invitation to a private tracker, they want to make sure the recipient is active and seeds generously.  Your ratio isn't bad and the suggestion to get your ratio over 1 is just to remove any doubts anyone might have.

    @raphjd: We prefer larger files lie this over countless tiny files. The tracker uses more resources with 20 tiny files than it does with a single larger file. Let me clarify this. We prefer a larger torrent with several small videos than several small torrents with small videos.

    @94Otakusan: How does one upload games or apps? The site doesn´t let me upload exes? I can't find the thread right now but there was a huge problem with malware files in torrents so certain file types are banned including .exe files, at least temporarily.

    Welcome, Shea66. A more specific question would be useful. As explained above, downloading is called "leeching," and when you finish downloading you are "seeding" until you pause the torrent or quit the torrent client.  When you seed, you make available to other downloaders (if any), and you ratio improves as others download from you. Even if no-one is downloading, you get .5 bonus point per hour if you seed at least one torrent, and bonus points can be exchanged for a ratio boost.

    @2222: @bearbearbear: Your comments are very sensible and I don't disagree with you.  I just ask: what's the harm in having it available here, too?  It's gay enough.  There are other torrent sites for movies but why send people elsewhere? I already said I don't think it's important to have it here but I would also agree that it's not particularly harmful to have it here, either.  It's simply a matter of convenience for some users for a film like this. In a discussion a while back on this site regarding non-porn films, I asked the question, "Where do you draw the line?"  I feel comfortable drawing it to exclude both The Lighthouse and The Umbrellas of Cherbourg but of course others can disagree and it doesn't bother me one way or the other what is decided.  Even being familiar with them, it would never have occurred to me to look for either of them here on a gay torrent site if I wanted to watch them again, except for this discussion. However, I really do appreciate being able to find gay-themed films here, many of which are difficult or impossible to find elsewhere, and I think that is important. **In the end, it's a privately-owned torrent site and the owner can do what he pleases with no obligation to explain or justify his actions.  ** Thank you so much bearbearbear, I could just kiss you now  :jiz: LOL And that last sentence is the most excellent one!     This error means that another file with the exact same size and exact same filename already exists somewhere in the system. When doing an upload with QTM and getting this error, it can be quite difficult to find where it is on the site.

    @multiharvy: I am getting the following error while uploading Unable to load "qtm.torrent": torrent contains no piece hashes! how do I fix that Does the title of your torrent contain any unusual characters?  I found this in the QTM guide: Some members have written the helpdesk, reporting: when I try to upload a file using QTM I keep getting an error that says "Unable to load qtm.torrent: torrent is not valid bencoding!"     ~or~ "I tried to create new torrent by QuickTorrent Maker v.1.14, but unsuccessfully. Torrent file says "torrent has no hash parts". To fix this issue, you need to take the special characters out of ALL of the file-names, by RENAMING the FILES. ALL file-name characters must be normal ASCII characters, WESTERN ENGLISH FONT. This error occurs when there is an unsupported character in one or more of the filenames in the torrent's contents. Generally, the most common character is the apostrophe. Please ensure that there are only regular letters or numbers, dots, spaces, or dashes in the filenames of all of the files in the torrent. Once that is done, try creating the .torrent file again and uploading the torrent again. The new upload should work once these characters are removed.
