@raphjd apologies, I tried looking in the FAQ about reseed requests but didn’t find anything relevant. The request reseed button on the torrent is greyed out. So I followed Helpdesk’s advice and looked on the forum before sending an email. I found several reseed requests on this forum, so I thought I’d give it a try. I see you’re an admin—maybe you could communicate this info void to those in charge of the FAQ? and yes, it may show that there are four seeds, but my download has been stalled for a while.

@ianfontinell I agree with most of what you have said. There is a whole cycle at play here which is contributing to the overall decline in the site. An overwhelming amount of content of dubious value to the site is being uploaded on a daily basis so new torrents are getting pushed off the first pages in a matter of hours, and as a result they are attracting fewer and fewer downloaders. Users who download them are not getting enough leechers and their ratio is suffering. This is a particular issue for badly titled torrents which don’t show up in searches. It's next to impossible to fix your ratio just by seeding downloaded torrents under these circumstances. So to fix their ratio users are uploading more and more junk torrents, which is just adding to the problem of too much content being uploaded. These junk torrents seed ok for a few hours while they are on the first pages, then they quickly get pushed to page 5 and start to die. The users who downloaded them are seeding but they don't get leechers, and so more users are pulled into the bad ratio spiral. These users will either abandon the site altogether, or consider adding to the already overwhelming mountain of junk being uploaded. Users who upload to fix their ratio quickly realise that their uploads are only seeding healthily for a very short time (because they are generally junk) so uploading a 500mb video won’t help their ratio very much. Instead they create a 40gb collection of random stuff from their hard drive and share that. It might attract just 7 leechers, but it will get them 40gb of upload credit, but in the process will trash the ratios of the 7 other users… and the spiral continues. Without drastic action this cycle is only going to get worse, and I don't know if the will and the ability to take action exists here. I used to be a moderator on a private tracker, which was a thankless job and resulted in me getting death threats (gotta love the sewer that is internet discourse). It required strict 24/7 moderation, even an hour without proper moderation caused problems. I am well aware of all the internal politics and power struggles which stifle change and exasperate problems. While, I don’t know what is going on behind the scenes here, from the outside I can see all the problems of an unmoderated private tracker that are all too familiar to me.

Something happened, and my reply submitted halfway through typing it. @john32123666 Yes, that's the ideal, but it doesn't solve the current problem of large numbers of users uploading rubbish. I've seen pictures which were under 10kb - you can imagine what kind of pixelated junk they were. Perhaps there should be a minimum filesize accepted? I used to upload good quality pictures when possible. However, since some changes to the site, I no longer see an 'upload pictures' button if there are 10 pictures already, irrespective of their quality. Sometimes the pictures are completely random and absolutely nothing to do with the attached video - there should be some sort of penalty for picture spammers, & perhaps people who submit large numbers should be marked for moderation?

@FlamingoXXX said in What do I do when there are no seeds?: I can't even download it because I don't have the right D/U ratio. You can resume what you have previously downloaded as part of [26.7] ... If the torrent still reside @ your client or you can re-download here after 24 hours due to D/U rights ... If your downloads right is taken there is nothing you can do but to resume when your download privilege goes back ... For the meantime focus on Freeleech to build up your status ... [limited per day] select few seeder enough leecher and plenty amount of time ... [select only few parts and keep seeding] ... https://www.gaytor.rent/browse.php?search=&incldead=1&infl=1&orderby=size&sort=desc any other issues write to helpdesk: https://www.gaytor.rent/helpdesk.php

@Neom555 I hate with VLC that when I pause a video and start playing it again the video turns into a garbled mess, like miscolored blocks, for a few seconds. Depends on the video file probably, but it happens in most cases. I often pause videos, so that's an annoyance. At the moment I prefer MPC for that reason.

SPEED relies on your bandwidth ... In computing, bandwidth is the maximum rate of data transfer across a given path. Bandwidth may be characterized as network bandwidth, data bandwidth, or digital bandwidth. Upload only ONE NEW TORRENT AT A TIME in order to initially seed your upload as fast as possible. If multiple torrents are uploaded, they MUST be completed within 24 hours. https://www.gaytor.rent/rules.php#102 What bandwidth do I need for seeding a torrent? If you are the first seeder of a new torrent, make sure you dedicate as much bandwith as possible to upload this torrent. The bandwith for a new torrent should be at least 20kb/s, the more the better of course. Please stop all other up- and / or downloads. Especially when uploading a big torrent, make sure you have enough bandwidth to seed at least one full copy in a decent time. It does not make sens to seed a 1GB file on a 56k connection as it would take forever to spread the file! If you are unsure about what you can upload, ask on the Helpdesk first. https://www.gaytor.rent/helpdesk.php They can help you to find out the right file-sizes for your internet-connection How many torrents should I seed at the same time? If you're the first seeder, please make sure that you can spread the torrent uploaded as fast as possible. To achieve that, do not upload more than 1 big torrent at the same time, stop seeding of other torrents and dedicate all your upload bandwidth to the torrents you want to spread. SEE: https://www.gaytor.rent/faq.php#30 BANDWIDTH/Upload Speed: ex: .01 kbps - 1kbps upload speed [unacceptable] = very poor connection due to multiple torrents running ... 10kbps - 20kbps / acceptable [slow connection] ... 20kbps - 40kbps / Good [low connection] ... 80kbps - 100kbps [medium or normal] standard ... 250kbps - 500kbps [high speed] fast ... [seedbox/networking speed] ... 1mbps+ and up super speed ... [seedbox/networking speed] ... For many users, uploading files is quite a bit slower than downloading files. This is usually normal, because most high-speed Internet connections, including cable modems and DSL, are asymmetric — they are designed to provide much better speed for downloading than uploading.

@MrMazda This is no longer the case. If you comment on a torrent you have uploaded your username will not be shown, the comment is just attributed to "Uploader" with nothing to identify the user.

I actually don't mind all the solo masturbation videos but the thing that most irks me about these 50+GB OF torrent rips is the vids are often so short or just feature the guy showering or some other mundane thing. I like the idea of the models making a buck on their own from their "fans" but I'd be super pissed if I paid a monthly fee to watch a relatively handsome guy in a bunch of 15-60 second clips.

I don't like it because it's biased. You might don't see it, but let me explain: Since the most important asset in torrenting is your connection speed, if you have a reliable high speed connection you have seeding preference. That means you're being rewarded for something that's not a merit of yours, you are just expecting the system to reward you for doing the bare minimum which is to keep seeding your downloaded torrents. What I think would be more fair in some sense is to reward seeders who are the only connected peers of a specific torrent. Let's say there's a torrent that was uploaded a year ago and you are the only one still seeding it, that makes you actually more valuable to the community overall. Once someone requests a re-seed, the system could check how many people are actively seeding and if that number is below 3, let's say, it activates a upload multiplier bonus, this way whoever starts seeding that torrent in the next hours get either double or triple de upload amount or a fixed seed bonus reward based on the torrent size instead of the seeding hours. Buffing the sbp multiplier woudn't be a good idea because it could be exploited by limiting your bandwidth to keep seeding for longer.
