OK, the upsidedown h is actually the Greek letter µ from µTorrent. So you got µTorrent installed. If you download a torrent, you should select "Open with …" and choose that µTorrent or uTorrent It might help as well to go to the Start menu of Windows (the button bottom left of the Windows desktop) and to select there to open µTorrent. Then in Options > Preferences > General > Click on the button "Associate with .torrent files" if it isn't greyed out.

Some VPN providers do not like torrent traffic, and they might kick you out. If you want to try a VPN that has good reputation, and has servers you can use for torrents, try Astrill. You can get a free trial.

That is likely a browser option … which are you using? For example in Firefox it is in Tools > Options > Applications > Action (change "Save file" into "Always ask")

You need to limit the upload rate and download rate of µTorrent according to your internet access' capabilities, so that there is a reserve left for other internet activity (browsing, chat, etc…) , if you want to watch a video stream, you might need to pause torrenting. µTorrent got a built-in help fpr that: µTorrent > Options > Setup Guide > select the "Bandwidth" test and run it > select the proposed setting. That should do the trick.

I read this morning that there were issues with our tracker …, I guess your problems were related to that and had nothing to do with your settings or the restart of your torrent client programme.

@Uwe: You need to have selected in µTorrent > Options > Preferences > UI Settings > When Adding Torrents "Show options to change the name and location of the torrent data". In my version of uTorrent 3.0 the box to check reads "Show a window that displays the files inside a torrent in advanced mode" This will show a dialog as attached below. Choose 'Select none' and that clears the check boxes. Then you just click the boxes of those you want to download [image: 66445_utorrent.JPG]

Hey Bill Did you try another client as i suggested earlier. That should help you. I'm guessing it's my torrent you are referring to.

Currently, your profile shows you're downloading 2 torrents, also generating upload too. That means these torrents do have seeders and leechers. Has your problem fixed itself?

@Uwe: Our tracker has some issues right now. The Administrators are informed. Please be patient. If your torrent client programme was connected to the tracker before the issue, it will know peers and directly connects to them. However on new added torrents, it can't get the peer information from the tracker and therefore start downloading. Ah, ok. Thanks !

@Uwe: You said there was tracker.gaytor.rent in the hosts file. Can you edit it and put a "#" informant of that line. That will comment that entry out. it is that entry of the host file which short circuit the domain server requests and avoids that your µTorrent connects to the right IP of our server. Alright I did this and it worked. I am downloading fine, going to try uploading soon. Thank you and Speedmaster so much for all of your help.

Which means you can seed more older torrents than 1 (no system limit) and download at the same time.

@Uwe: That torrent has been taken down. Unfortunately I can't find the exact reason. Most likely it wasn't seed or reported duplicate. ok thanks

First thing to try: Delete it from µTorrent and try again. If that does not help, go to your Profile and reset the passkey. Then reloaded the torrent file again. It looks that you account hasn't a passkey assigned. Normally our system generates a passkey on the first torrent download. Sorry, don't know why that did not happen.
