I got great advice from NMD, which really helped. I think part of it was that I was confused by the Guide; the other was that the film's file had vanished (I don't recall deleting it) but I got that fixed up and everything seems okely-dokely. If you haven't seen the movie, you ought; it's pretty wild. Good advice, but alas - a couple of friends were here at the time. I'da invited them to join in, but they unfortunately don't sail the same ship… damn.

You would only be able to RESEED if yours were the exact copies of the ones posted here. You will soon find that out if you download the torrent files from here, open them in you usual torrent client and point to the copies of your movies. If they are the same it will check and start seeding. If they are not it will start downloading, which you may not want. If the files are different enough, say in size or format, you could upload them here but do check for all duplicates first

I looked at your account.  You're currently seeding 4 torrents, all of which have a great many seeders (for your privacy I will not include the titles): #Seeders 360   71 178 64 With that many seeders, its unlikely you will ever upload much…  for example lets say the first file with 360 seeders was a 1.2G file, then in the best case, if a new leech joins and downloads 100% of the file, your share of the uploading would be 1.2G / 360 = 3.3M, hardly anything to get up in the night over.  (And perhaps your upload speed is not the greatest... the P2P system is the definition of chaos... with each peer independently deciding who to download from... if they do connect to you, you might not seem like the best choice if your speed is not fast, so they could disconnect and go elsewhere.) Unfortunately you need to kind of play a game... and get new stuff when there are a low number of seeders so there is more chance for you to upload as new leechers come on.  You could have also done the same thing with new upload before you lost your download rights.  I suspect right now you're only choosing things you might want... but until your build a ratio... you have to go with what is new and you expect will be popular rather than if it personally interests you. Don't forget, just by the mere act of seeding you are earning seed bonus points, which you can turn into upload credits eventually.  (The best deal can be achieved with 24/7 seeding over 2 months... you will earn at least 600 SBP which you can turn into a 10G upload credit.) But the fastest way to guarantee some increased ratio is to upload something new.  This guarantees you at least the amount of upload credit of the file you upload... and likely some more over time as more leechers come on and some drop off. You can also donate to the site...  and you can earn SBP by finding and reporting dupes, uploading additional [appropriate] pictures for torrents with too few, and by participating here in the forums.  If you do upload, you can get 600 SBP from the first time uploader program, and if others like your upload, they may also gift you SBP to say thanks. Good luck…  I'm sure with some more work you can make a repair and become a happy fair sharing site member.

@cannonmc: You can change the filename but you will probably have to in uTorrent Not being a user of μTorrent, I wasn't aware of this. I stand corrected. Thanks cannonmc!

Hi all, just wondering if GT.RU has tried to resolve this issue in any way.  I am still seeing a problem uploading with transmission, even when I have been asked to reseed.

I've removed your personal secrete passkey from the URL. If you see parasite leeching on your account, reset your passkey and reload the torrents (to have the new passkey generated and used by them). Your question is difficult t answer from distance, because what you describe sounds correct. A possible issue could be that your µTorrent didn't locate the file and tries to download it. In that case you should see "looking for peers" and a downloading arrow. Else, look in the lower µTorrent window part, torrent details for the status message in the line with the tracker URL and report what it says there. That usually gives a hint about the possible issue.

Bit of a revival on the dead topic part, however if Running as Admin doesn't fix this problem, and you have Malwarebytes Anti Malware's real time protection on your computer, turning it off, or allowing QTM will fix this issue as well.

That tracker URL is missing your passkey and that is the reason why the tracker returns "Failure: unregistered torrent pass" The URL just above includes the personal secrete passkey and that is why it displays working (in funzione) You've got tow possibilities: 1/ just ignore that failure, it doesn't harm 2/ right mouse button click on that tracker URL and select "Remove tracker" from the drop down list. Then only the working tracker URL remains listed and the error is gone. Remark: When you create a .torrent file, you'll usually do that without your secrete passkey. µTorrent is default to start seeding once created a .torrent file. That is good for public trackers without passkey system (e.g. The Pirate Bay). However on private trackers, that is the wrong way and should be deselected. Not having deselected it can explain why you got that tracker URL without the passkey in that torrent details. Then when you re-download the small .torrent file from GayTorrent.ru, it will have the passkey inserted. You must have done that, because the other URL got your passkey. This principle: Create a torrent. Upload it to the tracker. Re-download it from the tracker (to have the passkey inserted). Add to the torrent client and point the download to the directory with the file from which the torrent was created, is typical for all the private trackers I know

That is the typical misunderstanding in the upload process new uploaders have on private trackers (I had it too, when doing my first own torrent). What is needed to be downloaded, is only the small .torrent file and not the big shared data file (here mostly a movie file). First time uploaders go fast, download the .torrent file and add it to the torrent client, which then will try to download the data file (movie), which won't work, even with good ratio. The download of the .torrent file is required, because at download the personal secrete passkey is added into the .torrents file information. That passkey is missing in the originally created and uploaded .torrent file. The "trick" is to make sure the torrent client finds the big data file (or the folder with the files) from which the torrent had been created originally when adding the .torrent file to "download". Then it will check the existing file, which should match, and start seeding instead of trying to download. There exist two principles to achieve that: 1/ Copy the big data files (or folder) into the default download directory of the torrent client before you add the downloaded .torrent file to it. This method is quite universal. 2/ With the right UI settings (e.g. µTorrent's and BitTorrents default out of the box settings) good torrent clients show a window with the torrent's files and the target download directory when adding a torrent. Here the target directory needs to be changed to the directory where the fie (or folder) from which the torrent was created is located. I see the opening poster has managed to seed his upload, so this seems be solved and that can explain as well his better share ratio.

Your torrent client is reported as not connectible. That will lead to an at least 30 minutes delay after uploading the torrent fr it to get downloading peers information to offer them downloads. Please consult the help of your torrent client programme for information how to make it connectible. If you haven't done it yet, you can claim the First Time Upload Programme reward of 600 Seed Bonus Points. You must ask for it as explained in the Forum topic about it, the bonus doesn't arrive on its own.

I can't tell you. Each of them will need a case by case review if reported. This can involve quite time extensive web searches, asking the uploader and other moderators opinion. In addition members who have actually downloaded the files and watched them are better placed than me to have an opinion on the movies. Another remark: You need as well put a movie into the historical and social context of the period / location it was made. Openly LGBTQ isn't / wasn't always possible and the LGBTQ theme might be treated subtle to make the movie pass censorship

What we are eagerly missing are Downloads (yes, downloads, it is not a typo). Those will create upload at others members, which in turn can download more. On Gay-Torrents.net downloads are ratio free, so nobody hesitates to download and of course if a torrent is available there and here, people which are member of both, will prefer the free download there. If you look to the Home page, you'll see many cyan members (ratio above 0.95), actually Power User status members. If everyone camps on his good ratio and avoids to download, the sharing will stall. What we need is that members understand that not everyone can have a ratio above 1.000 and that a ratio below 1.000 isn't "bad", as long as it is above the next step's minimum ratio.
