@jokuihmemies OK. I thought step-relationships were also illegal, but I might be wrong. Some of SAYUNCLE brother/step-brother content may be OK then I guess?

Once again I'd like to remind everyone that it's not mandatory that you speak.

Friendly reminder from the team: please keep this thread to the law itself and what it means for members here. Party politics are off-topic in our forum. Thanks!

The UK is completely bonkers at this point. This wasn’t even a study done by a independent agency or research institute but by some political right wing hack opion.

i think i kinda understand this type of porn to be banned koz they dont want any mistakes where someone RIP or fetishing incest/roleplays

@jokuihmemies nah mate they're insinuating that it is this type of pornography that is turning the teens violent and insecure, they think it is a good idea to censor it instead of teaching about boundaries and consent from an early age. In a few years when nothing has changed they will add more kinks to this stupid law instead of looking at the actual cause, because this is easier to pull off and say you are doing something.

Once again I'd like to remind everyone that it's not mandatory that you speak.

@ianfontinell Bro, you are thinking way to hard into this. It's much simpler. Most porn nowadays has one of those aspects in there. A little bit of choking or incestuous tendencies. Thats a good portion of porn forbidden just like that.

A lot of stuff they are trying to forbid was already so in the industry for many years.

All of them; activists groups like collective shout, look them up.

And if you can find a way to bind a controversial policy to protecting children you have a 99% change it will pass, because who doesn't want to protect children.

At the end of the day I doubt anyone will have a reason to be concerned about any of this. I think it was about 12 years ago when they announced a ban on many things including face-sitting porn. Obviously, being British loads of people turned up outside parliament and proceeded to squat on each others faces (fully clothed) to show how stupid it was.

As I understand it it the end result of what was initially announced as a total ban was that it only banned the production of commercial pornography and domestically-hosted streaming of on-demand pornography featuring such acts, not something that I think would concern most torrent sites or people making or hosting it for their own viewing pleasure.

Sometimes it does rather feel like Mary Whitehouse has been turning in her grave for so long that she got bored and climbed out to go for a piss though.

Yes, generally, the UK Parliament makes laws.

BUT this only applies to the main law.

Virtually every main law allows the Minister who's department is in charge of that law to make changes that don't change the main law.

As an example, HMRC constantly makes changes to tax laws without Parliament, because they aren't changing the main law. We see the same thing with DVLA, DWP and everything else.

True, it does take years sometimes.

I don't know when the main law passed, but it went into effect in 2023 under Rishi. He ordered the previously mentioned porn review.

The porn review finished after the election in 2024.

Starmer's government added these bans in 2025.
